On Thursday, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice 2” – officially known as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” – giving fans their first look at Gen X’s goth teen icon Winona Ryder and Gen Z’s goth teen icon Jenna Ortega on screen together in the sequel to the 1988 horror comedy.
The new trailer brings back the trailercore version of “Day-o (The Banana Boat Song)” from first teaser, plus better looks at Ryder as now-adult goth Lydia Deetz, Ortega as her daughter Astrid, and, of course, Michael Keaton as Tex Avery-esque demon Betelgeuse.
The trailer introduces the plot of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” in which Lydia returns to Connecticut for her father’s funeral. She tells her daughter the story of how she once summoned a demon who wanted to marry her and created chaos in her and her family’s life for a while.
