I didn't expect such a funny movie. It reminded me of other funny movie with God and religion. This one is a must to see. The rhythm, the action, the suspense of what's going to happen next. Thanks to the team made of Gregory, Max, Franck and more. Salam/Shalom a tous.
It introduces us to the world of jail, and some of the religious elements. It includes score of archetypes about them but mixes them with humor (Jewish cooking, religious dress code, sentences like Next year in Jerusalem).
The characters are masterfully interpreted, and I wish a sequel should be made when people realize that this type of movies are good for peace and for understanding that even bad things can bring good outcome.

Just watched the U. S. premiere of Neuilly Poissy at The Lot in La Jolla during the San Diego French Film Festival - and what a pleasant surprise!
The director was there in person, along with Max Boublil. I didn't know much about the film going in - didn't even realize it was based on a true story, inspired by someone very close to the director. That alone adds another layer of depth to it.
This film is a little gem. Uplifting, funny, and full of heart, Neuilly Poissy delivers a powerful message about unity and living together as one community, beyond backgrounds and beliefs. It's a beautiful lesson in humanity, served with humility and redemption.
I especially loved the way it handled humor around what could be considered religious taboos - smart, inclusive, and unifying. That's not easy to pull off.
Honestly, this film deserves a much wider audience. In fact, it should be shown in jails - its message could resonate deeply with people trying to rebuild their lives. How about making a US REMAKE?
If you get the chance, don't miss it. It's now available on VOD.
Bravo to the whole team behind this beautiful story - and thank you for having us!
