Besides his documentaries, this is Trenton Chappell's first feature length fictional film. Before this, Chappell's other film "Clyde" sat under 37 minutes, not qualifying as a "feature film," but as a "short film."
The poster for the film was drawn and designed by the lead actor, Mikel McCarley, who plays "Ken" in the film.
At 32:28, Anna refers to the monster as a "Man-Rat," which is a nod to the original title, "Curse of the Man-Rat." The title was later changed to "The Vermin Within" shortly after the script was completed.
