The stream of public domain horror continues, this time it’s E.C. Segar’s iconic sailor Popeye who gets turned into a killer. The script by Harry Boxley, who has already scripted a trio of similar films, Piglet, Mouse of Horrors and Cinderella’s Curse re-imagines him as a boy born with huge forearms and freakish strength who accidentally kills one of his tormentors leading to the death of his parents and the young lad seemingly drowning.
Years later we find out he’s still alive as he kills off a trio of obnoxious YouTubers. From there we join Tara (Emily Rose Mogilner; 500) who is about to inherit the land where the house stood so she along with her boyfriend Dylan, Nick (Bruno Cryan; Treeline Essex Girls), Kathy,...

We just reviewed Mouse of Horrors, and now its co-writer Harry Boxley, who has also given us the likes of Tsunami Sharks and The Madness of Humpty Dumpty, is back with Piglet. Yes, another attempt to cash in on the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey franchise from its distributor ITN.
Apparently set in America despite the characters’ British accents, the film opens with a condemned criminal making their escape from custody and heading for a cave in the woods where they don a familiar looking mask in preparation for the arrival of some victims.
They don’t have long to wait before Kate and her friends Judith, Alex, Dianne (Alina Varakuta; Whisper in the Dark) and Susie arrive to celebrate Kate’s 21st birthday.

The filmmakers behind Mouse of Horrors, originally titled The Mouse Experiment, are an assortment of folk connected to some of the most prolific sources of low-budget horror out there. The director, Brendan Petrizzo has a history with The Asylum, having produced and/or directed films that include The Devil’s Triangle and Attack of the Meth Gator. One of the writers, Marc Gottlieb, also has a long history there, having written among others Top Gunner: Danger Zone and 2025 Armageddon.
The other of this tale’s scribes, Harry Boxley has delivered scripts like Jurassic Triangle and Piglet to Jagged Edge, Proportion Productions and ITN Distribution, companies much of the cast have worked for as well. And just for good measure, the cinematographer is Charlie Steeds, owner...

ITN Studios has renamed their horror movie inspired by Mickey Mouse from ‘The Mouse Experiment’ to ‘Mouse of Horrors.’
This exciting new indie film has released an official trailer and promises a terrifying twist on a beloved character.
The movie, set to hit theaters soon, features a group of friends who find themselves trapped and hunted by a mutated rat named Steamboat Willie at a creepy amusement park.
Directed by Brendan Petrizzo, the cast of ‘Mouse of Horrors’ includes Natasha Tosini, Lewis Santer, Nichaela Farrell, Michelle Bauer, Allie Moreno, and Tessa Wood. It’s important to note that this film is not associated with the so-called “Poohniverse.”
Interestingly, the film taps into the newly public domain character of Steamboat Willie, the classic 1928 short film character that marked Mickey Mouse’s debut. Now that it’s public domain, filmmakers are free to use this version of Mickey without needing Disney’s approval.
