David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (1899) have joined Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as the parents of Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl, Deadline can confirm.

They join a cast led by House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock, who landed the title role after a long search. Others on board include Matthias Schoenaerts as villain Krem of the Yellow Hill, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle.

Details as to the plot of the film, centered on Superman’s cousin, remain under wraps. But production has just gotten underway in the UK.

Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann and David Krumholtz have joined the cast of Jeremy Allen White’s Bruce Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

Maron will play Chuck Plotkin, the music producer who mastered Springsteen’s “Nebraska” album, turning his unprocessed cassette demos into a high-quality record. Hoffmann will portray Springsteen’s mother, Adele Springsteen, a singer in her own right who died at age 98 earlier this year. Krumholtz will play Al Teller, a record label executive who oversaw the release of “Nebraska.”

From Disney’s 20th Century Studios, “Deliver Me From Nowhere” follows Springsteen during the creation of his 1982 album “Nebraska,” a stripped-down record that marked a creative shift from the anthemic “Born to Run” and “The River.” The movie is currently filming in New Jersey and New York. Springsteen, who is involved in the making of the film, visited the set earlier this week and was photographed hugging White.

Kyle Edward Ball, the writer and director behind 2023’s micro-budget horror hit “Skinamarink,” has teamed up with A24 for his next film, “The Land of Nod.”

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Ball will write and direct the project, which will be released globally by A24.

“The Land of Nod” will be produced by Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush and Josh Safdie under their new production banner Central Pictures; SpectreVision’s Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah and Elijah Wood; as well as Tatiana Bears and Bruno Vernaschi Berman. Theo Vieljeux will executive produce.

New Amsterdam star Ryan Eggold and Tony Award-nominated Kevin Del Aguila will join the previously announced Daniel Dae Kim on Broadway this fall in David Henry Hwang’s much anticipated Yellow Face.

Eggold will be making his Broadway debut.

Complete casting for the production was announced today by the Roundabout Theatre Company, and also includes Francis Jue, Marinda Anderson, Greg Keller and Shannon Tyo.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but 1428 Elm has learned that the script, written by Will Soodik (Westworld), is based on a short story by Philip Fracassi.

Set during a momentous summer in a young boy's life, Altar sounds like a twisted coming-of-age story where he is "forced to grow up faster than he ever imagined."
