The following contains spoilers for various manga's endings. Proceed with caution.
Last January, Yoshifumi Totsuka's mangaUndead Unluck released its final chapter after being published by Shōnen Jump for five years. Avoiding manga spoilers, "Chapter 239: Deadluck" will satisfy fans, even if they know they'll miss Fuuko Izumo and Andy. To most people, this may not seem like a big deal, since every manga eventually ends. Undead Unluck's anime just started, meaning fans still have a lot of time to spend with their favorite unlucky and undying heroes.
However, Undead Unluck's recent conclusion is a lot more significant than even the most dedicated manga reader may realize. Undead Unluck concluded just a week after another Shōnen Jump title — Hitsuji Gondaira's Mission: Yozakura Family — ended after six years of publication. These titles ended so quickly after two of Shōnen Jump's biggest hits finished their stories in the same year. Undead Unluck...

Official Blue Lock series artist Yusuke Nomura has taken to social media to hype up a brand-new manga coming to Weekly Shonen Jump, calling it and its own artist -- a well-known acquaintance of his -- 'scary.'
Embers is a new soccer-focused manga set to debut in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #10, written by Kei Kurumazagi and illustrated by Soutarou Nishii. The story will center on Haitani, a delinquent who is very good at fighting, and his introduction to soccer. Manga fans have been showing growing excitement for the title, as it is reminiscent of classics like Slam Dunk. Nomura, seeing some strong competition for Blue Lock in the newcomer, has joked that Nishii is "out to crush" Blue Lock. His good-natured support isn't all that surprising, given that Nishii was originally a staff member of Blue Lock's manga team and was responsible for many of the dynamic backgrounds.

Hitsuji Gondaira’s Mission: Yozakura Family concluded its run of over 5 years with chapter 258 in the 8th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, released on Jan 20, 2025.
The manga creator marked the occasion by reflecting on the series’ success and the support it garnered over the years.
Thank you so much for reading Mission: Yozakura Family! I think this might be one of the luckiest works in Jump’s history. I was blessed to have such amazing readers and people involved with the series.
Honestly, I’m a bit nervous that I’ve used up all my luck and life will hit me hard, but for now, I’ll cherish this happiness with all my heart and keep moving forward.
I hope to see you all again somewhere someday!

When people look at Shonen Jump these days, its easy to notice how many of their biggest manga are coming to a close. Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia are over, Jujutsu Kaisen is nearly done, and even some of the lesser series like Mission: Yozakura Family are in their last arcs. Its easy to wonder where all the major shonen titles are coming from.
However, Shonen Jump is much bigger than just Weekly Shonen Jump, and there are plenty of new titles coming out all the time. Some of them are brand-new, others have been around for a while but dont have an anime yet. For fans who focus mainly on mainstream shonen series with anime, theres still some manga they should pay attention to for their potential to be the next big deal.

Anime Expo 2024 was a raving success. The ease of access and the amazing floor layouts made getting through the halls this year so much easier than ever before. The inclusion of more food trucks, stalls and extended hall hours made for an amazing combo, as well. Previously, halls opened at 10am, but this year opened at 9am, giving you a whole extra hour to be able to run to your desired booth! But one booth you didn't need to worry about having difficulty getting too was Hulu's Animayhem booth, which was located at the very front of the entertainment hall.
Just by entering the hall you could find yourself standing before their giant gates clad in Black with vibrant green lights, with a large tv display constantly playing trailers and presenting booth info luring your eyes into the booth.

It's never been a better time to be an anime fan when it comes to the extreme ease and accessibility that's become the norm, thanks to robust streaming services like Hulu. Hulu is a top streaming service that doesn't specialize purely in anime, but for a few years now they've put extra effort into leading the charge in both adult animation and anime through their "Animayhem" initiative. Hulu has become one of the most reliable services when it comes to anime consumption, for both new and nostalgic content. Hulu has amassed an impressive library of anime film and series that includes more than 250 anime series, 435 seasons, and more than 18,400 episodes.
Additionally, Hulu carries subtitled anime that's available in its original Japanese, as well as English dubs, which help cater to all sectors of the anime fandom. Hulu's anime library continues to grow and 2024 has been a particularly fortuitous year for the streaming service.

If you haven’t taken the leap to bundle Disney+ and Hulu, it might be time. Streaming is only getting more expensive and competitive, and the enticing bundle (which also includes ESPN) might be a version of cable TV, but it’s also just cost efficient. Disney+ and Hulu are so intertwined that their monthly listing updates come in the same email — and as such, we decided to compile them here for you in the same list.
Whether you have Disney+ or Hulu, or both (and the IndieWire staff has weighed on our favorites), each has its benefits. Disney has the family-friendly titles, the Star Wars and Marvel (new episodes of “The Bad Batch” and “X-Men: 97” continue through April), while Hulu is the place to catch FX originals and network episodes. Both streamers have the rights to distribute National Geographic titles, which are well worth exploring along with the rest of the library.
