On Aug. 1, the six-part mystery series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder debuts on Netflix. Look, there’s no way around this: August is a slow month for TV, and Netflix isn’t any different. Splashy fall TV is right around the corner, but August seems best designed to catch up on some of the best TV of the year so far that you may have missed.

It’s not a total wasteland, however: “Emily in Paris” returns this month for Season 4 Part 1. The internet loves to make fun of it, but the dreamed is truly one of the best brain-dead shows to watch when it’s too hot to do much of anything else. Lily Collins wears the most amazing outfits! Much like other recent Netflix hits such as “Bridgerton,” “Emily in Paris” Season 4 will be divided into two parts, with Part 1 dropping August 15 and Part 2 debuting a month later.

Season 3 of the Shondaland period drama has now entered the streamer’s all-time list at number 10, booting “Baby Reindeer” and joining “Bridgerton” Seasons 1 and 2 on the leaderboard.

“Bridgerton” is the only series with three seasons on Netflix’s top 10 all-time list. “Stranger Things” is well-represented with Seasons 3 and 4, but its first two seasons came out before Netflix began to share viewership statistics.

Like many of its biggest shows, Netflix split “Bridgerton” Season 3 into two parts. Part 1 debuted on May 16; Part 2 launched on June 13.

Netflix’s top 10 is based on number of views over a TV season or a film’s first 91 days of availability — both “Bridgerton” Season 3 halves still have plenty of time to rack up more views in pursuit of the preceding seasons. “Baby Reindeer” has just a few days left before Netflix’s self-imposed cutoff.

Netflix has amassed quite a brilliant collection of anime adaptations over the last couple of years, but aside from “Haikyu!!” the proverbial cabinet of significant sports-related anime ventures remains empty. That changes with the recently released anime adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki’s golf-centered sports manga, Rising Impact, which offers a new, interesting outlook on what is otherwise known as a rich man’s game. The first-ever anime adaptation of the hit manga, Rising Impact, is soon going to premiere on Netflix. The manga series, written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki, had a huge fan following when it was serialized from the late 1990s to the early 2000s.

Rising Impact: Release Date on Netflix

Rising Impact is being adapted into not just one, but a two-season anime on Netflix, with both premiering this year. The first season will debut on the streaming platform on June 22nd, followed by the second season on August 6th.

Netflix’s list of new releases for June 2024 look suspiciously like last month’s.

That’s because the biggest item on the schedule is Bridgerton season 3 once again. The final four episodes of Bridgerton‘s third season will premiere on June 13. Polin fans everywhere, rejoice! Netflix unveiled its anime line-up for the year at the AnimeJapan event in Tokyo, including feature film Ultraman: Rising and TV series Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Rising Impact.

The streamer’s anime slate launch comes just a few days after announcing that it will release Hayao Miyazaki’s Oscar-winning film The Boy and the Heron on its platform globally, alongside a library of other Studio Ghibli films (excluding U.S. and Japan).

Polygon's massive new survey of anime-viewing audiences has revealed respondents' most popular anime streaming services in the U.S. -- with some definite surprises for Gen Z and Millennial fans.

A new Polygon study conducted by Edwin Wong and Sebastian Fernandez surveyed over 4,000 Americans over the age of 18 about how they consume anime. The study was carried out in collaboration with The Circus in August 2023, and it revealed that while Netflix is the leading destination for anime watchers among survey respondents, the rest of the list may come as a surprise.
