Rejoice! The new golden age of animation may yet live! The runaway hit series Star Wars: Visions has been reportedly renewed for a second season due to air later this year on Disney+.

While there has been no official confirmation from Lucasfilm, the wide circulation of the reports as well as the huge popularity of the series should make it no surprise that the Japan-produced animated anthology has a future.

Visions was praised for its originality that stemmed from the episodes taking place entirely outside of the established canon of the main Star Wars continuity. This gave writers an absolute maximum of creative freedom, and boy did they deliver.

With this in mind, let’s take a look back at some of the shorts that are more than deserving of having their little breakaway corner of the galaxy continue in one form or another. Here are four Visions shorts that absolutely need sequels.

The Texas Senate has unanimously passed a bill that, if enacted into law, could potentially criminalize the possession of anime, manga, and video games featuring characters appearing to be minors in “obscene” situations.

Senate Bill 20, aimed at combating the creation and distribution of Csam, includes depictions in “cartoon or animation” within its definition of prohibited visual material.

Senate Bill 20 is set to take effect on Sep 1, 2025, provided it is passed by the Texas House of Representatives and signed into law.

The bill, which seeks to amend Chapter 43 of the Texas Penal Code by adding Section 43.235, defines an offense as knowingly possessing, accessing with intent to view, or promoting obscene visual material containing a depiction that “appears to be of a child younger than 18 years of age engaging in activities described by Section 43.21(a)(1)(B)“. The activities described by Section 43.21(a)(1)(B) refer to depictions of s*xual conduct.

But while this is a unique take on the isekai genre, its reliance on tokusatsu tropes makes one wonder why the series was an isekai anime rather than a traditional anime take/adaptation of tokusatsu properties. This is especially true, considering the central Sentai team is leaning heavily on these tropes.

Crunchyroll just dropped some exciting news—Colombian singer J Balvin is stepping into the world of Solo Leveling. He’s joining the English and Spanish dub casts for Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- as Kargalgan, a character set to make his English dub debut this Saturday, with the Spanish dub arriving on March 1.

This season kicked off on January 4, with Crunchyroll streaming both subbed and dubbed versions. Kentaro Miura's popular Berserk manga series has received a new graphic tees clothing collaboration and acrylic pins, featuring characters like Guts and Griffith, along with iconic moments from the famed dark fantasy story like the Eclipse.

The Natalie Store has opened pre-order sales for new Berserk graphic tees, including short and long-sleeve versions, alongside merchandise like acrylic pins. Following news of Gainax's bankruptcy in recent days, a Japanese research company has revealed the extent to which the iconic anime production studio, initially co-founded by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno in 1984, was in debt.

Via Animenomics, the Japanese data researcher Tokyo Shoko Research estimates that Gainax owed around 380 million yen (US$2.42 million) to around 71 creditors before its bankruptcy. The anime production company filed for bankruptcy on May 29, 2024, which was accepted by the Tokyo District Court on June 5, 2024.

With the show’s first season ending in June, Delicious in Dungeon announced that the complete season will get special screenings in Japanese cinemas this June and July.
