There are bad game launches, and then there’s the kind of launch that makes players question whether reality itself is broken. We’ve seen it before, titles releasing in such an unpolished state that they make you feel like a beta tester who wasn’t told they’d signed up.
But rarely do games manage to claw their way out of the pit of despair and rise to glory. That kind of comeback is reserved for the special few, the ones that refuse to die, the ones that developers actually listen to their community for.

The Battlefield franchise from EA has forever changed how people see military warfare. The games in the series feature a lot of new elements and aspects that make it stand out, but one element that really stood out from the rest of the games is from Battlefield 2042.
Bf Portal was a game mode that combined elements from other Bf games | Image Credits: Electronic Arts
Bf 2042 introduced the first game mode in the entire franchise that featured making your own matches using creation tools. Although the game mode was a pretty good idea, it was misused a tonne, but if EA decides to bring it back in their next installment with some fixes, then it would pretty much change the game and make a lot of people happy, including us.

You finally get your hands on a tank, the ultimate war machine. You roll onto the battlefield, engine roaring, destruction at your fingertips… and then your team’s Tactical Wizard420 immediately drives it into a ditch and bails out. Great. You’re now left with an immobile hunk of metal, while Tactical Wizard is off doing whatever Tactical Wizards do, probably trying to snipe with an Smg.

This is why dedicated vehicle classes in Battlefield 6 could be a game-changer. Unlike Call of Duty, where every player is a Swiss Army knife of destruction, Battlefield thrives on specialization. Players have devised a unique way to counter Strider Convoys, a method made famous by Battlefield. Strider Convoys are a menace in Helldivers 2, and this method is the most efficient against them.

Similar to how car bombs were integral in destroying tanks in Battlefield, players are doing the same thing here. Explosive vehicles are being driven to the heart of the convoy and obliterating them.
Car Bomb is a great counter to Strider Convoy in Helldivers 2
The reign of Strider Convoy’s dominance over the map seems to be nearing an end, especially after players have returned to Battlefield’s playbook and borrowed a trick that is as relevant in Helldivers 2 as it was in Battlefield.

As anticipation continues to build for the next installment in the Battlefield franchise, leaks from the ongoing playtest of Battlefield 6 (or whatever its final title will be) are revealing some very interesting features. The general response from the testers has also been fairly positive.
The anticipation for the title is building. | Image Credit: Battlefield on YouTube
One of the features that really caught the eye was the ability to cling to vehicles. Yes, you read that right. While it seems like a simple feature, it is not present in many multiplayer and if incorporated correctly, it could significantly alter how we approach combat in this shooter.

The Call of Duty community has been hit with yet another “great” announcement from Activision and their band of developers. This time, they are cracking down on the account sellers. But here’s the thing: account reselling is hardly the problem players have been losing sleep over.
Players are frustrated with the lack of attention from developers for the real issues. | Image Credit: Treyarch
What’s really making the life of a CoD player miserable are the Hackers and cheaters. These cheaters are turning every lobby into a pile of garbage. Instead of focusing on that, developers are out here banning account sellers like it’s some sort of big move that will save the game. Spoiler Alert: it’s not.
Developers failing to address the real problem of Call of Duty
Sure, banning account resellers sounds like a good idea, but if we’re being honest, it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

It’s no secret that Battlefield 2042 was one of the worst games to be released back in 2021. The game, made by Dice, really disappointed long time Bf fans by changing crucial aspects of the game during launch and the developers provided weak support even after the initial release of the game.

While the game has been an absolute disaster, a new event in the game might be the secret formula to bring the title back to relevancy. Of course, we are talking about the new 8.6.0 update that is introducing the war machine event. Let’s delve deeper into this.
Battlefield 2042‘s new event might actually revive the game
Battlefield 2042 was a nightmare when it was first launched. The first person shooter game is the twelfth main installment in the Battlefield series and lacked everything that was expected from a Bf game.

The Battlefield series has forever captivated the world with its historical accuracy, and Battlefield 1 is no stranger to that. Although Bf 1 is not entirely historically accurate, the developers of the game, Dice still emphasize the fact that this game is made with utmost precision.

Bf 1 takes place during the First World War, roughly between the times of 1915 and 1918. While the campaign is one of the best ones in the entire franchise, it feels like Dice did not even try to get the most out of the First World War. Let’s delve deeper into this.

Despite being called Battlefield 1, the game is actually the tenth installment in the entire series. The game, developed back in October 2016, featured one of the most balanced implementations of Dice’s Destruction aspect.

Marvel Rivals has been out for months now, giving players enough time to learn the ins and outs of the hero-shooter. Despite that, many in the community still haven’t been able to find their ground in the game’s Ranked mode, as they believe there are a number of flaws within it.

One particular aspect that frustrates Marvel Rivals players is the lack of team-play. However, even the Blizzard game isn’t free from this problem and is in fact, in a much worse state.

EA’s grand vision for Battlefield V was clear, deliver a gripping World War II experience while pushing for a more inclusive and diverse gaming landscape. Instead, it found itself on the battlefield of public opinion, fighting for relevance in a crowded holiday season.
Analysts were quick to raise the alarm, with Cowen warning that the game was lagging behind Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Assassin’s Creed. And just like that, what was meant to be EA’s holiday blockbuster turned into a lesson in market miscalculation.

Electronic Arts’ Battlefield series and Activision’s Call of Duty franchise always had a bit of a rivalry between them. While Call of Duty is more focused on its story and characters, Battlefield prefers to emphasize the gameplay and multiplayer aspect of it. This strategy has more or less kept Call of Duty always ahead of Battlefield and increased the rival gap between them.

In some anime series where physical combat prowess means everything, the girls and women may end up totally sidelined, such as anime like Tokyo Revengers or Dragon Ball Z. In those anime, the girls tend to be non-warrior cast members who act as token love interests or even just plot devices, but not all action anime treat their female cast like that. Plenty of action anime make sure there are at least a few girls and women who can match the men on the battlefield, or even surpass them.
Those anime series admittedly favor male fighters over female ones, most of all in numbers, but the fact remains female fighters can hold their own in such anime universes. Plenty of female warriors in those franchises are stronger than a majority of the men, often because magic powers or weapons act as equalizers between the sexes. And even if female fighters...

Just when you thought it was safe to put down your controller, Treyarch has decided to tease what might be the most anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies map yet. The developer dropped a cryptic image yesterday that sent players into a frenzy faster than a horde of sprinters on round 30.

But it’s not just what we’re seeing that has players excited—it’s what we won’t be seeing when the map drops. And this particular absence might just help a lot of high-round players sleep better at night.

More leaks have surfaced, showcasing the Battlefield 6playtest, and while fans are thrilled to see destructible environments, they are concerned that another disastrous launch could be imminent. It is no secret that the release of Battlefield 2042 was a bit of a mess and faced heavy criticism for "misleading" marketing tactics. With those memories in mind, fans are worried that the devs will see such positive feedback on the leaks and end up throwing the title into the ether prior to fully polishing it.
A recent Reddit post from user Caledor152 shares the leaked footage from Battlefield 6, which features a player destroying buildings using their weapon. Destructible environments have been praised in previous Battlefield titles, as players can thrash a building with a camper inside and force them down to their level. While the thread follows that positive sentiment, others are concerned that this will end up forcing another launch before Battlefield 6 is fully ready.

Here we go again. The first Battlefield Labs playtest for the next entry in EA’s shooter franchise kicked off on March 7th, and surprise, surprise—footage leaked faster than you can say “tactical sprint.” Within minutes, gameplay videos from the modern-day setting were spreading across Reddit, Twitter, and every gaming forum in between.

And just like clockwork, the hype train left the station. Players are already praising the return to a Battlefield 3/4-style setting, the enhanced destruction, and the clean Ui. The comments sections are filling with excitement about the Abbasid map and the return to class-based gameplay.
But amid this frenzy, a vocal group of veteran Battlefield players is waving red flags so big they could cover the entire map. They’ve seen this movie before, and they know exactly how it ends—with disappointment, patches, and...

Battlefield and Call of Duty forever had a rivalry between them. Their rivalry has been a sort of motivation for both the games’ developers to pump out something new and exciting every year. Although Battlefield never surpassed Call of Duty, that doesn’t mean EA did not even try.

There was one sequel that EA planned on releasing in response to Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but that sequel was eventually shelved due to America’s prevailing political conditions. Of course, the game we are talking about is Battlefield Hardline 2. Let’s delve deeper into why the game was canceled.

Let’s be honest here, Battlefield 5 wasn’t one of the best entries in the franchise. However, it brought a number of new and unique features that we’d never seen before in Battlefield games. Its maps were gorgeous, combat mechanics were refined, and there were tons of customization options.

The last release in EA’s Battlefield franchise was Battlefield 2042. The game is solely a multiplayer experience, something we hadn’t seen in the franchise before. EA’s top executives had high hopes for the game. However, upon release, it became clear that the title needed more time in the oven.

At launch, the Dice game was bashed by players and critics left and right. Players couldn’t understand why Dice ditched some of the core aspects of the Battlefield franchise in favor of chasing industry trends. Worst of all, the game was filled with server issues, bugs, glitches, missing features, and much more.
Many in the community regard 2042 as a flop. However, the guy EA has put in charge of the future of the franchise still appreciates the game.

Polaris drops players into a world where rebellion and resistance offer the sole hope for a planet oppressed by an authoritarian power. This sci-fi cooperative extraction shooter presents players as Skylancers—skilled warriors fighting against overwhelming control through intense battles.
The game distinguishes itself through dynamic environmental interactions where every battlefield becomes a zone of tactical destruction. Players can strategically demolish structures, create new pathways, and transform the landscape during combat.
The game explores resistance themes through an action-oriented gameplay experience. Mission objectives involve targeting critical enemy locations and executing strategic extractions from dangerous territories.
While the environmental destruction mechanic introduces strategic unpredictability, the narrative remains minimal. The game prioritizes high-energy combat and player agency over detailed storytelling, delivering a streamlined experience focused on moment-to-moment action and tactical gameplay.

The Battlefield franchise has recently presented EA with its fair share of difficulties. Every major Bf game released in the past ten or so years, with the exception of Battlefield 1, seems to have had its share of problems. No entry has made this more evident than Battlefield 2042 in 2021, which undoubtedly contributed to the alienation of the majority of the fan base and caused them to lose sight of the series’ former glory.

Similar way, EA has also fallen short of Actvision’s Call of Duty, which was once considered to be a mouth-watering battle. And with the cancelation of several Bf titles along with Bf 2042‘s utter failure, that battle doesn’t seem to be reviving itself. That is why EA needs to bring back its another franchise which has the potential to go toe-to-toe against Call of Duty.

Battlefield 4 was one of the most iconic games in this popular franchise. It also became one of the fastest-selling games after its release in 2013, but it also had its fair share of problems due to the brand-new Frostbite 3 engine used at that time. Before BF4, this particular game engine was never used.

But the developers at that time at Dice took the risk of implementing this unsteady gaming engine into their newest title and fortunately, it turned out in their favor. It had initial hiccups, but those were fixed by several patches, and after that Dice never had to look back. But it’s pretty commendable how big that risk was.

Remember when Overwatch 2 was supposed to be the next big thing in hero shooters? Well, two months into 2025, and NetEase’s Marvel Rivals isn’t just eating Blizzard’s lunch—it’s raiding the whole damn kitchen. With a whopping 33 heroes at launch and player numbers that would make even Tony Stark’s ego look modest, this newcomer means business.

The numbers tell quite a story: while Overwatch 2‘s Steam player count has nose-dived by nearly 40% since December, Marvel Rivals is busy breaking records left and right. We’re talking 640K+ concurrent PC players at its peak—enough to populate a small country of superhero enthusiasts. But it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about what’s cooking behind the scenes.
And if game director Thaddeus Sasser’s previous hints are anything to go by,...

Fresh off shooting Trigger Warning in the U.S., starring Jessica Alba, Indonesian filmmaker Mouly Surya quickly launched into completing her fifth feature film, independence epic This City is a Battlefield, which stars Chicco Jerikho, Ariel Tatum and Jerome Kurnia.
This City is a Battlefield will serve as the closing film for the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) on the evening of February 8.
The prolific writer-director has also finished shooting her next film, Tukar Takdir, based on an anthology of short stories.
This City is a Battlefield was adapted off a 1952 novel titled “A Road with No End” by Mochtar Lubis, which had been sitting on Surya’s bookshelf untouched for a while.
“I happened to read it by chance,” said Surya. “I had just read a few pages of it, I could not forget the images that it brought to my mind. The prose is written in such a...

It is quite an interesting choice for the largest film festival in the Netherlands to close with a film that explicitly denounces the violence of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia, but one can always expect interesting choices from the International Film Festival Rotterdam. This year’s closing film, Mouly Surya’s “This City Is a Battlefield,” takes place in Jakarta in 1946 as Nationalist leaders have declared independence but the city remains under Dutch control, with tensions escalating to bloody, violent clashes.
Speaking with Variety ahead of the festival gala, Surya says she doesn’t think “kids learn about Indonesia at schools in the Netherlands” but she’s been surprised at the conversations she’s had since arriving in Rotterdam. “There are different versions of history depending on who is telling it. I’ve been meeting people who have connections to that part of the country’s history, whose grandparents were in...

There’s no doubt that the Og Modern Warfare series (2007-2011) is regarded as the best gaming series not only in the CoD history but also in the entire gaming fraternity as well. There were efforts from Activision to reach those heights with another Modern Warfare trilogy starting from 2019 to 2023, but it was impossible to touch that legacy. However, there’s always an evergreen question, “Is the latest Mw series a remake or a reboot of the Og series?” The Infinity Ward devs have the answer.
