Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Magnolia Entertainment has signed German actress Harriet Herbig-Matten for management.
Herbig-Matten recently rose to international fame with her starring role in Maxton Hall, Prime Video’s series adaptation of the hit novel from Mona Kasten, which in May “achieved the largest first-week global viewership for an International Original in Prime Video history,” per the streamer, and was quickly renewed for a second season.
In the show from Germany’s UFA Fiction, which occupied the #1 spot of the Prime Video charts in more than 120 countries and territories, the actress plays Ruby, who unwittingly witnesses an explosive secret at her private school Maxton Hall. The arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) then has to deal with the quick-witted scholarship student, for better or worse. From that point on, he tries to buy Ruby’s silence, and they soon risk everything to be together.

Maxton Hall: The World Between Us explores class differences through a unique enemies-to-lovers storyline. The show's talented cast brings depth to character dynamics, enhancing the intense relationship between Ruby and James. Maxton Hall's cast increases the show's tension and its messages about the differences in social classes.
Amazon Prime Video's Maxton Hall: The World Between Us centers around the classic enemies to lovers trope, but the show's cast helps its story feel memorably different. Maxton Hall is one of the most recent additions to the list of new shows on Prime Video, and it is already making a splash. Maxton Hall follows Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten), who sees something she shouldn't, and James Beaufort (Damian Hardung), who tries to stop her from talking about it. It's the perfect setup to potentially make Maxton Hall one of the best TV shows on Amazon Prime Video.

U.S. giants Netflix and Nickelodeon are the world’s leading providers of children’s shows, more or less on a par. But the BBC’s kids’ brand Cbbc ranks second and is also much more balanced in terms of its output of kids’ originals.
Rankings and breakdown of product type were among the takeaways of the Fresh TV Kids digital panel held Tuesday as part of the virtual MipTV market by analyst Virginia Mouseler looking at what’s trending in kids’ TV.
The main current trend “is that Netflix has become the major provider of original kids programs on a par with Nickelodeon,” said Mouseler, CEO of research outfit The Wit. She noted that the two companies recently joined forced on “Glitch Techs,” the animation show about two kids recruited to battle video-game monsters that have found their way into the real world.
