The music in the trailer is performed Mongolian folk metal band The Hu.
Set on the Predator home-world, Predator: Badlands features a complete written and verbal Predator language created by Paul R. Frommer, the linguist who developed the Na'vi language for Avatar (2009). Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who plays the lead Predator, Dek, learned the language for the role and delivered his lines while wearing a full Predator suit created by Alec Gillis. Unlike previous Predator films, Dek's face is CGI rather than animatronic, allowing the actor's facial performance to be conveyed via motion capture.
Director Dan Trachtenberg says he's also working on another "secret Predator movie that will come out before the theatrical" release (i.e. Badlands), implying that it will be direct to video and perhaps animated. This ended up being Predator: Killer of Killers (2025).
First trailer has revealed Elle Fanning's character is in fact a Weyland-Yutani synthetic with the logo appearing in her eyes thus confirming this movie to take place in the Alien universe.
This is not a sequel to the 2022 movie Prey, but it is set within the Predator universe.
