Kaley Cuoco is set to take the lead in upcoming mystery thriller series “Vanished,” announced during Series Mania in Lille, where AGC will launch sales.

Sam Claflin, three-time Cesar winner Karin Viard and Matthias Schweighöfer will also star in the series to be direct by Barnaby Thompson.

“Vanished” follows a romantic getaway to Paris that take a dark turn. When her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) suddenly disappears aboard a train to the south of France, Alice (Cuoco) is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.

Netflix's upcoming series Pulse, the streamer's first original medical procedural, has added five additional cast members, including The Boys' Jessie T. Usher and Law & Order: Svu's Jessy Yates.

Per Deadline, the new additions also include Pennyworth star Jack Bannon, Warrior's Chelsea Muirhead, and Vampire Academy's Daniela Nieves. The five actors join Willa Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell, and Justina Machado for Pulse. The series follows the staff of Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate medical emergencies, as young ER doc Danny Simms, played by Fitzgerald, is unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident amidst the fallout of her own provocative romantic relationship. Bannon will portray Tom Cole, a Surgical Resident who is "a witty and charming Brit who came to Miami for the excellent trauma program but also for the lifestyle that Miami offers."

Betty Gilpin is set to star in the series “Blood Sugar” that is currently in development at HBO, Variety has learned.

Exclusive: Sebastian De Souza, who is a series regular on the new Hulu period comedy, The Great, has signed with Anonymous Content for representation.

De Souza stars opposite Fanning and Nicholas Hoult in The Great, created by Oscar-nominated writer Tony McNamara. The show chronicles a genre-bending, anti-historical ride through 18th century Russia and follows the rise of Catherine the Nothing to Catherine the Great.

De Souza also guest-starred in another critically acclaimed Hulu series, Normal People, based on the bestselling novel by Sally Rooney. Netflix's Sex Education Season 3 was confirmed by the streaming giant less than a month after Season 2 arrived.

Exclusive: Zero Gravity Management, the La-based management and production company, is ramping up activities in the UK and has brought in two new clients on that site of the pond.

Chris Foggin, the director of 2019 UK box office hit Fisherman’s Friends, the low-budget indie project from Fred Films that took an impressive $9.7m after opening at number two behind Captain Marvel, has signed with the company for management in the U.S.. He is represented by United Agents in the UK.

Foggin has directed award-winning short films starring the likes of James Corden, Judi Dench and Tom Hiddleston. Fisherman’s was his second feature after 2016 picture Kids In Love, which starred Will Poulter, Alma Jodorowsky and Cara Delevingne. His upcoming work includes the first two episodes of the next season of UK series Cold Feet for ITV.

Chris Foggin, who directed the recent UK box office hit Fisherman’s Friends, has been attached to a feature adaptation of Matt Haig’s modern vampire novel The Radleys.

Comedian Jo Brand, a TV Bafta winner for her writing work, has adapted the book for screen. Debbie Gray is producing through her UK company Genesius Pictures and has backed the development of the project with in-house funds.

Brand previously wrote 2018 UK comedy feature The More You Ignore Me, which Keith English directed and Gray produced through Genesius.

Drake was the big winner of the night and set a new record for most awards at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, held Wednesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with Kelly Clarkson hosting and NBC broadcasting.

Shattering the previous awards mark, Drake took home 12 awards tonight, including Top Artist, bringing his lifetime total to 27, the most of any artist.

Exclusive: Brit comedy Fisherman’s Friends, from the writing and producing team behind UK box office hit Finding Your Feet, has netted a UK deal with Entertainment Film Distributors.

The film, currently in post-production, has an ensemble cast featuring Daniel Mays (Atonement), Tuppence Middleton (The Imitation Game), James Purefoy (Solomon Kane), David Hayman (Finding Your Feet), Dave Johns Sam Swainsbury (Thor: The Dark World), Maggie Steed (Paddington 2) Christian Brassington (St Trinian’s 2) and Noel Clarke (Brotherhood). Here’s a first look at some of the team.

Directed by Chris Foggin (Kids In Love), the Cornwall-shot feature is inspired by the true story of the male singing group Fisherman’s Friends, who went from performing in their village harbour to securing a deal with Island Records, a top-ten album and performing on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury.

Producers are James Spring, Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft with Piers Ashworth (St Trinian’s), Leonard and Moorcroft writing the screenplay.

Legacy Rights, the sales label headed up by James Scott, has inked deals in Latin America and Spain (Sun Distribution), Scandinavia (Scanbox), Japan (New Select), Middle East (Phars) and Airlines (Jaguar). Scott will be showing a promo to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival next week.

Pic is a Head Gear Films and Metrol Technology presentation in association with Legacy Rights of a Fred Films and Powder Keg Production in association with Hindsight and Ipg Media. Post-Production is being handled by Lipsync.

Clerkenwell Films, the British production company behind teen sci-fi drama Misfits and Netflix and C4’s The End of the Fxxxing World, is developing a scripted series based on the life of British entrepreneur Jamal Edwards.

Edwards, the founder of online video channel Sbtv, which was responsible for helping the careers of pop stars such as Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora, said that the series would be akin to Michaela Coel’s Chewing Gum, which debuted on E4 and is available on Netflix globally.

In his expanded role, Fox vet Rubini will now oversee all television licensing negotiations throughout Latin America. There are a lot of films that take aim at the youth of a particular moment in time and hope to speak to and for a generation. Most are just so much noise amongst the zeitgeist they pretend to thumb their noses at. The ones that work usually hold up well as films generation after generation, because they are close enough to their own generation and smart enough to realize that they aren’t exatly saying anything new.

Kids in Love, for example, while a stunning portrait of a sub-section of youth-ish today, reminds of nothing more than Metropolitan, a 26-year-old film that it has almost nothing in common with, except an extraordinary understanding of how its characters represent their own societal woes.

Exclusive: $13m project from Salon Pictures will chart story of soldier who suffered severe burns during the Falklands War; Embankment to sell.

The story of Simon Weston, the British army veteran who endured severe burns during the Falklands War, is to be told in an ambitious new film which has Jonathan Teplitzky (The Railway Man) attached to direct.

Salon Pictures is producing the feature.

Weston came back from the brink of death to rebuild his life. He wrote best-selling autobiographies, campaigned tirelessly for charity and is regarded by many as a symbol of Britain’s war in the Falklands.

During the Falklands War in 1982 Weston was a young soldier on the ship Rfa Sir Galahad when an Argentine Skyhawk dropped a 500lb bomb, killing most of his platoon. His fight for survival and recovery took him to a dark abyss.

Kids In Love tells a very specific coming-of-age story. Not a universal one by any stretch, but rather an exploration of what it’s like to be a middle class British young man who’s just reached the end of compulsory education. Options are sprawled in front of Will Poulter’s Jack - an unpaid internship, a gap year, a university course – but none of them particularly interest him.

Enter Alma Jodorowsky as Evelyn, a Frenchwoman living in London who parties at places that Jack can’t even describe. Coming-of-age feature to world premiere at Edinburgh festival.

Kids In Love, starring Will Poulter (The Revenant), Alma Jodorowsky (Blue is the Warmest Colour) and Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad), is set for release in UK theatres and on demand on August 26.

Signature Entertainment, which is handling the release of the coming-of-age British feature in theatres, will then release the film on DVD on August 29.

It will receive its world premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival in June, where it will feature in the Best of British strand.

In Kids in Love, Poulter plays a young man drifting through his ‘gap year’ when a chance encounter with a beautiful woman (Jodorowsky) swerves his life radically off course. He quickly becomes caught up in a whirlwind of all-day parties and wild nights in London’s hidden dives with her charismatic friends.

The cast also includes Sebastian De Souza (The Borgias) and Jamie Blackley (Snow White And The Huntsman), Preston Thompson and Gala Gordon...

The line-up for the 70th Edinburgh International Film Festival (Eiff) has been unveiled this morning by artistic director Mark Adams.

This year’s Eiff (June 15-26) will comprise a total 161 features from 46 countries including: 22 world premieres, five international premieres, 17 European premieres and 85 UK premieres.

Highlights include the UK premiere of Disney-Pixar animation Finding Dory, in-person events that include Us indie filmmaker Kevin Smith and Sex & The City actress Kim Cattrall, and the opening and closing gala world premieres of the previously announced Tommy’s Honour and Whisky Galore!.

Old classics will be re-imagined with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra performing the score to E.T. Hall joins the UK distributor and international sales agent from Middle Eastern Warner Brothers distributor, Shooting Stars Theatrical Distribution where she headed up acquisitions.

Reporting directly into Carnaby’s director of international sales, Tania Sarra, as well as joint CEOs Andrew Loveday and Sean O’Kelly, Hall will be responsible for multi-territory sales of Carnaby’s new to market and film library as well as working with the CEOs on acquisitions of commercial and theatrical projects.

Hall’s first market with Carnaby will be the Cannes Marche in May.
