Only a few characters in cinematic history have captivated the audience as much as Bruce Wayne, an enigmatic billionaire who takes on the role of Batman, a vigilante. There have been numerous cinematic iterations of this character, and each director has managed to offer a fresh perspective. However, Matt Reeves’ approach to The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson ventures into uncharted territories.

Pattinson’s Batman isn’t a charmer like Christian Bale’s or Ben Affleck’s Batman, he comes off as more reserved and brooding in his Bruce Wayne form. Reeves’ has a profound explanation for this artistic choice, and if you love the DC character, the director’s intent will undoubtedly move you.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman was able to craft a take on The Dark Knight that was unique and well-made. Reeves in particular had really thought about how he would present Batman, a role essayed by Robert Pattinson, in a unique way. Speaking on The Treatment podcast, Reeves revealed his unique take on Batman, and how one of the aspects of that was explored in one scene.

The scene in question here appears early in the film, where Batman rescues a subway user from a gang of goons with face paint. This has Batman declaring that he is ‘vengeance’ before he proceeds to beat them up. However, this scene, while looking like a rescue, actually has Batman indulging in his coping mechanism.

Following the 2014 film The Treatment, the Belgian director is now adapting another book by the British writer of fiction noir Mo Hayder. Belgian director Hans Herbots has just kicked off filming on Rituel, which is another adaptation of a work (Ritual) by British author Mo Hayder. Hans Herbots made his name internationally by way of The Treatment, released in 2014, but he has also directed series such as Riviera, and The Serpent starring Tahar Rahim, which proved a hit with UK audiences on the BBC and will soon be available worldwide on Netflix. And whilst the novel Herbots is adapting is once again a work by English author Mo Hayder, the story unfolding in Rituel is resolutely Belgian. The film introduces us to Kiki, an underwater investigator for the criminal police. From the very outset of her career, she has had to contend with the sexist comments and attitudes...

It won’t take long for 2021 to get a bonkers new television series thanks to the debut of “History of Swear Words” on Netflix at the start of the new year. The six-episode series hosted by Nicolas Cage tells the origin stories of some of the most widely used curse words around the world, from “fuck” and “shit” to “bitch,” “dick,” “pussy,” and “damn.” Produced by Funny or Die, “History of Swear Words” looks like a riff on Comedy Central’s dearly departed “Drunk History” with an added dose of Cage insanity.
The official “History of Swear Words” synopsis from Netflix reads as follows: “An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn’t know you needed. ‘History of Swear Words,’ hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science, and cultural impact of curse words.”

The passing of famed British actor Ian Holm has been mourned throughout the film world, but especially by “Lord of the Rings” fans who enjoyed his performance as Bilbo Baggins. “Ian was such a delightful, generous man. Jackson would go on to discuss how Holm would do multiple takes of a scene, trying different ideas he came up with on how to play Bilbo. The biggest challenge came during a brief scene at Bilbo’s birthday,...

Netflix has not forgotten about Mindhunter after all.
Mindhunter executive producer/director David Fincher announced during an appearance on The Treatment‘s Elvis Mitchell podcast, that Season 2 will premiere on Friday, August 16.
What's more, the second season will span eight episodes, two fewer than the freshman run.
The freshman run aired on Netflix back in October 2017, so fans have been on tenterhooks eagerly awaiting a premiere date for the new run for quite some time.
The best part of this news? August 16 is not that far away, so there's that.

Netflix’s Mindhunter is set to return for its second season on August 16 – nearly two years since the launch of the crime drama.
The series, which stars Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, initially launched in October 2017 and was quickly renewed for a second season a month after its debut.
The second season is thought to pick up between 1979 and 1981, a couple of years after season one and is expected to focus on the Atlanta child murders, where at least 28 people were thought to have been murdered in a short period of time.
The release date was first revealed by executive producer David Fincher on Kcrw’s podcast The Treatment before being confirmed by Netflix. Fincher exec produces alongside Charlize Theron, Joshua Donen and Cean Chaffin. It was created by Joe Penhall.

Charlize Theron teased in May that the long-in-the-works second season of “Mindhunter” would debut on Netflix in August, and now co-executive producer David Fincher has revealed the date: August 16. The “Gone Girl” director announced the premiere date during an interview with Elvis Mitchell on Kcrw’s “The Treatment” podcast. Fincher also cleared up speculation and confirmed the Atlanta Child Murders, Charles Manson, and Son of Sam are all integral to new episodes. The filmmaker also verified the involvement of “The Assassination of Jesse James” director Andrew Dominik.
“I got a call from Andrew Dominik who had seen the first season and said, ‘I’d really like to do something with Season 2,'” Fincher said. “We brought him in. When God gives you a really great idea, take it. When we first sat down he said, ‘What is it about this world that seems so American? There is something going on here.

Elvis Mitchell has built his reputation on his ability to talk to filmmakers, but his new TV show is all about using that ability on a whole new level.
After a long career that’s included writing for the La Weekly, The Detroit Free Press, and The New York Times, Mitchell is currently the host of the Kcrw radio show “The Treatment,” but the new Epix series “Elvis Goes There” gave him the opportunity to do something on a whole new level. The show documents him teaming up with various filmmakers to explore cities that reflect their work: In this first batch of episodes, he wanders Oakland with Ryan Coogler, Paris with Sofia Coppola, London with Paul Feig, and Los Angeles with Guillermo del Toro.

Donald Glover made an unexpected appearance at Film Independent’s “An Evening With…” series on Tuesday, held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills and presented by the HFPA.
Joining “Black Panther” composer and Childish Gambino collaborator Ludwig Göransson, who was the subject of a Q&A conducted by “The Treatment” host Elvis Mitchell, Glover emerged wearing a burgundy track suit and sunglasses to rousing applause and launched into the hit song “Redbone,” which had been rearranged by Göransson’s wife Serena to include a string quintet along with African conga in addition to the traditional electric bass, guitar and keyboards.
The performance was the last in the hour-long event highlighting Göransson’s work. Earlier in the evening, a drum ensemble performed score music from pivotal scenes in “Black Panther,” as did the quintet. Göransson also led band members in music he composed for the movie “Creed,...

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross just got off tour. They also just got out of the recording studio. These are not contradictory statements. In recent months, it’s been Nine Inch Nails by night, film scoring by day — sometimes right up to the moment they walk on stage. They wrapped up work on Jonah Hill’s directorial debut, “Mid90s,” in hotel rooms and backstages in England, and finished the music for the A24/Netflix apocalyptic thriller “Bird Box” here in the States on the first leg of Nin’s U.S. tour. It sounds like a recipe for nerves as frayed as the typically anxious sounds of Nine Inch Nails suggest, yet they seem tighter as friends and collaborators than ever… no downward spirals here.
Reznor and Ross will soon take up the second leg of the Nin tour, with some two dozen dates booked through the end of the year.
