ITV should have left well alone.
Stephen Mulhern might want to make hay while the sun shines on his career, but he should have left well alone when the phonecall came through for this.
Sometimes hosts of shows cast long shadows, even if they are no longer wanting to be involved in the programme. Look at Brucie with 'The Generation Game', Tarrant on 'Millionaire' - trying to take over from a legend is not a good idea.
This was Noel Edmonds show. It was a big hit at the time, it was a massive show during a certain point in television history, and then it finished. Why networks can't leave it alone after that is beyond me.
This will be a middling hit for ITV before being packed away again. It will not replace the original in people's minds.
