Ballet of Boring

Ballet of boredom...

When I stumbled upon the 2015 horror movie "Ballet of Blood", from writer and director Jared Masters, I must admit that I was sort of hesitant about sitting down to watch it, given the rather low rating the movie have managed to acquire here on IMDb.

But I figured that I would give the movie a fair chance, nonetheless, since I hadn't heard about the movie. And just because a movie has landed a low rating, doesn't necessarily mean that it is a movie that will not appeal to me.

However, I should have listened to that whispering voice at the back of my mind, telling me to skip on "Ballet of Blood", because this movie was exactly as the low rating indicates.

The storyline in "Ballet of Blood" was not interesting. The pacing of the narrative was so slow and mundane that there was an actual risk of being lulled to sleep.

And it didn't help much that the acting performances in the movie were amateurish, wooden and sort of felt like something you'd see in a high school play.

Yeah, "Ballet of Blood" from writer and director Jared Masters, wasn't exactly a movie that entertained, much less appealed to me. Take heed of the low rating, and give "Ballet of Blood" a wide berth. It just simply isn't worth the money, time or effort.

My rating of "Ballet of Blood" lands on a two out of ten stars.

Avoid Like You Would Toxic Waste

Some of the worst writing, direction and (above all) acting I've ever seen in a flick. (To call it a "movie" would be an insult to all movies.) If you have nothing else to do other than sit through this atrocity (I sat through it, but started reading a book 2 minutes into the thing, glancing up occasionally) then FIND something else to do. Please.

Doesn't know what it wants to be. Ends up being awful

This is a low budget independent lesser known film described. The visuals are noticeably low budget while the film has the atmosphere of not being sure whether it's a campy horror, an art house type film, a psychological horror drama, or even an erotic romance. Overall it simply fails on all levels and fails to provide much interest. The acting is very off as it felt like some of the actresses were reading their lines.

The film certainly tries being artistic with its fluorescent bright lights (scenes with bright light blue, and pink). None of the actresses really stood out as watching we forget which character is which (several resemble each other) and the names of most of these characters.

There are few ballet films and this certainly is one of the weaker and more boring ones.
