Netflix’s adaptation of Harlan Coben‘s I Will Find You novel is ready to name its leading man as Sam Worthington joins the cast. Based on Coben’s best-selling novel, published in 2023, Netflix’s I Will Find You is an eight-episode series and the first of Harlan’s projects under his exclusive deal with the streamer.

According to reports, Sam Worthington plays David Burroughs, “an innocent father serving a life sentence for the murder of his own son — a crime he didn’t commit, yet a tragedy he punishes himself for every day. When David receives evidence that his child may still be alive, he must break out of prison to find out the truth.”

After finishing up production last year, the unlikely duo will be starring in Fuze, which also boasts a stacked supporting cast. The action sequence was filmed on Monday morning (September 16) in Wrotham, England. From the looks of the photos, it appears as if Theo was handcuffed and being held captive. Aaron was dressed in full army gear.

The film opens on the discovery of a World War II bomb found at a construction site in London, which causes a mass evacuation of the area…but a group of men use the mass-chaos that ensues as an opportunity for a heist. Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will also star, THR reports.

David Mackenzie delivers a tight thriller with “Relay,” premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Riz Ahmed as Tom, who operates as sort of a middleman between corporate whistleblowers and the companies. The extremely clandestine Tom operates in a morally ambiguous area until Lily James’ Sarah engages his services. What follows becomes a cat and mouse game and a mix of high and low tech that climaxes in a tense twist, with some shade thrown at corporations, too. Black Bear reps international rights for the thriller, while CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group are handling the U.S.

The director behind “Hell and High Water” and “Under the Banner of Heaven” is currently close to wrapping his next film, “Fuze,” which is filming around London and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson. “So it’s been pretty intense, sort of complex, kind of heisty type thing all around London.

Amid major movie market upheavals, Leone Film Group is still the main Italian distributor of top-notch English-language indie film fare, spanning all genres with titles from directors such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

But while in the past Leone Film Group relied on output deals with U.S. indies, such as Lionsgate and Spielberg’s Amblin, these days “we supply ourselves from whomever has worthy product,” says its head of acquisitions Francesco Polimanti. Kraven the Hunter director J.C. Chandor teased what fans should expect to see from Sony Pictures next Marvel movie. Before signing on for Kraven the Hunter, Chandor is best known for his work in the acclaimed 2014 crime drama A Most Violent Year, which was led by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain.

Speaking with Deadline, Chandor continued to hype up his upcoming live-action film adaptation of Kraven the Hunter, promising that fans will definitely be surprised at what theyve got in store for them. "Im extremely proud of the work we have all done together on Kraven, and when the movie finally gets its chance to be seen I think its gonna surprise the hell out of a lot of people," he said. The outlet notes that the films multiple release delays were necessary for Chandor, because it gave the creative team the time "to sharpen the characters and tighten the plot.

When Sébastien Raybaud founded Anton in 2011 (as Anton Capital Entertainment), his first major deal proved to be groundbreaking for the European film industry.

Although institutional slate financing had been a regular practice among U.S. studios (Raybaud himself helped arrange several deals during his time on the film arm of investment bank Société Générale in London), it just wasn’t being done on the continent.

“There was a disconnect,” he says, pointing to the money that was available in the U.S. compared to Europe. So Anton was originally set up to “marry big investors with the industry.” It did just that with a €150 million (($160 million) three-year slate-financing deal with StudioCanal using U.S. fund Falcon, with the cash injection helping bankroll both the hugely successful “Paddington” and “Shaun the Sheep” franchises, kickstarting a period of significant growth for the Vivendi-owned studio.

‘Paddington 2’ actor, Brendan Gleeson, has joined the cast of the ‘Spider-Man Noir’ series set at Amazon.

Gleeson will star in the series opposite the previously announced series lead Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris was also recently announced to have joined the cast. Titled ‘Spider-Noir,’ was ordered to series in May with Cage in the lead role.

As previously reported, the show will debut globally on Amazon Prime Video.

The series will follow an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City. Here he’s an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator during the Great Depression, and the show will be set in its own universe.

As speculation has built over whether or not Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be the next James Bond 007, the man himself has been preparing for his next film role. Off the back of his supporting turn in this summer’s The Fall Guy, he’s now taking on the lead role in a heist thriller by the name of Fuze.

Nicholas Galitzine has signed on to play the role of ‘He-Man’ in the long in development ‘Masters of the Universe project at Amazon MGM.

The project has had a turbulent ride to make it to the big screen starting life at Warner Bros. and Sony before moving to Netflix, which scrapped the film in 2023 over budget concerns.

Based on the 1982 action figure. Plot details are being kept under wraps. However, according to a prior synopsis from the studio, the movie follows Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man, who crashes to Earth in a spaceship as a child and, decades later, returns to his home planet to defend it from the evil forces of the baddie known as Skeletor. But to defeat the powerful villain, he needs to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man, referred to in this world as “the most powerful man in the universe.”

The financing allows Anton to expand its feature film and television series development and production slate.

The feature film development team plans to produce 10 features per year, focusing on European English-language projects aimed at a global audience, specifically genre titles, including action, thriller, elevated horror and sci-fi.

Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete writer-director S Craig Zahler has a new film in the works. The Bookie & The Bruiser will star Vince Vaughn and Adrien Brody.

Ever since he made his eye-catching debut with 2015’s horror western Bone Tomahawk, S Craig Zahler has established himself as a specialist of tense, gritty films about tough men backed into even tougher situations.

Zahler’s latest project, The Bookie & The Bruiser, sounds similarly uncompromising. A period piece set in late 50s New York, it’s about two World War II veterans, one Jewish, one Italian, who team up to create an “illicit gambling operation”. Their new enterprise soon gets them in trouble with Irish gangsters and the Mafia.

Writer-director S. Craig Zahler (“Bone Tomahawk”) is set to reunite with his “Dragged Across Concrete” and “Brawl in Cell Block 99” star Vince Vaughn and Oscar winner Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”) for upcoming crime thriller “The Bookie & the Bruiser.”

Anton will introduce the film to international distributors at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes. UTA Independent Film Group and Range Media Partners arranged the financing and will be representing the North American distribution rights.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will star in Hell Or High Water director David Mackenzie’s British thriller Fuze, due to start filming in June.

As we reported in February, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is going to be leading the cast of a new British-set action thriller titled Fuze. While rumours regarding the actor’s chances of being the next 007 refuse to go away, Taylor-Johnson looks to have secured himself another chance to build on his excellent action credentials.

The film is being directed by David Mackenzie, the filmmaker behind 2016’s hugely underrated Hell Or High Water, a Texan bank heist drama starring Chris Pine that is well worth seeking out if you haven’t seen it yet. Following that, Mackenzie collaborated with Pine again on 2018’s Outlaw King, although that film released to a more muted reception.
