Sometimes, there are titles that simply get forgotten as the years pass by. It doesn't necessarily mean they are bad, but rather that a series of factors got in the way of wider audiences getting to know it. Back in the early 80s, it was a lot more difficult for Japanese movies to make it all the way to Western audiences. Works like Japanese master Osamu Tezuka's A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose be forgotten to the point of never getting an English dub or a Blu-ray release. This changed this month, with SkySet Entertainment releasing a special edition of the anime classic that is already available for purchase.
In the story, the world is torn apart by a massive entity called the Death Mask that splits in half and wreaks havoc in Kujukuri City, Japan, and Dallas, Texas — both cities are somehow hurled 10,000 years into the future.

For better or worse, isekai is one of the biggest anime genres over the last decade, leading many fans to wonder what the best isekai anime available on streaming are. The genre became famous for showcasing stories of normal people getting transported to fantastical worlds where they're often granted special powers that allow them to save their new world. Though the genre is varied, isekai excels at putting relatable characters in fantastical situations.
With such a large catalog of anime to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which isekai is the best to invest time in, especially when so many series within the genre can have similar-sounding plot lines on the surface. Regardless, there are plenty of isekai worth binge-watching that offer a fun, refreshing spin on the genre. The best isekai anime on streaming shows how broad and varied the genre truly is.

Being an anime fan comes with many perks since there are virtually hundreds of options to explore each month. While it's true that most anime series are released weekly, making it difficult to stay with one, some of these shows, such as Demon Slayer, Bleach, and One Piece, are worth the wait. The recent weekly episodes have been rather remarkable, with anime series like Wind Breaker and Kaiju No. 8 ensuring that viewers have a good time.
Anime lovers, on the other hand, are equally eager about what's to come. So far, this year has been fruitful, with new arrivals such as Solo Leveling and Re: Monster. However, the approaching month alone promises a slew of highly anticipated releases. Keeping that in mind, here's a list of every anime series coming out in July 2024, from the eagerly awaited sequel to one of the longest-running anime series to an intriguing crossover between DC and anime.

A history of underwhelming anime adaptations is one of the most bittersweet things about being a Junji Ito fan. In a sense, the beloved manga creator's works, known for his iconic horror tales and unforgettable, disturbing visual style, stay mostly preserved as a result of a track record of mixed successes. However, for fans of Ito who root for a worthy transposition of Ito from page to screen, the wait for something promising like the plagued Uzumaki can be frustrating.

2024 has been a fantastic year for anime, with several highly anticipated releases such as Solo Leveling, Mashle, and Konosuba keeping fans engaged for weeks. However, we're still in the beginning months of the year, meaning many more titles are bound to be released shortly. As with every year, we have a slew of semi-annual seasons scheduled, with popular titles like My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer being fairly consistent with no delays.
This April saw the release of some of the most anticipated anime shows, including the new adaptations like Kaiju No. 8 and Re: Monster, as well as sequels to the popular anime series like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Konosuba. As we head into May, it's time to look forward to another anime lineup to keep us entertained. Although the coming month has a limited number of titles, you don't want to miss any of them.

It’s a great time to be an anime fan. 2023 was full of great shows, both new and returning. Jujutsu Kaisen returned for an award-winning second season, Demon Slayer reminded fans why they were the best in animation, and One Piece continues to blow us away. And as far as new content, Netflix reminded fans to not count them out when they released Pluto and Zom 100, two of the best new anime. 2024 promises to be an epic year as well.

Re:Monster features unexpected harem scenes, like Gobrou's Libido skill in Ep. 3. More harem content is anticipated in future Re:Monster episodes. Gobrou explores new abilities, hinting at potential seductions and harem plotlines.
Warning: Contains discussions of adult scenes
Isekai is a prolific subgenre of anime with fantasy and RPG elements like in Re:Monster, a headliner for the stacked Spring 2024 season, but viewers are in for a shock with one scene early in the show.
On the surface, Re: Monster is a unique and clever take on reincarnation stories where the protagonist, formerly Tomokui Kanata, lives a new life as Gobrou, a reincarnated goblin. Typical RPG and fantasy adventure gimmicks ensue, allowing Gobrou to build a team of peers, grow stronger, ascend to greater heights of power, and make up for mistakes from his previous life.
Re:Monster is charming as an isekai anime adaptation that closely follows the manga and light novels before it.

Warning: Spoilers for I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability episode 1
Reincarnated as the 7th Prince features a fun twist on the Familiar trope that sets it apart from other isekai. Lloyd and Grim's relationship drives the plot more effectively than in Am I Actually The Strongest. A strong emotional core in 7th Prince enhances its immediate appeal, unlike Am I Actually The Strongest.
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability from Crunchyroll's new Spring season follows the setup of an earlier isekai series from the same platform almost verbatim, as is the case with many titles within the genre. Ironically, the twist that makes this new series fun is in no way proprietary to isekai, but was what initially made its predecessor, Am I Actually The Strongest?, different.

Re:Monster blends monster evolution and devouring abilities in a unique isekai setting. Protagonist Gobrou embraces his new identity as a goblin with overpowered traits. Unlike typical isekai shows, Gobrou's abilities come from his previous life, not the new world.
Warning: Spoilers for Re:Monster episode 1The debut episode of the new Isekai series Re:Monster on Crunchyroll likely appeals to many viewers for a slew of reasons, but it specifically brings together two major formulas from other Crunchyroll series that made each of these successful: The Unwanted Undead Adventurer and Berserk of Gluttony.
Although not actually an isekai, The Unwanted Undead Adventurer incorporated a unique instance of monster evolution for its once-human protagonist Rentt, who sought ways to evolve so he could appear more human after reincarnating as a skeleton. Ironically, each evolution ended up bringing Rentt closer to looking like his original self, even though he didn't actually become more human.
