‘Damaged’ Review
Image
Stars: Samuel L. Jackson, Gianni Capaldi, Laura Haddock, Brian McCardie, Vincent Cassel | Written by Paul Aniello, Koji Steven Sakai, Gianni Capaldi | Directed by Terry McDonough

Five years ago, a serial killer terrorized Chicago. Detective Dan Lawson was assigned to the case but couldn’t bring the killer to justice. It left him a badly damaged man, drinking on the job and obsessed with revenge. Doubly so because one of the victims was his own girlfriend whom he discovered, her head and limbs in the shape of a cross, her torso missing.

In Edinburgh, Detective Glen Boyd finds himself investigating a murder that looks to be the work of the same person. He reaches out to the Chicago Pd, who are only too happy to put Lawson on the next flight to Scotland. Fortunately, there weren’t any motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane.

Things, of course, don’t go well.

10 Best H.P. Lovecraft Movie Adaptations
Image
H.P. Lovecraft's work has been adapted for the big screen with varying levels of success, but the best adaptations are often cinematic triumphs. Some of the most notable Lovecraft-inspired films include "The Dunwich Horror," "From Beyond," "In the Mouth of Madness," and "Color Out of Space." Stuart Gordon is one of the best directors to tackle Lovecraft adaptations, with his films "Re-Animator" and "Dragon" standing out as must-sees for fans of Lovecraftian horror.

The work of American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft has been adapted for the big screen countless times with various levels of success. With dozens of short stories, as well as novellas and novels, Lovecraft developed an eerie style that was completely his own and created the influential Cthulhu Mythos, which gave his writing its unique characteristics, identity, and lore. Along with terms such as Shakespearean and Kafkaesque, the phrase Lovecraftian has come to represent its...

‘Phoenix’ Review (Tubi Original)
Image
Stars: Randy Couture, Oleg Prudius, Natalie Eva Marie, Neal McDonough, Rashad Evans, Frank Mir, Chuck Zito, Jonathan Camp, Bai Ling | Written and Directed by Daniel Zirilli

Everett Grant has beef with Russian mobster Maxim Vasiliiv played by Oleg Prudius or if you’re a pro wrestling fan, Vladimir Kozlov. It seems Everett’s security company has been cutting into the Russian mob’s profits and they’re not happy about that. Since Phoenix is an action film, they decide to settle it with a fight to the death. That would be Everett’s death via a bullet to the head made to look like suicide.

WWE wrestler Natalie Eva Marie plays Everett’s daughter Fiona, Phoenix to her friends. She’s told of his death by General Shackleton. She knows he would never have killed himself and decides to put her hand-to-hand combat trainer’s skills to work finding answers.

‘King of Killers’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Alain Moussi, Stephen Dorff, Zoe Worn, Frank Grillo, Gianni Capaldi, Georges St-Pierre, Marie Avgeropoulos, Kevin Grevioux | Written and Directed by Kevin Grevioux

With the possible exception of rock stars and professional athletes, hitmen have the worst record for staying retired. And the central character of King of Killers is certainly no exception.

Marcus Goran was one of the best killers in the business until his boss Robert Xane calls needing him to do a job on his anniversary. We see him trying to pull the job off intercut with his wife getting ready to go out later thinking he’s working late at the office. Then she gets a text, allegedly from him telling her to meet her at the club where he’s stalking his target.

By the end of the night his target is dead, and so is his wife. Now he’s retired and a single...
