This is a solid and creepy short horror film about the sinister consequences of attempting the "Mickey Mouse challenge"-a test of bravery that must be completed at midnight. The film even includes a clip from the original 1928 Steamboat Willie, which entered the public domain at the beginning of 2024.
There are a few standout aspects to this film. First, it feels rich and complete-honestly, much longer than its actual four-minute runtime. A surprising amount happens in that short time. Second, the use of Mickey's shadow is done very effectively, building suspense leading up to the climax. Third, the acting is quite decent given the type of film, and most importantly, the film holds your attention from beginning to end.

What happened to Alex Magaña? Recently he is making very simple, flat and, above all, boring short films. A short film that does not add anything more relevant to the horror genre. It is well understood that he wants to take advantage of the popularity of the character, but it does not make him a merit, it is very halfway and it is cataloged from my perspective as boring.
The approach of a challenge through social media or a video is already more than oxidized, it generates nothing and only impoverishes the story it wants to tell. A loose argument that has already been used to say nothing.
An actor who is immobilized just to give expression is not surprising. The actress Erin Sunisa did it wrong, does not connect with the viewer and those expressions are very poor. It is more than obvious that he lacked more motivation or simply his character has nothing to provide for the viewer.
Mickey Mouse's look isn't that scary either. At this point he highlighted the most important one. Debatable.
Per the most memorable is the musicalization, but its interpretations and narrative argument do not accompany. That's why the short film is halfway down and it's forgotten.
Alex Magaña has a lot of potential, but here he fell asleep.
