With Warner Bros. Discovery caught up a storm of complaints surrounding the canceled Coyote Vs. Acme movie, and the eradication of the Looney Tunes franchise from Max, it is only fitting that the ghost of another highly controversial scrapped project is coming back to haunt them. Newly unearthed fight footage from the Leslie Grace-led Batgirl movie, has renewed questions about why Wbd decided to completely abandon the project.
The footage, which features stunt performers Emely Cartagena, Scott Rogers, and Stephen Dunlevy, reveals one of the fight scenes that would have featured in the movie. As you would expect, there are some comments that have said it is probably best the movie was never released, but the vast majority disagree, and now just have even more reason to berate the studio over their decision.

While it once seemed improbable, it looks like Coyote vs. Acme may soon be coming to a theater near you!
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the animated/live-action hybrid feature from Warner Bros, in a deal that's estimated to be in the $50 million range. The independent distributer-financier previously rescued The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is currently playing in theaters.
In recent years, Ketchup has also been behind the releases of Weekend in Taipei, Goodrich, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Memory, Ferrari, Hypnotic, and Bushwick.
The trade does note that the deal could still fall apart, but things are progressing in the right direction for now. If/when the deal is finalized, expect to see Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters sometime in 2026.
The studio previously tried to sell the film early last year for approximately $70 million, which is believed to...

Losing a dream role can still sting many years later, which appears to be the case for Katie Cassidy. The actress portrayed the fan-favorite role of Laurel Lance/Black Canary on The CW's Arrow for four seasons before she was killed off in 2016. The news of Cassidy being told about her demise wasn't exactly handled the best way, and now the actress is revealing why she believes her time on the series came to an end.
During an appearance on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Cassidy went into detail about her Arrow character being killed off and how she found out about it. News of a character's death was teased at the start of the season, but Cassidy didn't think it would be her. In a case of terrible timing, the actress found out it was her who would be meeting her end while traveling to a...

Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be working on Scream 7 – but that project turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. While he has since been replaced on Scream 7 by Kevin Williamson, he has been busy lining up other genre projects, signing on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad and the “fast-paced thriller” Drop. Coming our way from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise, Drop moved forward first, and is aiming for an April 11th theatrical release. With that date swiftly approaching, a featurette has arrived online to give Landon a chance to discuss his “suspenseful, exciting, emotional” film, which he describes as a blend of Hitchcock and the style of ’90s thrillers. You can watch the featurette in the embed above.

Rumors continue to heat up for the first Star Wars film released in theaters in over five years. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is set to premiere in the summer of 2026. One rumor and question are whether Katee Sackoff will reprise her role of Bo-Katan Kryze in the film.
The actress has portrayed the character in both live action and voiced her on various series for the franchise. She has been a hit with the fanbase and starred alongside Pedro Pascal in Season 3 of The Mandalorian series.
The actress thus far has not given much out in terms of whether or not she will appear in the upcoming movie. When asked at an Indiana Comic Panel about a possible return, Collider shared Sackoff's response.
"I have not been in the armor in 2025," said the actress. Though, it was reported that she had a big grin on her face when she made the statement.

2023 was a disastrous final 12 months for the Dceu. For many moviegoers, Black Adam was the straw that broke the camel's back and Warner Bros.' decision to begin the year by unveiling DC Studios plans for a Dcu reboot made it clear Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom didn't matter.
Each of those movies underperformed and even the Aquaman sequel failed to make a splash anywhere near as big as its 2018 predecessor (it grossed over $1.1 billion compared to the follow-up's $439.4 million).
In the weeks leading up to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's release, it became clear that Jason Momoa's time as the King of Atlantis had ended. There was some vague chatter about him perhaps playing Lobo in the Dcu but, as time passed, it started looking like James Gunn and Peter Safran had no intention of bringing him back into the fold.

Katie Cassidy faced a tough moment in her career when she learned her character, Laurel Lance, also known as Black Canary, would be killed off on the CW show Arrow. She had been part of the series from the start, appearing in its first four seasons. The news came in 2016, catching her off guard just days before the episode was set to film.
She shared her feelings on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, Inside of You, saying, “I had to eat some humble pie when they killed me off that show. It was really hard.” Cassidy felt a mix of emotions—sadness, shock, and even anger.
She remembered being on a call with producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg, who told her, “Listen, unfortunately I have to tell you you’re the one that’s in the grave.” That moment hit her hard, especially since she loved playing Laurel...

Katie Cassidy, who played DC heroine Black Canary in the Arrowverse, opens up about her controversial Arrow death. While Arrow may have ended nearly half a decade ago, one of the most discussed aspects of The CW drama to this point is the unexpected death of the Black Canary during season 4, as Cassidy's character was murdered by Damien Darhk. Even though it didn't take long before Cassidy was back in the Arrowverse, killing Laurel was heavily criticized by fans and critics alike.
On the latest episode of Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Cassidy was the featured guest, and one of the big topics that was discussed was the controversial death of Laurel Lance in Arrow season 4. During her podcast appearance, Cassidy opened up on her experience both with the death scene and in the time before the episode was going to be filmed, as she shared the following:...

Katie Cassidy played Arrow's Laurel Lance and while her transformation into Black Canary was a little convoluted, fans embraced the character and weren't happy when she died in season 4.
That came as part of the big "Who's in the grave?" mystery that lasted right up until Damien Darhk killed Lauren in a moment that faced a significant amount of backlash at the time.
During an interview with Michael Rosenbaum, Cassidy reflected on being dropped from the series and initially not being concerned about Black Canary being in the grave when the season 4 premiere aired. However, things changed in the build to that year's New York Comic Con.
Arrow showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy sent an email to the cast - shortly before they'd be filming the mystery character's death scene - and Cassidy recalled, "For whatever reason, my stomach just dropped. I immediately text Marc Guggenheim, who I adore,...

You can take the man off Broadway, but you can’t take the Broadway outta the man.
Case in point: During Season 1 of The Irrational, we quizzed star/producer Jesse L. Martin about whether his character, Dr. Alec Mercer, would eventually sing on the procedural — and he was pretty firmly against the idea. “Singing is such a big part of my life. I still do it every single day of my life,” he said at the time. “But, it doesn’t mean it’s apropos for every single character I play.”

With her role as Laurel Lance, also known as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy played one of the biggest roles on the hit Arrowverse series Arrow. At one point, however, she was killed off, a decision that gave her a flurry of emotions at the time.
Cassidy discussed her time on Arrow during a recent interview for the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, per Deadline. She recalled how she learned of Black Canary's death in 2016 after she served as a big part of Arrow for the first four seasons. Famously, the season started with the reveal that a character's death would happen, though it wasn't until later that it was revealed to be Laurel. Despite that big tease, Cassidy was still quite shocked when she realized she was the one on the chopping block.

While it was her role as ex-Mossad agent Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious franchise that put Gal Gadot on the map, her real breakthrough came after being cast as the Dceu's Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
A small but memorable supporting role saw her Diana Prince team up with the Dark Knight and Man of Steel to battle Doomsday. Talking to Variety, Gadot credits filmmaker Zack Snyder with creating the first big screen Wonder Woman as we know her.
"Zack Snyder really had the vision for Wonder Woman," she told the trade. "To do the solo Wonder Woman movie with a partner like Patty Jenkins was life-changing. I think we both felt like we were just a vessel to tell a story that is much bigger than us, that the world was ready for - a complete, empowered woman who is strong and at the same time vulnerable.

It's remarkable how Sean Connery continues to define James Bond some 65 years after he first debuted in "Dr. No," the film that kick-started cinema's most enduring franchise. By way of comparison, the equally enduring pop culture figure of Batman hasn't had quite the same cinematic trajectory. For example, an entire generation of fans grew up with Michael Keaton as the Batman, but today, the youths couldn't care less about the man's tenure as the Dark Knight, as evidenced by the fact that "The Flash" became a box office disaster of superheroic proportions despite featuring Keaton's less than triumphant return in the cape and cowl.
Meanwhile, while Bond fans undoubtedly gravitate towards whichever actor happened to be portraying 007 during their formative years, there's always a hushed respect for Connery, even among those who swear Roger Moore's more playful spy was the greatest on-screen iteration of the character. The fact that...

James Gunn is so back and this time, he has brought David Corenswet with him. Probably creating one of the best Superman movies of all time, the world is very excited (and worried) about James Gunn’s Superman.

Fans are worried about James Gunn’s love for humor

On March 18, 2021, Zack Snyder's Justice League premiered on HBO Max. While it did little to sway the filmmaker's detractors, most DC fans seemed to agree that it was a huge improvement over Joss Whedon's 2017 theatrical cut.
Warner Bros. allowed Snyder to add new scenes to the movie, many of which set the stage for his unmade sequels. Then, there were the teases already in there from back when he was essentially in charge of the DC Extended Universe.
Four years later and over two years after DC Studios was formed to reboot the Dceu as the Dcu, it's pretty obvious Snyder's Justice League sequels won't happen. It's hard to say why we've never got an animated or comic book follow-up, but in this feature, we're taking a closer look at the biggest unresolved plot threads and what, if anything, has been revealed about the filmmaker's intentions for them.

Superheroes are like pizza toppings, some are spicy, some are cheesy, and some are just different combinations of the same ingredients. While Marvel fans boast about their underdog heroes with emotional baggage, DC fans know their heroes as the gods of the comic book world. But what if some of these gods were just… different flavors of Superman? That’s exactly what Avengers director Joe Russo seems to think.

FBI star Zeeko Zaki has addressed the likelihood the show will bring back his character Omar Adom "Oa" Zidan's sister Amira. Cynthia Hamidi originally played Amira in Season 1 of the CBS procedural.
Viewers learned early in FBI's run that, since the Zidan children lost their father at a young age, they developed a dysfunctional relationship. Oa admitted he and Amira had a strained relationship as adults because he'd acted more like a father than a brother to her while growing up.
FBI Star Addresses Possible Return of Oa's Sister Amira
Speaking to TVLine, Zaki revealed that, while there are no plans yet for Amira to return, there is a reference to the character "in the episode we’re filming now." The actor wouldn't give away the context of the reference, but he insisted "everything is good" with Amira.

FBI has just announced who will be playing the new man in Isobel’s life, and it’s a face well known to TV viewers!
FBI has often put the focus more on the day-to-day cases than the private lives of the agents. There have been exceptions, such as Oa bonding with his girlfriend Gemma, including a recent episode where their romantic trip was interrupted by a hijacking. There’s also Maggie wrestling with raising the daughter of a late friend while Scola and co-agent Nina are raising a child.
Jubal has also gotten some good focus reconciling with his ex-wife as they raise their son. That’s left Isobel (Alana de la Garza) mostly out of the loop in terms of any romantic or private talk.
That’s why it was so surprising when Season 7, Episode 11 had Isobel talking to Oa after the latter was troubled on a case.

Disney’s Snow White won’t hit theaters until March 21, but for the team at the Mouse House, that date can’t come soon enough.
The female-skewing live-action event pic, which remakes Walt Disney’s cherished 1937 animated classic, has been under fire for years on social media due to a combination of the film’s progressive creative decisions and star Rachel Zegler’s controversial comments, while also suffering from culture-war attacks that seemed doggedly determined to torpedo the perceived “woke” film no matter what.
As a result, Disney is handling the movie’s rollout in some unique ways.
In news that broke earlier this week, Disney is taking next-level measures to stage manage the film’s world premiere in Los Angles on March 15. While the event won’t be scaled back, as some headlines claimed, the studio isn’t allowing regular red carpet press to attend in order to prevent Zegler and Gal Gadot,...

Smallville captivated audiences during its heyday in the 2000s, but a wave of nostalgia for Superman's origin story has revived its popularity. From TalkVille, the rewatch podcast hosted by Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum—whoplayed Clark and Lex on Smallville—to the buzz surrounding James Gunn's Superman reboot kickstarting the Dcu, it's clear that the CW series has burst back into the cultural conversation.
James Gunn's acknowledgment of Smallville as an influence on his vision of Dcu's Man of Steel has reignited interest in the series, attracting new and returning fans. Yet, theSmallville renaissance is bittersweet for longtime fans. Warner Bros. enlisted the director of Guardians of the Galaxy to lead the Dcu following lackluster performances in Superman's recent theatrical releases—a maddening turn of events for Smallville lovers who, for decades, have campaigned for Welling to get a chance to play Superman on the silver screen.

Off the back of a busy European Film Market, leading Spanish sales agent Latido Films has picked up Gracia Querejeta’s tenth feature, “The Good Luck,” screening in competition at this year’s Malaga Film Festival.
“The Good Luck,” based on leading Spanish novelist Rosa Montero’s title of the same name, turns on Pablo, who decides to get off the train at a seedy town and buy an old, run-down apartment across the tracks to begin a new life as if he weren’t the renowned architect he actually is. He might be running away from someone, or something, or even from himself. Everything in town seems to be stagnating except for Raluca, an optimistic woman open to any surprises that might change her life for the better. She’s decided to trust her luck, even if life hasn’t always been kind to her.

Hello, “You.”
All eyes are on Penn Badgley‘s Joe Goldberg in the trailer for the fifth and final season of psychological thriller series.
“You” centers on Joe, a book-loving hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking and killing the women he claims to love, as well as anyone who gets in his way. While Joe’s search for The One began in New York, it took him to Los Angeles in Season 2, then to the suffocating suburbs of San Francisco in Season 3, and then to London in Season 4.
Across the pond, Joe was thrown into a 1%-skewering whodunit that forced him finally to accept he’s not a good man — an undeniable truth he avoided for far too long as bodies piled up around him. At the season’s conclusion, Joe returned to the Big Apple with his wealthy partner Kate Galvin and a new lease on life… or so it seems.

The Hunting Party has used some talented guest stars as their serial killers.
We’ve landed a massive one for The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 6. The spoilers indicate that David Ramsey will portray Arlo Brandt, a hoarder turned serial killer.
This will be exciting since it will reunite Arrowverse actors David Ramsey and Patrick Sabongui, who worked on The Flash as John Diggle and Captain Singh, respectively.
(David Astorga/NBC)
John Diggle was mainly a hero, so seeing Ramsey portray a serial killer will be intriguing. We hope more of his fans will tune in for this one.
Additionally, since Hassani and Bex learned about Silo 12’s existence, they will likely poke Oliver for more information.

Reacher star Alan Ritchson was a fairly popular pick to play Batman even before he made a massive impact in the title role in the Prime Video series, but the fan-casts really picked up when DC Studios' co-head James Gunn announced that a new actor will play the Dark Knight in the planned Dcu The Brave and the Bold movie.
For his part, Ritchson has fully leaned in to the campaigns, expressing interest in donning the cape and cowl on a number of occasions.

The Spanish crime drama follows a Civil Guard sergeant and a U.S. Army agent as they uncover dark secrets in a small town.
Time to head to Spain - at least on screen. “When No One Sees Us” is Max’s first-ever Spanish-language original, and it’s diving straight into a world of crime, corruption, and long-buried secrets. Set during Holy Week in Morón de la Frontera, the show follows a Civil Guard sergeant and a U.S. Army special agent as they investigate two separate cases - only to realize they’re tangled in the same dangerous web. With Maribel Verdú (“The Flash”) and Mariela Garriga (“Mission: Impossible 7”) leading the cast, plus an early film festival debut that turned heads, this one’s got all the makings of a must-watch thriller. “When No One Sees Us” premieres Friday, March 7, on Max, with new episodes dropping weekly.

James Gunn and Peter Saffron's new DC Cinematic Universe is bringing in an entirely new cast, but it’s also bringing back a lot of familiar faces. Well, David Ayer's Suicide Squad isn’t considered to be one of the strongest efforts from the previous canon of the DC Extended Universe, one of the elements that was highly praised with the chemistry between the cast. One squad member, who didn’t receive any real development or deep exploration whatsoever, turns out to be one of the most interesting characters in the comics. The casting of Karen Fukuhara as Katana had a lot of potential, but the film ultimately failed to use her in...

The Batman villain Harley Quinn made her debut on the "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes "Joker's Favor", where she was voiced by actress Arleen Sorkin. The character was envisioned as a clown-like moll for the Joker, and was given a ditzy personality and a broad Noo Yawk accent. She proved to be so popular that she was eventually incorporated into Batman comic books, and soon grew to have titles of her own. Over the years, Harley Quinn has appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, most recently played in live-action by Lady Gaga in "Joker: Folie à Deux."
Fun trivia: Harley Quinn was actually preceded by a very, very similar character called Prank (Corinne Bohrer), a clown-like moll to a very Joker-like villain named the Trickster (Mark Hamill) on a 1991 episode of "The Flash." Whether or not the makers of "Batman: The Animated Series" were aware of Prank is a matter of speculation.

A lot hinges on Superman being a hit this summer. If the movie fails, then it won't be good for DC Studios and could bring a swift end to the Dcu - beyond the projects already being shot - before it even gets started.
It's doubtful that Superman will bomb but certainly not impossible. Superhero fatigue does appear to have set in among moviegoers and the DC brand has been badly damaged by Dceu projects like Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and The Flash.
During a recent interview with Esquire España (translated by Cbr), Superman lead star David Corenswet was asked about his Dcu future and largely shrugged off the question.
"I don't think it's up to me to answer that," he told the site. "It's up to James Gunn, who has a terrific imagination, and he is just there where they need [him] to be to say what was written,...

Jason Bateman said Matt Damon was such a huge fan of Arrested Development that he wanted to be cast in the movie. Bateman said that's a long shot now, asserting that the project has been shelved indefinitely.
Jason Bateman was blunt when asked about the Arrested Development movie. "I don't think anybody gives a s***," he told Conan O'Brien, asserting that it will never be greenlit. "I think it's done." Bateman's update is disappointing to fans hoping for the adaptation since the 2019 series finale. He confirmed the movie would have double down on the meta commentary. "The story of the Arrested Development movie would be that in the show, [where] Hollywood wanted to make a movie about [the Bluth family], and we certainly couldn't play ourselves, because we're not actors," he teased.
