Not Bad While Awaiting Car Repairs

I had to take my car to the Honda dealership for regular maintenance yesterday afternoon. I was told it was going to take 90 minutes, so I sat in the waiting room expecting to be horribly bored. "Beat Bobby Flay," which is the type of show I never watch, was on the big-screen TV, and I saw three episodes before my car was ready. I have to say it's not bad. The premise, that two challengers have to cook against each other with the main food item of Bobby's choice, then Bobby has to cook against the winner with the main food item of the winner's choice, is actually pretty clever. The announcers were somewhat annoying but didn't spoil it for me. The cooking itself was impressive and made me hungry. Bobby lost against a challenger two out of the three shows I saw, so the challengers definitely had a chance. I doubt I will ever watch this show at home, but it made waiting for my car less boring than I would have expected.

Really !! He always wins

I think the show is fake . I know the results as soon as I see many repeat judges, Bobbie will win . And why is his food tasted always last . Bobbie really , stop making yourself better than you are . I hate your show, so fake.

Media Director please keep up!

Please keep up On seasons and episodes! Hard to keep track of which ones have been watched when they aren't even listed on IMDB! A 8 year old intern could do it! I track and rate the shows as I watch. Hard to do when they aren't even listed. IMDB is THE app to do this! Please! Thank you!

A Very Entertaining Competitive Cooking Show

For some reason watching people cook fancy food is always really satisfying, and in this show, it's made even better by the fact that the people cooking are competing against each other. What happens in this show is chef Bobby Flay, along with his two guest-hosts, will bring two chefs into the kitchen, and Bobby Flay will choose either a specific dish for them to make, or a random ingredient that must be the main ingredient in their dish. They have 20 minutes to make their dish, then the two guest hosts eat and critique their dishes. Whoever made the best dish gets to continue to compete against Bobby Flay himself, this time with a dish of their own choosing. They have 45 minutes to do so, and then they bring in 3 food judges, who eat the dishes without knowing which one is which, and then they all vote for one. Whoever gets the popular vote wins. It's always amusing to watch the chefs and speculate who will win. It's also incredibly satisfying to see the person who's competing against Bobby Flay actually beat him, as Bobby Flay is surprisingly and impressively knowledgeable on pretty much every dish in existence. One thing I don't like about this show is the fact that the guest hosts have such empathy for the chef competing against Bobby Flay, that they'll go up to Bobby Flay and screw with him by doing things like knocking his tools off his table, or dancing around him in a really dumb dance to distract him. I just wish they would let a competition be a competition, even though Bobby Flay is an expert in practically every dish in the world. Another thing is the winner always makes a terrible pun about their dish at the very end of the episode. Other than that, it's an entertaining show that has a lot to offer, after all, there is 27 seasons as of April, 2021.

Don't cheat Bobby Flay

Bobby Flay is amazing; but I believe the judges should be learned on the dishes they judge. When Bobby competed on the Manto dish his dish wasn't Manto. The competition was make the dish your challenger chooses, not make a dish that taste good. I believe you should make the original dish and then kick it up a notch. If you have to watch your opponent then make what you think it is. How can you win. If your judges were from the country where the dish is traditional he would have lost.

Disappointingly predictable

Every time I watch this show, they emphasize that the judges are completely unbiased. Yet, while they are critiquing the plates, the 2 chefs are standing there in front of them and grimacing when their plates receive any sort of criticism. The number of times this happens, and Bobby Flay wins, is extraordinary. The judges should judge without any influences - i.e. the chefs and audience. Its disappointing, and becoming very predictable. Also, there is a lot of times when Bobby's dish is NOT the best, yet he wins. Same happens in Iron Chef - I stopped watching because it didn't make sense - several of the guest chefs deserved to win. All quite political. Starts to resemble the Oscars.....

I love this show

Ok, first of all, those people who are saying other person's dish is better... are not the ones tasting it. Presentation wise, maybe, but maybe Bobby's tastes better? I binged watched this, and no, Bobby doesn't win all the time. He wins about 70% of the time. My only question is, when they had an episode where Marcus was selected to go against Bobby, and Marcus is Ethiopian... and of course Marcus selected an Ethipian dish..one of the dishes was Ethiopian food critic. How did they know that Marcus will be chosen and that he will cook Ethiopian, so they prepared an appropriate judge ahead of time? Maybe they had different judges ready in case either contestant wins..but this was sketchy. Still a fun show.

Appalled/Chicken Mole

I watched this show, they emphasize that the judges are completely unbiased. Traditional chicken mole is very complicated and a lot of work. For Bobby to slaughter the dish with raisins, mango, molasass was very disturbing!! I do not care who you talk too Chicken mole does not have any of those ingredients. Yet, while they are critiquing the plates, the 2 chefs are standing there in front of them, the judges clearly have not tasted traditional chicken mole. Shame on you judges for giving Bobby the win over the colorful plate over a boring traditional plate. New flash: nobody in Mexico unless they go to culinary school have used the ingredients Bobby used to make chicken mole. Chicken mole should never ever have pomegranate or mango in it! The number of times this happens, and Bobby Flay wins, is very disappointing! Also, there is a lot of times when Bobby's dish is NOT the best, and in this event it was clearly not the best! Bobby stick to what you know and do not slaughter chicken mole like you did in your show "beat bobby Flay"

Bobby flay

Love watching Bobby flay. Gives me ideas about different dishes. Only bad part about this show is Sunny Anderson. I swear to god this has to be the MOST ANNOYING PERSON in the world. Also why after only a couple minutes someone has to run over and annoy who ever is cooking. Please get rid of sunny Anderson and Katie Lee both way too too too annoying.

He always uses Some sort of Chili's.

The judges know which dish is which because Bobby always uses some sort of Chili flakes/seasonings. I watched the brunch burger episode. He said he had that in his restaurant as well as she did. When I looked up the recipe he uses there in his restaurant there was no chili peppers anywhere. He added them to the bacon on the show. Well duh.... now they know which plate is his. And let's be honest who in the culinary world voted against a man like that if they know which dish is his. Stop cooking with the chili spices if not necessary in dishes. Gives him the upper hand EVERYTIME.

Lose the idiotic celebrity friends and gain 5 stars instantly

This show has a great premise in that it gives up and coming chefs a 1-on-1 competition against Bobby Flay. There is a lot of creativity and very delicious looking dishes presented on the show.

What kills the show for me is the influx of Bobby's celebrity buddies who all gang up against him in such a contrived way it gets very old, very fast. When they go "bother" him while cooking isn't funny or cute or interesting in any way. Lose the celebrities and play the show more straight and it's a great show.

Almost always predictable

I watch the Beat Bobby Flay program from Nigeria. You can almost always predict that Bobby Flay will win almost every other time because the judges look at their faces and dishes and Bobby Flay will always make facial and body expressions to show that it's his dish being judged.

For FAIRNESS the judging should be BLIND. No one should know the owner of the dish (say DISH A or DISH B) and the chefs should be invited after the results for dishes have been reached by the judges.

Most times I watch I feel like the visiting chef will lose even when it's obvious that Bobby's dish might have received some negatives. My opinion.

Drop the time limits and the annoying celebs

I thought cooking was an art, but they treat it like a game show, especially when they only have a short time to make each dish. It's beat the clock which I think is unfair and dumb. They can edit the show more than they already do.

Otherwise I like the show. I get hungry every time.

I think they can do without the "celebrities" distracting the chefs.

Let them cook in peace!

Bobby seems likeable enough but you can tell he hates talking to anyone while cooking.

I see that he likes tangerine juice and I'm looking forward to trying it sometime.

He wins most of the time but I don't think it's rigged, and he's at a disadvantage when the challenger makes their own signature dish and he has to compete with them.

I gave it a six.

Already know who will win!

I used to enjoy watching this show but the outcome is always the same. The competition topics are entertaining and interesting to see the different directions the chefs take in completing their dishes. However, there were plenty of times when the competitor's dishes were much better than Bobby's, yet he always seems to win. Every show that I have watched always ends with Bobby as the winner. I guess the judges must be biased... it's sometimes pretty obvious which dish belongs to whom. No longer watch the show because I already know who the winner is. Has there ever been a time when Bobby didn't win? If so, how many times has he lost and which episodes?

Winner rule/no chilies allowed!!!

Challenger needs to appoint their dish sans any chilies or hotness. Otherwise basically you're fu$&d !!!

Like, The challenge is Oooy Goooy macaroni and cheese without any chilies or hot spices.

Don't appreciate this show

I usually don't have time to even bother writing reviews for things (let alone Food Network TV shows), but this show is absolutely so ridiculous that I was triggered enough to do so. To have your own show where you have people try to beat you because apparently you are so fantastic is probably the most egotistical garbage I have ever heard of. I don't even get why this dude is so great. Maybe I would understand Gordon Ramsey or something but this dude I don't even respect. His stupid over the top attitude is actually way too much for me to handle. He doesn't even make anything that looks that good or special. Not to mention the annoying people he somehow rakes in to form a measly crowd. They are all obnoxious and obviously have queued reactions. This is THE worst food network show I have ever witnessed. I would rather watch Guy Fieri haphazardly eat a greasy burger than watch Bobby Flay arrogantly daunt the contestants to see if they're "good enough" to beat him. hah. Find another hobby Bobby Flay.

Bobby by any other name

Bobby Flay is a master chef driven by a will to compete - one that oscillates between mania & masochism, placing himself in a ring pitted against carefully chosen opponents & their signature dishes.

What I appreciate about these long-running cooking shows is the evolution of cuisines and the fashionable ingredients chosen in a competitive and time sensitive setting.

The show has a set recipe but one that works week to week year in and year out. Guests are fun & extremely diverse, but all share the want, the need to beat Bobby at what he does best - cook.

He wins most but does lose some & all are worth watching & enjoying.

Predictable, sad.

Like watching a high school clique, this is an embarrassing display of fawning over one person. I'm sure it has appeal to some, but if you're hungry for a legit cooking show, this isn't it. The chefs are interesting, individually; but they appear together so often, the network seems small and ironically stale.

New challengers

This show is an awesome place to get ideas from different sources and regional flavors ....l would like to see a higher level of cooking by utilizing higher quality chefs like the iron chefs or even some other network chefs.
