Of late we don’t see much of Paresh Rawal. This is a pity, really. He is such a fine actor driven by an instinctive empathy with middleclass values. Rawal manages to make every character even in the silliest of films seem vibrant.

Lately in the news for opting out of Hera Pheri 3, in an interview to me in 2007, Paresh had said, “I’m not insecure about money. I’m insecure about good actors. After I watch Naseer or Om perform, I stay awake the whole night. My values are middle-class. I don’t want to be rich. I want to be successful…. I have worked so hard to arrive at this juncture in my career where I can shoulder whole films. But it depends on what you are shouldering.

Maneesh Sharma’s Fan was extremely crucial to Shah Rukh Khan’s career. For the first time, he played his own fan: Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar and the fan.

Fan found Srk chasing himself as he hunts down and confronts an obsessive fan. It’s a unique concept, far removed from what the superstar attempted earlier. More importantly, Fan was a non-festive release. The release of Fan did not coincide with any religious festival.

Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan achieved the nearly impossible task of assembling the biggest superstars of Bollywood for the music video of Deewangi Deewangi from Om Shanti Om. The multi-starrer song had Salman Khan, Priety Zinta, Rekha, Tabu, Karisma Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, and many others in the line-up.

In a conversation with Iftda YouTube channel, Farah shared the difficulties she faced while shooting and that Govinda came 24 hours late. Mike Pinder, who co-founded the Moody Blues and played keyboards and mellotron and sang on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group’s first nine albums, died Wednesday at his home in Northern California. He was 82 and was the last surviving founding member of the legendary British band.

His longtime bandmate John Lodge announced the news on social media via Pinder’s family. “He passed peacefully [and] his final days were filled with music, encircled by the love of his family,” his Facebook post said. “Michael lived his life with a childlike wonder, walking a deeply introspective path which fused the mind and the heart.”

Pinder’s death follows that of fellow Moodys co-founding guitarist Denny Laine in December and drummer Graeme Edge in 2021. Ray Thomas died in 2002 and Clint Warwick in 2004. Lodge and lead singer Justin Heyward joined in 1966.

Mike Pinder, the Moody Blues keyboardist and the last surviving founding member of the Rock Hall-inducted band, has died at the age of 82.

Pinder’s family announced his death in a statement shared with Pinder’s former Moody Blues bandmate John Lodge, noting that Pinder “passed peacefully” Wednesday “surrounded by his devoted family” at his Northern California home. No cause of death was provided.

In their tribute to the “musician, father, cosmic philosopher & friend,” Pinder’s family wrote, “His final days were filled with music, encircled by the love of his family.

Singer-writer-producer Pamela Chopra, who was the wife of filmmaker Yash Chopra, passed away on Thursday at the age of 74 after battling prolonged illness.

She was last seen in the streaming documentary ‘The Romantics’ in which she recollected the journey of her husband Yash Chopra and how the production transformed into a film conglomerate over the years. The documentary focused on the contributions made by Pamela to the studio and how she was the spine of Yrf having excellent people skills in addition to her craft of singing and writing.

The Hindi film industry mourned the loss of Chopra as several film personalities took to their social media to mourn her loss.
