“Dune: Part Two,” “Saturday Night,” “Wicked,” “The Wild Robot,” “Emilia Pérez” and “The Blue Angels” won the feature-film awards at the Motion Picture Sound Editors’ Mpse Golden Reel Awards, which were presented on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

“Dune: Part Two” won in the Feature Effects/Foley category, the Golden Reel category that corresponds most closely to the Academy Award for Best Sound. “Saturday Night” won in the Feature Dialogue/Adr category, “Wicked” for music editing, “The Wild Robot” for animated feature, “The Blue Angels” for documentary feature and “Emilia Pérez” for international feature.

“Dune,” “Wicked,” “The Wild Robot” and “Emilia Pérez” are all nominated for the Best Sound Oscar, which covers both sound editing and sound mixing. The final Oscar nominee is “A Complete Unknown,” which was nominated in the Golden Reel dialogue and music categories but lost to “Saturday Night” and “Wicked,” respectively.

On April 11, 1970, the Apollo space program launched its seventh crewed mission, meant to land on the moon. The mission went horribly awry and was aborted, however, when, two days into the mission, an oxygen tank ruptured, killing both the life-support and electrical systems.

With their ship damaged beyond repair, the three-man crew Commander Jim Lovell, command module pilot John "Jack" Swigert, and lunar module pilot Fred Haise were forced to abandon the ship and transfer to the much smaller lunar module. The comedy Incoming and the documentary series Worst Ex Ever have found huge success on the streaming platform, topping the Netflix titles for this week. Netflix's latest comedy, Incoming, stars Ramon Reed, Raphael Alejandro, Mason Thames, Bobby Cannavale, Kaitlin Olson, Scott MacArthur and Isabella Ferreira, and follows four boys as they navigate their first week of freshman year in high school. Specifically, getting ready for their first high school party, which they are terrified of attending. After its first full week on the platform, Incoming has reached the tippy top with 16.9 million views, up 71% from its debut weekend.

When Apollo 13 was launched into space on April 11th, 1970, it was planned to become the 3rd successful moon landing mission conducted by the United States. However, a severe failure in the spacecraft led to not only the failure of the mission but also to the almost certain possibility of the astronauts losing their lives. Using real footage from the mission and also other relevant footage from NASA expeditions to keep its narrative as close to the real events as possible, Apollo 13: Survival bears visual testimony to the heroic and almost miraculous survival of the astronauts. September is finally here! Time to get out the Halloween decorations and take a look at everything Netflix is adding this week. The new additions include a space documentary, a new crime drama, and another season of a real estate reality show.

First up is Apollo 13: Survival. It hits Netflix on Thursday, Sept. 5 and tells the well-well-known story of the disastrous but overall hopeful mission to the moon. If you haven't seen the Tom Hanks movie of this story, that's a good place to start. Basically, the Apollo 13 spacecraft was running out if oxygen and NASA wasn't sure how to get the astronauts home alive.

It's finally the best time of the year for movies, when all of the biggest titles of the year begin to hit theaters and campaign for those coveted awards. Netflix looks to keep up with the exciting rush of the fall movie season with its own packed slate of original movies starring some of the most talented stars of the screen. The streamer announced its fall movie calendar on Aug. 28.

While most of these movies had been on our radar for quite some time, including Joey King's sci-fi flick Uglies and Rachel Zegler's animated fantasy Spellbound, many of these movies finally received official word on their releases. A handful of Christmas movies, such as Lindsay Lohan's Our Little Secret, and horror titles like Woman of the Hour and Time Cut are some of the top picks this fall.

September means networks are rolling out the good stuff following the summer blahs, and Netflix’s September offerings are no exception.

In addition to “The Perfect Couple” (see below) the streamer’s September offerings include “Emily in Paris” Season 4 Part 2, starring Lily Collins, as well as the downright charming “Nobody Wants This,” a unique rom-com starring millennial aughts TV gods Adam Brody and Kristen Bell — this one will be all over your social media feed, so make sure to binge it the second it drops.

On the movie front, in addition to a slew of old favorites, film fanatics’ best bet is likely “His Three Daughters,” a festival fave starring Elisabeth Olsen, Carrie Coon, and Natasha Lyonne. The film, about three very different siblings coming together in their father’s dying days, is expected to be a major awards contender after premiering at TIFF last year.
