Must Watch

Both actors Anjan Dutt & Aparna Sen are amazing, performance is convincing & very hard hitting.

One of the best Bengali films in recent times.

Film is very simple & its beauty lies in its simplicity.

Even their home, it feels very real. In some films we have seen, the house looks very typical set-like house, they never feel like a home but in this film even the home feels so homely and real.

& the climax . . . It will hit hard . . you have to think about it after finishing the movie

Director Parambrata Chatterjee is great filmmaker who has already created some really good films like "Sonar Pahar", "Boudi Canteen", My most favourite of his works "Abhijan" & he shows his potential again as a filmmaker again in "Ei rat tomar amar" too.

Boring, monotonous, waste of time

The movie is a futile exercise to create a cerebral, emotional drama with a social message. But the flawed screenplay, shoddy script and lackadaisical acting performances from the cast, makes it very challenging to even watch for more than 10 minutes.

Really, what was the director thinking while making this movie? Was he trying to win a national award or festival awards or critical acclaim? Or, was he creating something remotely entertaining.

I strongly believe that movies should be made for entertainment first and foremost, then it can wrap in some sort of social messages with smart scripts and presentation.

But if the very objective of a director is to take up an award-winning project, then the very intention behind the creation becomes questionable.

This movie is a classic example why Bengali cinema has lost its sheen and respect at the national and international platforms.
