Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills, the duo who directed the hit 2014 horror film Cryptic began shooting Genesis, India's first sci-fi film, in the UK from this week. The film being produced by Sheetal and Bhavna Talwar, is being made on the same scale as sci-fi classics like the Star Wars series Gravity and Inception. Though the Talwars are not willing to divulge the exact budget, it is reported to be close to 80 million dollars. Laughs Sheetal Talwar, "Why are we talking dollars when the film is being produced by us and being shot in the UK? But yes, jokes aside Genesis is a very expensive and ambitious film. First film in pact World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen underway.

UK distributor Anchor Bay Entertainment UK has signed a co-production and distribution agreement with UK production outfit Next Level Films.

As part of the deal Anchor Bay UK will retain worldwide sales and distribution rights to the first film to come out of the partnership, World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen, which was co-developed by the partners and on which shoot is now underway.

Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills (Cryptic) will direct the found-footage horror, which Next Level Films will produce through its genre label Atomic Level Films.

Ray Panthaki (28 Days Later), Wendy Glenn (You’re Next) and Kacey Barnfield (Resident Evil) will star in the feature, which follows a TV documentary team that uncovers an army of the undead while traveling through the Somme battle fields.

Synopsis

One night. One crypt… A crypt to which eight members from various reaches of London’s underworld are sent to guard a coffin. Why? Nobody knows. And nobody knows what’s inside said coffin, not even the bloke that organized its purchase and delivery. All the group have are their orders: to guard it with their lives... literally.

But soon old grudges and new animosities start to flare up, making it almost impossible for the group to stick to their orders, all worsened by the rumor that a vigilante bumping off their men on...
