Marrying women to spiritual entities, like trees, stones, and even animals, has been a standard practice in many religions—perhaps to protect their maiden status before they find a suitable husband. However, as innocuous as the whiter side of it is, there is a darker bargain on the flipside of these strange marriages—an example being married to the devil. It is essentially like any other Faustian bargain, where a person signs a contract with the devil. She becomes the devil’s bride, and in return the devil takes care of her earthly pleasures.
