In Little Favour we meet Wallace (Benedict Cumberbatch), a special ops-type guy who is approached by an old colleague named James (Colin Salmon) in order to make good on a lingering debt. James is currently at the wrong end of a bad deal, and needs help to protect his most precious asset. However, some favors ask more of us than others – as Wallace quickly learns when he is plunged headfirst into the midst of the threat James is up against.
Written and directed by Patrick Viktor Monroe, Little Favour is a film that hits the all the right marks of a great short. At approximately twenty minutes long, it tells a dark and thrilling espionage tale with (albeit mostly implied) depth, good character and narrative development, themes, symbolism and ...

Cumberbatch and fellow producers at SunnyMarch talk to Screen about their first film and upcoming slate.
UK-based production outfit SunnyMarch, run by Benedict Cumberbatch, Adam Ackland, Ben Dillon and Adam Selves, is launching with short Little Favour (view trailer here), a £87,000 action-thriller starring Cumberbatch, Colin Salmon and Nick Moran.
ScreenDaily yesterday sat down with white-hot Star Trek and Sherlock star Cumberbatch and his fellow-producers.
“We’re at an exciting juncture,” Cumberbatch told Screen. “We’ve made our first effort as a team and we’re aiming to make a concrete statement in the next few months about what we’re going to do next. We want a varied slate. There will be a feature to announce in the next few months.”
“We have scripts in development and books that we’re looking to option,” he continued. “We have links through my agency here and in the Us to facilitate that. It’s about...

Though he’s one of the most in-demand actors around, Benedict Cumberbatch is also looking to get into producing, and his first job was for a short film called Little Favour, which hits iTunes on November 5. We’ve got a look at the trailer, which you can see below. brightcove.createExperiences();Little Favour tells the story of Wallace (Cumberbatch) as he tries to get over the scars of war and start a life away from the military when his old comrade James (Colin Salmon) calls in a favour. Unable to turn down the man who saved his life, Wallace agrees to help James, but soon finds it may be more than just a little favour… If you’re a fan of sweaty Cumberbatching in tank tops and dealing with nasty criminal types, prepare to get happy. The film was crowd funded raising £86,240 in twelve days, outstripping the original target of...

Benedict Cumberbatch has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, becoming known the world over for his roles in The BBC’s Sherlock, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and most recently Star Trek Into Darkness. But that doesn’t mean the actor only seeks out blockbusters to show off his skills.
That’s clearly evident with his next appearance in the small-scale, indie short film Little Favour. Moviegoers who have yet to see Cumberbatch give up the role of ‘mastermind’ and take a beating onscreen may want to keep an eye out for this one, as the first trailer shows that a “little favour” can have serious consequences.
The film follows Cumberbatch’s character ‘Wallace,’ a former British secret service agent whose life was saved by an American agent in Iraq. Ten years later, that American agent (played by Colin Salmon) returns to cash in ...

Would anyone really have the urge to punch Benedict Cumberbatch in the face? Sure, he was the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness, but even then he was far too grandiose to really deserve a bop on the head. And besides, Kirk tried more than once and just ended up tiring himself out. Well, the teaser for Little Favour does what Kirk never could – give Cumberbatch a serious case of facial bruising. There’s more to Little Favour then just repeated face-punchings, however. Cumberbatch stars as Wallace, a former British military officer suffering from Ptsd. He recieves a call from an old army buddy (Nick Moran), but somewhere along the line things go very, very wrong. Go ahead and check out the film’s teaser below. Cumberbatch’s face-rearrangement won’t be feature-length; Little Favor is a short film, and one made possible through a recent Indiegogo campain. Director Patrick Victor Moran originally asked for £25,000 (about $40,000), but...

After making his mark with the sizzling detective series Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch has become one of the most--if not the most--in-demand young actor out there right now. This year alone he.ll hit theaters in the science-fiction blockbuster Star Trek into Darkness, the Julian Assange docudrama The Fifth Estate, the chilling biopic 12 Years a Slave, the star-stuffed Oscar-bait dramedy August: Osage County, and the much anticipated sequel to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. yet somewhere in between shooting all this and season three of Sherlock, Cumberbatch fit in time to film the thriller short teased above. THR has tipped the teaser for Little Favour, a 22-minute short film from actor turned writer-director Patrick Victor Monroe. He and Cumberbatch first worked together in 2011 on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, in which the latter starred and the former contributed as personal assistant to co-star Tom Hardy. When...

While rumors still continue to swirl as to whether or not Benedict Cumberbatch will reunite with his Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams for the developing Star Wars: Episode VII, the actor has a new project coming sometime down the road. Little Favour is an indie that was funded by way of IndieGogo. Director Patrick Victor Monroe wanted to raise £25,000 for the film, but he ended up earning three times that amount from donors. But the coolest thing, other than the intriguing story, is that Cumberbatch didn't take a fee for starring in the film, showing his passion for the material. Now there's a teaser trailer that's just been unveiled, and this looks like quite the intense indie thriller. Watch below! Here's the teaser trailer for Patrick Victor Monroe's Little Favour from BBC America (via The Playlist): And here's the message Benedict Cumberbatch sent to supporters about the...

Benedict Cumberbatch may be the hot actor in Hollywood right now, but he is still willing to take time out of huge projects to help a friend break into the industry. Cumberbatch stars in the short film Little Favour for rookie director Patrick Victor Monroe. Monroe worked as a personal assistant to Tom Hardy on films like This Means War and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It was on that film that he met Cumberbatch and the two hit it off. Now, Cumberbatch has helped Monroe launch his Indiegogo...

As Benedict Cumberbatch’s career continues to soar, with 2013 being his biggest year yet, it’s nice to see the English actor taking some time away from studio fare to get involved with smaller projects. This one is, perhaps, as small as it gets. And if this teaser trailer is any indication, it involves Benedict getting the beating of his life. First-time director Patrick Victor Monroe wrote this short thriller "Little Favour," which also stars Nick Moran (“Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,” “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”). The short film follows Cumberbatch’s character, Wallace, an Iraq War veteran who’s contacted by a former colleague to help him out on a deal gone wrong. And if trailer is any indication, it looks as if things have gone very wrong indeed. Patrick Victor Monroe went to Indiegogo, back in May to get this film funded and wound up...
