Ian McKellen Urges Young Actors to Come Out: “Being in the Closet Is Silly”
Image
Sir Ian McKellen has a clear message for young actors hiding their true selves – it’s time to step out and live openly. The legendary actor, known for his iconic roles in film and theater, isn’t holding back. He believes there’s no reason to stay in the shadows, especially in today’s world.

McKellen, who came out as gay in 1988 at age 48, speaks from experience. Back then, he made his announcement during a BBC Radio debate, sparked by a controversial UK law targeting the promotion of homosexuality. Far from hurting his career, it opened doors. He went on to play unforgettable characters like Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and Magneto in the X-Men series, proving that being authentic didn’t dim his star.

He’s adamant about the benefits. ‘I have never met anybody who came out who regretted it,’ he says, pushing young actors to...

The Minions Franchise's 18 Greatest Villains
Image
Minions: The Rise of Gru performed exceptionally well at the box office, indicating that, under the care of the Minions, the Despicable Me film franchise is alive and well. This franchise got its start in 2010 with Despicable Me and continually succeeded with its brand of energetic, family-friendly humor through 2022's The Rise of Gru, the fifth film in the beloved series. One of the most entertaining aspects of the film series is the colorful cast of villains who try to thwart the franchise's antihero, Felonious Gru, or his Minions.

The villains each have a unique gimmick that sets them apart and an ample supply of zany weapons at their disposal. They also have some of the best villain names in the history of villains. Although all the Despicable Me/Minions villains are funny and diabolical in their own right, a few of them stand out from the pack.

Vicious: Dakota Fanning, Bryan Bertino horror film removed from Paramount release schedule
Image
Dakota Fanning (The Watchers) and The Strangers director Bryan Bertino are teaming up for a horror movie called Vicious, which is coming our way from Paramount Pictures… but we don’t know when Paramount is going to decide to show it to us. Originally set to receive a theatrical release from Paramount in August of 2025, Vicious was pushed up to February 28th – but now, Deadline reports that the film has been pulled off of Paramount’s release schedule completely. They say, “The studio is looking to find a better date for the film.”

Scripted by Bertino, Vicious sees Fanning taking on the role of a young woman who is left a strange present by a late-night visitor, and quickly realizes she is fighting for her life after slipping down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.

Fanning is joined in the cast by Devyn Nekoda (Scream VI), Mary McCormack...

Dakota Fanning at an event for Les Guetteurs (2024)

Vicious was initially slated for August 8, 2025 before getting moved up to February 28, 2025. Now, Bertino’s film is currently undated as the studio is looking to find a better date for the film.

Not much is known about Vicious just yet, but the plot follows “a young woman who must spend the night fighting for her existence as she slips down a disturbing rabbit hold contained inside a mysterious gift from a late-night visitor.”

Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, and Devyn Nekoda also star.

Bryan Bertino wrote the script and will be directing the film, an Atlas Independent production. Melinda Whitaker serves as executive producer, with Richard Suckle also producing.

Here’s to hoping Vicious finds a secure 2025 date soon, because Bertino’s most recent film,...

Dakota Fanning's New Shyamalan Movie Looks Like It'll Redeem Her 19-Year-Old Horror Film With 12% On Rt
Image
Dakota Fanning's redemption in horror may come with The Watchers, directed by Ishana Shyamalan. Co-starring with Georgina Campbell and Olwen Fouéré, The Watchers promises a truly terrifying experience. Fanning's horror genre comeback includes another film, Vicious, set to arrive on August 8, 2025.

Dakota Fanning’s new M. Night Shyamalan-produced psychological thriller The Watchers can hopefully make up for her 2005 horror flop Hide and Seek, giving her a much-needed redemption in the genre. The Watchers, which hits theaters later this year, is the directorial debut of Shyamalan’s daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan. Fanning stars as a young woman who is stranded in the woods when her car breaks down. Her character soon wanders into an isolated room containing three strangers and a one-way mirror with mysterious creatures watching from the other side.

Fanning’s The Watchers co-stars – also trapped in this strange room, being watched by the creatures – include Barbarian...

‘Marvel’s Inhumans’: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Alum To Star As Maximus In ABC Series
Image
Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon has been cast in a lead role of Maximus in ABC’s live-action series Marvel’s Inhumans.

Marvel’s Inhumans, which has a straight-to-series order for next fall, will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. In the series, Maximus is a clever and charming Inhuman who is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King – though he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.

“Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and executive producer of Inhumans. “We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

As previously announced, the first two episodes of the ABC series, on which Scott Buck serves as executive producer and showrunner, will premiere exclusively...
