I'll do my best to explain what it felt like to sit through this film: it reminded me of being a kid and getting invited to an event at an acquaintance's house only to feel ignored and left out. Everyone at the event keeps sharing personal stories with each other you know nothing about and telling inside jokes with each other while you feel totally left out and unwanted.
Maybe for someone who was adopted under similar circumstances, this documentary might be interesting or offer some solace. I just can't see any other value in watching it aside from that. The pacing was excruciating and the story went absolutely nowhere.
I forced myself to watch until the end, desperately clinging to the hope that this movie could redeem itself with a banger of an ending. It never happened.
I can empathize with the creator's grueling journey to find out information about his adoption because that's how it felt to sit through this entire film.
I genuinely wish I could get my 90 minutes back. What a tremendous waste of time.
