As a true crime fanatic, I can't believe I had never heard about this case before. I remembered seeing news of Billy Chemirmir's death, but I had no idea just how many people he had killed.
Greed, incompetence, ageism, and pure bloodlust drive this harrowing story of a serial killer who could have-and should have-been stopped much sooner.
The overwhelming evidence, the abundance of video footage, and the deeply moving stories of the victims made my heart ache. It also made me reflect on how older people are often dismissed when they express fear or suspicion-when in reality, they may be onto something.
What I truly appreciate about this series is how it doesn't just portray the victims as statistics but as individuals with rich lives, deep relationships, and incredible resilience. It honors who they were, their love for life, and, in some cases, their courageous battles to survive-even in their frailest moments.

This case is beyond infuriating!!! If these victims had been young rich people there would have been no stone unturned, security 24/7 and countless media attention. These poor families had to go with unanswered questions for so long.
Mary Bartel and the other survivor (sorry forgot her name) are the true heroines in all of this. How they survived is truly incredible. And of course Josh the security guard was a rock star. He really should become a detective.
I am so saddened about the senseless deaths. As a nurse working in a nursing home I just cant understand how someone could harm defenseless people like this. These people lived their whole life, worked hard to make it to retirement then their lives were cut short all for silly jewelry.
This Billy dude is sick and disgusting! He should be shipped back to Kenya and thrown in a jungle somewhere so he can become lion and tiger food!!! But I accept the way he died because that would have been very painful and scary. Kudos to his cell mate!!!!
Also although I respect the people who want to "forgive" that animal, there is no way I ever could. I could live very well without forgiving a useless piece of garbage.

Why aren't there more reviews on this page? Why aren't more people talking about this documentary? Why hasn't there been more news coverage on this serial murderer? Well I'll tell you why! The answer can be found in my title. This was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. And I watch a lot of documentaries. It was extremely well thought through, concise, interesting &, dare I say, entertaining. Some documentaries meander & are hard to follow. Now this one! As stated in the documentary, Billy Chemirmir, the killer is the most prolific serial killer to date in the State of Texas, if not in the entire US. And yet, we've heard nearly nothing about him. Why? Again, read my title. I am hurt for the families & also very, very angry that more publicity hasn't been given to this case! Watch this docuseries! Its eye opening & telling about how much we value the elderly in our country!
I would say this is surprising, people keeping murders under wraps for money but it's not. Our world today is full of greedy pigs. This was a well told documentary, didn't drag on too terribly much. Lots of videos and pictures and interviews kept it interesting. Very sad though. Just such a waste of lives that could've been stopped pretty early on. The man who committed all these atrocious crimes was an absolutely disgusting excuse of a human being. Had the communities, where the elderly women lived, paid just a TINY bit of attention maybe things would've been different. Cops failed in every single way for a long time too. I mean come on!! The smartest out of the bunch, for a while, was the worker who'd put things together, literally years before anyone else. And I truly don't understand why this wasn't a massive talked about story! I guess they're right, ageism played a huge role. If you like true crime go ahead and give this a watch.
