Mark Wahlberg in Shooter, tireur d'élite (2007)
Shooter Cast: Where Are They Now?
Mark Wahlberg in Shooter, tireur d'élite (2007)
Bob Lee Swagger remains one of the most badass television characters ever.

The USA Network series, Shooter, was one of the finest, coming at a time when the cable network ran supreme with endless content for everyone's viewing.

With slick action sequences, subterfuge, and adrenaline-pumping thrills, the series, more often than not, was a must-see summer show for three seasons until its unfortunate cancellation.

TV Fanatic followed along with the journey from beginning to end with full coverage in our Shooter Reviews. It is still a perfectly binge-able series that you can stream on Netflix, at least until June 21, when Netflix loses the rights for it.

It bolstered an impressive cast led by none other than Ryan Phillippe. But where is the cast now? Let's find out!

Jaina Lee Ortiz - Angela Tio

Ortiz had a small arc during Shooter Season 2, guest-starring as Angela Tio, a sergeant Bob Lee served with during the Marines.

British Writers Guild Chair on WGA Solidarity: Studios “Are Making Billions,” But “Refusing to Share”
Image
The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (Wggb) on Wednesday joined writers and other workers in the media and entertainment sectors around the world for “Screenwriters Everywhere,” a global day of solidarity with striking Hollywood writers. The goal of the protest organized in central London was to “stand in support of the 11,500 members of Writers Guild of America West and Writers Guild of America East” who have been on strike since May 2.

The Wggb trade union, representing writers for TV, film, theater, audio, books, poetry, comedy, animation and videogames, said its members would meet up at London’s Leicester Square from around 1 p.m. local time, with the meeting point being full of symbolism: a statue of William Shakespeare in the square. Wggb president Sandi Toksvig, known as a book author and former host of The Great British Bake Off, among others, and Wggb chair Lisa Holdsworth (A Discovery of Witches,...

‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Leads a Sunny Summer Box Office Weekend
Image
A better-than-expected showing for “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” (Paramount) is only one reason why this is a good box-office weekend. The expensive Hasbro toy franchise ($200 million before marketing) grossed $110 million overseas, above its $60.5 million domestic take. Greater international strength was expected, and needed: It will need well over $500 million worldwide to cover its costs and there’s intense competition ahead, starting with Warner Bros. Discovery’s “The Flash” June 16.

If summer 2023 has a shot at the hoped-for $4 billion, films like “Transformers” need robust openings. Stage two is sustaining strong runs.

That’s what #2 “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” (Sony) and #3 “The Little Mermaid” (Disney) did to buttress the weekend. The Marvel animated film, faced with the loss of most of its premium screens and “Transformers” competition, grossed more than $55 million this weekend. Ten days in, it’s already has bested the original “Spider-Verse” and stands at $225 million domestic, $377 million worldwide.

Northern Pictures head of factual Karina Holden on ABC show Luke Warm Sex
Karina Holden is the head of factual entertainment at Northern Pictures.

Her list of credits include.Go Back To Where You Came From for Sbs, and.Changing Minds for the ABC..

Her new show is Luke Warm Sex, a six-part series which follows comedian Luke McGregor as he tries to get better at sex with help from sexperts, therapists, scientists, tantric practitioners and sexual empowerment coaches.

Luke Warm Sex aims to fill the gap in sex user guides in the factual landscape, said Holden.

"I had been previously at the ABC and one of the shows I had developed there was Redesign my Brain with Todd Sampson. That kind of immersive journey, where a host gets better at something, was a very successful format for the ABC. The idea was that we could do something similar but unique about sex".

One of Holden's researchers pointed her towards McGregor.

"They said...

The Dish rewatched – heart-on-sleeve drama with a splash of saucer-erotica
If satellite dish porn were a thing, this sentimental account of Australia’s role in broadcasting the Apollo 11 moon landing would be the genre’s pièce de résistance

Making the follow-up film to one of the most beloved Australian comedies of all time, 1997’s The Castle, was never going to be easy for director Rob Sitch and his team of writers: himself, Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner and Jane Kennedy. They are the backbone of production company Working Dog, who have made several hit TV shows (including Frontline and Utopia) and a third, far less impressive feel-good film, the 2012 romcom Any Questions for Ben?

The Dish, an unashamedly sentimental account of Australia’s role in producing signals necessary to broadcast the Apollo 11 moon landing, is a very different kettle of fish to The Castle, being both a rose-tinted celebration of the past and a picture book-style history lesson.

Aussie comedy The Heckler embraces on-demand cinema
The producers of Comedy feature film The Heckler have embraced new Australian on-demand cinema platform tugg.com in a bid get their movie on the big screen..

The new distribution model allows filmmakers to book any cinema, any time as long as there are enough people interested in watching that film at that session. .
