The talented and ever-charismatic Jensen Ackles and Justin Hartley are no strangers to the small screen, with both fan-favorite leading men having starred in a slew of smash-hit shows throughout their illustrious respective careers. Ackles is perhaps best known for his sensational tenure as the tough-as-nails demon hunter Dean Winchester in the dark fantasy knockout Supernatural, a beloved role he portrayed from 2005 to 2020 and one that helped the series become a certified cult classic.
Likewise, Justin Hartley skyrocketed to prominence when he joined the decorated ensemble cast of the tear-jerking drama This Is Us, appearing alongside famous faces like Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. The hype surrounding Mike Flanagan’s upcoming Exorcist project gets more intense as days roll by, but there are also so many thoughts about the previous installments that heavily bombed at the box office. It took many years in between before the franchise produced follow-ups, simply because it wasn’t meant to be a cinematic universe.

What’s more upsetting is the fact that Guillermo del Toro almost helmed the unfortunate 2005 prequel movie, Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist, which already leaves us fans thinking he could have singlehandedly saved it. The project eventually went to Paul Schrader.

The fourth Jurassic World film, Jurassic World Rebirth, has dropped its teaser and will be released in theaters in July. It also marks the first Jurassic World film not to feature Chris Pratt in the lead role. His films were all billion-dollar hits, putting huge pressure on his Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson, who will lead the new film.
Audiences initially doubted the Parks and Recreation actor’s ability to shoulder such a huge responsibility. However, his Marvel role in Guardians of the Galaxy restored the fans’ faith in the actor after he underwent an immense physical transformation.

Movie promotion has taken on many shapes over the years and one of the more polarizing methods has been utilizing the social media following of celebrities to spread the word about a project. On paper, it seems fairly innocent since the reach of most well-known Hollywood stars is pretty vast, and posting about their films on their Instagram or Twitter is cheaper than any television spot. On the other hand, it has some negative implications. Some people are hired because of their immense social media following, while others who have decided to stay away from it for personal reasons are asked to do so to promote a film. Scarlett Johansson found herself in the latter position with Universal Pictures when they recently asked her to join Instagram to promote Jurassic World Rebirth. The actress has no social media presence and decided to stay true to those convictions.

Bambi: The Reckoning ,From Disney Darling to Public Domain exploitation (And Why Your Childhood is Officially Cancelled)
So, Bambi, that wide-eyed fawn who taught us the harsh realities of forest life and the importance of not trusting men with guns, has officially kicked down the velvet ropes and stumbled into the chaotic mosh pit of the public domain. Yes, folks, as of January 2021, Bambi is free! Free to be… anything. And by “anything,” I mean apparently, a vengeful woodland terror.
Now, it took a few years for the creative minds of the “Poohverse” to realize the potential. Apparently, someone finally yelled, “Wait a minute! We can make Bambi a slasher flick!” And thus, a cinematic masterpiece was born.
Because, clearly, nothing says timeless childhood classic like turning your favorite animated characters into vengeful monsters. The Poohverse—a horror-themed cinematic experiment that began with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey—set the stage for this twisted reimagining.

In the history of blockbuster filmmaking, there are few franchises that can compete with the sheer might of "Jurassic Park". Dating back to Steven Spielberg's groundbreaking 1993 adaptation of Michael Crichton's "Jurassic Park," this has been the definitive dinosaur movie series, so much so that nothing has even come close to stepping on its turf.
Once "Jurassic World" came out in 2015 and shattered box office records, it became clear that this was more than just a one-trick pony. This was a massive global monster that has transcended generations with seemingly no end in sight. As the future of this franchise continues to unfold with the upcoming release of "Jurassic World Rebirth," we're taking the opportunity to look back at the history of this franchise as a box office juggernaut.
Which of these movies reigns supreme at the box office? Does the perceived quality of each movie align with how much money it made?...

Jurassic World Dominion(2022) is the sixth entry in the Jurassic Park franchise and follows in the wake of the events of 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. At this point in the franchise, dinosaurs have spread out across the globe and are being captured and exploited by the uber-wealthy to further genetic research. It's a good movie, and fans can check it out on streaming when it hits Peacock on March 2.
Dominion sees the return of classic Jurassic Park characters Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Alan Grant (Sam Neill), who team up with the Jurassic World protagonists Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard). The Jurassic Park franchise has long thrived on the people's unified intrigue with the Cretaceous era. Dinosaurs roamed the Earth some 66 million years ago, and their fossilized existence in the ground has perpetually piqued the people's interest. The Jurassic Park movies have been able to surface a primal love of creature features and adventure on the big screen.
Fans have come to love and appreciate the thrill of a good dino chase or a battle where the human characters are essentially out of their depth. However, despite trying to keep things scientifically sound, the Jurassic movies have culminated in a long list of mishaps and illogical details. As a result, there are many elements from the movies that have never made sense, even decades after their release.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always benefited from highly skilled and popular actors who bring Marvel comic characters to life. The biggest MCU movies have had massive star power with the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson, and even those who joined the franchise as relative unknowns have launched massive careers thanks to their MCU roles.
The original Guardians of the Galaxy were fairly obscure comic characters by the early 2010s, but the MCU changed that in Phase 2 with the cast's excellent portrayals of Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and plenty of other members that have joined the team over the years. These skilled actors have been involved in many projects across genres and mediums that MCU fans will likely also enjoy, from Parks and Rec to Star Trek to The Walking Dead.

The Jurassic franchise is getting another reboot of sorts with Jurassic World Rebirth, which serves as a standalone sequel to 2022's Jurassic World Dominion. None of the previous stars of the Jurassic World or Jurassic Park IP are returning, and a brand-new cast, led by Scarlett Johansson, will take on another dinosaur adventure that hopes to entice moviegoers. The film is the seventh installment overall of the brand, and while the films have proven to be financially reliable, the number of views the first trailer for Rebirth scored in its initial 24 hours is a bit concerning when compared to other major summer releases that have unveiled first looks.

Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park has long been seen as one of the best science fiction movies ever made. However, director Gareth Edwards, who helms the franchise's seventh installment, Jurassic World Rebirth, recently shared why he considers the 1993 movie to also belong to the horror genre.
Speaking with Vanity Fair earlier this week ahead of the release of the first Jurassic World Rebirth trailer, Edwards opened up about the pressure he initially dealt with regarding living up the high bar that Spielberg set with the original Jurassic Park movie, which he believes is a horror movie disguised as family-friendly fare. "Jurassic Park is a horror film in the witness protection program," Edwards remarked. "Most people don’t think of it like that. We all went to see it as kids. Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, marking the next chapter in the long-running franchise. Directed by Gareth Edwards and featuring a screenplay by Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp, the film is set to take audiences into uncharted territory when it arrives in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 2nd July 2025.
The trailer teases a high-stakes action thriller where the remnants of Jurassic Park’s past collide with a desperate race for scientific discovery. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, dinosaurs remain in isolated equatorial zones, their numbers dwindling due to inhospitable global conditions. At the centre of the story is an elite extraction team led by Zora Bennett, played by Scarlett Johansson, who is tasked with recovering genetic material from the three largest dinosaur species still in existence. Their DNA reportedly holds the key to revolutionary medical advancements—but recovering it will be anything but straightforward.

It's no secret that the past three Jurassic World movies have been a bit divisive among fans. Starting with 2015's Jurassic World, the new trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard moved far away from the core formula of the original movie by having dinosaurs gradually make their way out into the world at large, where they caused all sorts of chaos. Universal capped off that series with Jurassic World Dominion, a huge crossover movie which saw the return of original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. Since Dominion was marketed as the "conclusion of the Jurassic era," it felt like it could be a proper capstone to the series.
It was and it wasn't. Yes, Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters are seemingly on the shelf along with other franchise alums, but Universal is powering ahead with a new Jurassic World film due out this summer.

Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey are setting out to save the “Jurassic World” franchise.
Following the lackluster 2022 film “Jurassic World: Dominion,” “Jurassic World: Rebirth” is taking its title quite literally. The original “Jurassic Park” scribe David Koepp, who wrote Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic, penned the script; “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards is behind the camera.
The fourth “Jurassic World” film is set five years after the events of “Dominion,” with Johansson and Bailey’s respective characters tasked with securing DNA samples from three specific kinds of dinosaurs that span the air, land, and sea. Remember, after “Dominion,” the planet has become inhospitable to dinosaurs as a whole, with those that still exist have been isolated to environments that mimic the conditions in which they once thrived. Yet it turns out that the three biggest creatures in the tropical biosphere have materials for a drug that could save human lives. It...

It’s been less than three years since the release of Jurassic World Dominion, but you can’t keep a good (or even an increasingly not-great) franchise down. And the new trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth can at least promise us Scarlett Johansson as a badass covert operative and Jonathan Bailey as a glasses-wearing dinosaur expert.
The new film is set five years after Dominion, as a team hunting for genetic samples heads into one of the few tropical regions on Earth where dinosaurs still roam.
Jurassic World Rebirth is the seventh film in the Jurassic series, which began in 1993 with Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. The most recent film, Dominion, seemed to wrap up a number of key character stories, which is why previous franchise cast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Chris Pratt don’t seem to be on the cast list for Rebirth.

For a good while now, the Jurassic franchise has been in disaster movie mode. The Jurassic World trilogy was all about spectacular destruction, whether it was the fall of the theme park in World, the volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar in Fallen Kingdom, or the eco-collapse themes of Dominion. But as cinema’s biggest dinosaur saga rumbles into a new era with Jurassic World Rebirth, there’s a different flavour in store. Gareth Edwards’ film looks to be something of a proper adventure movie in the Spielberg mould – sending a team of scientists on a quest to a hitherto unexplored dino island, collecting all-important samples of the very thing the series has always hinged on: “dino DNA!” Check out the trailer here:
While it sounded like the Jurassic franchise was going dormant – if not extinct – with 2022’s Dominion, there’s plenty to look forward to in this relatively speedy return.

It's been just two and a half years since "Jurassic World Dominion" brought the latest "Jurassic" trilogy to a close, but it's already time for a new era full of dinosaurs and humans trying to co-exist. Universal Pictures has now revealed the first trailer for this summer's "Jurassic World Rebirth." As the title implies, this is viewed as a fresh start for the franchise, complete with new human characters and a new director -- and yes, new dinosaurs. You can watch the trailer for yourself above.
The director in question is Gareth Edwards of "Godzilla" and "Rogue One" fame, who seems perfect for the "Jurassic" franchise. Noticeably absent are any familiar faces, including Chris Pratt's Owen Grady or Sam Neill's Alan Grant. Instead, Universal has lined up a new, all-star cast led by Scarlett Johansson ("Black Widow") as Zora Bennett. Even though there is a lot of new stuff on the table here,...

Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey face no shortage of peril in the first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth.
Universal Pictures released the promo for the dinosaur-focused franchise’s new film that hits theaters July 2, 2025. Director Gareth Edwards’ movie also stars Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain and Ed Skrein.
In Jurassic World Rebirth, only a limited number of dinosaurs remain and reside in specialized biospheres, and three of these creatures hold the key to a potentially life-saving drug. Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) attempts to secure the genetic material from the dinosaurs but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret being kept from humanity for decades.
The new feature takes place five years after the events of filmmaker Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World Dominion, the franchise’s previous installment that hit theaters...

Today is officially a big news day for the most annoying person you know. While most other blockbusters tend to take over the spotlight, from galaxies far away to godlike superheroes and everything in between, let us never forget that there exists a passionate and extremely nerdy fanbase obsessed with the coolest movie monsters of them all: dinosaurs. The recently-completed "Jurassic World" trilogy may have put a slight damper on things for us -- in case you have chosen to forget, the critically-derided "Dominion" decided to spend an unseemly amount of its runtime on a plague of giant locusts, for some reason -- but we're back and ready for more kaiju-sized punishment. The franchise shows no signs of slowing down, and for once that doesn't sound like a threat.

Later this year, Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures are reviving their long-running Jurassic franchise for yet another walk in the park. Or in the world at large, I suppose, considering that the last entry, Jurassic World Dominion, saw dinosaurs get out and repopulate planet Earth. Kind of. Because after they repopulated, people just stuck most of them in a nature preserve so that the movie could remind people of other entries in the franchise.
Now, another Jurassic World movie is coming, and it's best if you don't think too hard about it. If it sounds like I'm particularly salty about this, it's because I am. Before we talk about why, check out this new image that Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released today, showing off the two leads of Jurassic World Rebirth — that's Scarlett Johansson as skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis...

While three years between sequels isn’t unusual, the Jurassic World series from Colin Trevorrow that starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard had concluded its run in 2022 and there would usually be some time to let a franchise rest before a new continuity or reboot began to take shape. However, Universal has already signed, sealed, and is delivering a new chapter in the series spearheaded by Steven Spielberg’s original cultural phenomenon.
The official Jurassic World social media page has released a brand new look at Jurassic World Rebirth. In the new image, the film’s stars, Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, are extracting from an egg in a dinosaur nest, which is in a very temple-looking location. Could this also be a nod to Spielberg’s other cinematic classic, Indiana Jones? Check the new image out below!

Michael Crichton must’ve known he struck gold — if not mosquito-filled amber — when Steven Spielberg managed to acquire the film rights to Jurassic Park before the novel was even published. It was his vision that would come to capture the imagination of an entire generation once the result of Spielberg’s tireless efforts indelibly altered cinema as we know it today.
There’s no filmmaker other than Spielberg who proudly holds the distinction of having directed the highest-grossing film of all time on three different occasions. Each time he’s done so, he’s managed to find a new reason for us to believe he’s one of the greatest filmmakers in history. Since the release of its first film in 1993, the Jurassic Park franchise has become one of the highest-grossing film series of all time. Following the original trilogy’s success, the Jurassic Park franchise expanded into Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, gaining new audiences with a modern trilogy featuring Chris Pratt as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire. Jurassic World was a massive hit and got two sequels, both of which also did great at the box office.
With an impressive $6 billion total at the worldwide box office, the popular dinosaur franchise does not look to be slowing down soon, especially as Jurassic World 4 is scheduled for release in 2025. However, despite the franchise’s success and upcoming seventh movie, Jurassic Park has had its ups and downs over the years. The Jurassic World movies and their previous Jurassic Park brethren always try to up the ante with a big bad dino for spectacle, but there's still one big move left in its metaphorical back pocket that could elevate the next entry, Jurassic World: Rebirth, to new heights.
The last three World movies specifically took this to another level, introducing the deadly hybrids of the Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor. For Dominion, the film introduced the Giganotosarus as its main big bad.
Of course, there’s always been the Tyrannosaurus Rex—but it might be high time to put Rexy on the back burner and bring back another colossal carnivorous dino for the good of the franchise: the Spinosaurus.

‘Jurassic Park’ writer David Koepp has teased ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ will evoke the “spirit of the first movie”.The 61-year-old screenwriter - who penned 1993's 'Jurassic Park' and its 1997 sequel ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’ with director Steven Spielberg - is returning to the franchise for its next instalment, and has hinted ‘Rebirth’ will honour the original while also bringing “a new tone” to the series. In an interview with TheWrap, Koepp said: “[We are trying to capture] the spirit of the first movie, which is the tone that we would like to get closest to.”Keopp added it was “the idea of starting afresh” which persuaded him to pick up his pen once more for ‘Rebirth’.He said: “You don't often get that chance, where they give you very few guidelines, except there must be dinosaurs in it.”However, before he agreed to return to the ‘Jurassic’ franchise, Koepp had a list...

Gareth Edwards is one of the most underrated sci-fi directors currently working. The director behind Rogue One and Godzilla decided to ditch the mainstream IP when he released an original sci-fi movie last year. The Creator starred John David Washington, and was set in a techno-futuristic world where humanoid robots are an everyday part of life. But, when a company develops a fully functional AI, the US government sees it as a potential weapon, and orders its termination, no matter the collateral damage.
The Creator is currently streaming on Prime Video and has found massive success on the streamer. The film entered Prime Video's top 10 the day it arrived on the platform. While The Creator has been a massive streaming success, its fate was less than stellar at the box office last year. As much as audiences bemoan IP-based movies and beg for original stories, they don't always show their support in theaters.

Following the misstep of Jurassic World: Dominion, Jurassic World Rebirth has officially been announced and aims to steer the franchise in the right direction. Jurassic World: Dominion very much serves as a conclusion to the sequel trilogy, bringing together arcs from across the new movies but also seeing the return of Jurassic Park's main characters. This helped give Dominion a sense of finality, but major franchises like Jurassic World can't stay away for too long.
The Jurassic Park franchise has had its ups and downs, but the tantalizing chance to rake in hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office has always enticed Hollywood to return to the well. Jurassic World: Dominion received largely negative reactions from critics, and though it raked in over $1 billion (via Box Office Mojo), it was clear that change was needed to keep the dinosaurs-run-amok franchise viable. Jurassic World Rebirth is going up against both Marvel and DC in 2025, and the newest entry in the Jurassic Park franchise will most likely come out on top. While Jurassic World Dominion premiered to poor reviews and has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score out of all Jurassic Park movies, it still did great at the box office and grossed over $1 billion. As such, even though Dominion could have very well been the end of a trilogy, the announcement of a new Jurassic World film wasn’t surprising.
The upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth is technically a sequel to Dominion, yet it can also be described as the first chapter of a new series of films. From the “Rebirth” title to the so far entirely new cast, Jurassic World Rebirth is positioning itself as a fresh start for the franchise. Gareth Edwards is set to take the Jurassic World franchise back to basics with Jurassic World: Rebirth, and the director has opened up about why he feels the new movie needs to correct what has gone wrong with the franchise in several sequels. This will mean rediscovering something that has been “lost” for many years since Jurassic Park first brought dinosaurs to life like never before. The new movie will debut in cinemas next summer, and many are expecting Edwards to do for the prehistoric saga what he did for Star Wars with Rogue One.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Edwards shared some thoughts on how Jurassic World: Rebirth will attempt to avoid putting spectacle over storytelling (and he can hopefully avoid those cheesy third-act dino team-ups in the process). He said:
“Jurassic Park did lead the way with computer graphics, but I feel like we got lost along the way...

In the late ’90s, producer James G. Robinson and screenwriter William Wisher Jr. started developing a prequel to the 1973 horror classic The Exorcist – and no one could have predicted just how messy this project would get. Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI director Tom McLoughlin was hired to take the helm, but then dropped out due to issues with the script. John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate) took the helm, with author Caleb Carr handling rewrites… then Frankenheimer left because his health was declining (he passed away soon after) and was replaced by Paul Schrader. Schrader was known for writing films like Taxi Driver, Rolling Thunder, Raging Bull, and The Last Temptation of Christ, and he had also directed several films: Blue Collar, Hardcore, American Gigolo, Cat People, and others. During a recent interview with MovieWeb, Schrader admitted that he shouldn’t have taken on the job of directing Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist.

Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park gave audiences some memorable characters, including Dr. Alan Grant, whose accent appeared to change with every scene. Dr. Alan Grant, played by Sam Neill, was a main character in the original Jurassic Park movie, and has appeared in three of the six released Jurassic Park movies. The Jurassic Park franchise timeline spans from 1993 to 2022 and is based on Michael Crichton's bestselling books. While the main theme of rampaging dinosaurs stayed central, Jurassic Park changed the source material, allowing Grant to undergo some significant character development, making him a fan favorite.

The Most Horrifying Death In The Jurassic Park Franchise Still Hasn't Been Topped And Might Never Be
Zara got the worst and most terrifying death in the entire Jurassic Park franchise when she was killed off in Jurassic World, and the movies still havent come close to topping it. The Jurassic Park series has been gruesomely killing off its characters from the very beginning. In the first film, the bloodsucking lawyer Donald Gennaro got eaten off the toilet by a T. rex and Dennis Nedry got splattered with a Dilophosaurus venom in his car. The franchise wouldnt be making the most out of its dinosaur-infested premise if the dinosaurs werent killing people in every other scene.
Part of the fun of these movies is getting to see the dinosaurs run wild and pick off unsuspecting victims. In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a mercenary got eaten while stealing an Indoraptor tooth as a souvenir. In Jurassic World Dominion, a guy got eaten off a scooter by an Allosaurus.

Sam Neill's Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park served as the protagonist with Laura Dern's Ellie Sattler as the secondary star, but neither character returned in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. In 1993, Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park emerged as a cinematic tour de force, adapting Michael Crichton's best-selling 1990 novel into a monumental blockbuster. The film captivated audiences worldwide, raking in nearly $1 billion and spawning a lucrative franchise. Central to the film's success were the charismatic characters of paleontologists Alan Grant (Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Dern), respectively. Their dynamic added a compelling human element to the thrilling dinosaur encounters.

Steven Spielberg's 1993 film Jurassic Park is remembered for its heart-stopping suspense and game-changing animatronics, but there are Jurassic Park deleted scenes that didn't make it into the final cut of the classic science fiction action film. Adapted from Michael Critchton's novel of the same name, Jurassic Park helped redefine the summer blockbuster and that's primarily thanks to nearly every frame in the sci-fi movie being memorable. Even though a string of sequels have succeeded Jurassic Park, the original movie remains near and dear to most audiences.
Although it is difficult to imagine a scene not being good enough for the final cut of the film, considering its standing among audiences, there are a few obvious and not-so-obvious reasons why cuts were made. In some instances, a cut scene can improve a movie's quality, while in others, it doesn't make much of an impact. Whether because of time constraints, inappropriate tone,...

With Godzillas Gareth Edwards at the helm, Jurassic World Rebirth has the chance to be the best movie in the franchise since Steven Spielbergs original Jurassic Park. Universal is hoping to get the Jurassic Park series back on track after the bitter disappointment of Jurassic World Dominion. Jurassic World Rebirth has the original movies writer David Koepp penning the script, a cast of exciting newcomers including Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, and a fast-approaching release date of July 2, 2025.
