The Tribeca Film Festival has announced the winners of its audience and jury prizes for the 24th installment. Charliebird, the story of a bond between a music therapist at a children's hospital and one of her patients from director Libby Ewing, took the top honor in the U.S. Narrative Feature competition.
Also taking top prizes were the winner of Best International Narrative Feature, Happy Birthday, from Egypt, and winner of Best Documentary Feature, Natchez, from director Suzannah Herbert.
Natchez focuses on the American South and the region's relationship to its Antebellum history through the lens of one town in Mississippi.
An examination of childhood and class in Egypt, Happy Birthday follows an 8-year-old maid as she tries to ensure that her employer's daughter has a perfect birthday celebration.

Charliebird, Happy Birthday and Natchez took top honors Thursday in the U.S. Narrative, International Narrative and Documentary competitions, respectively, at the 24th annual Tribeca Festival.
Andrea Riseborough and Brenda Blethyn shared the Performance Award for international narrative feature Dragonfly, leading a strong showing by women across the majority of categories at the ceremony held today at Racket NYC. Winners also highlighted first-time feature directors and a notable presence of Latin American cinema throughout the competition.
The festival wraps on June 15 in NYC.

Charliebird, Happy Birthday and Natchez took the top awards in the U.S. narrative, international narrative and documentary competitions, respectively.
Happy Birthday won three awards in total including best screenplay in an international narrative feature and the Nora Ephron award for first-time director Sara Goher.
Natchez also received special jury mentions for cinematography and editing. And Esta Isla won two awards — best new narrative director for Cristian Carretero and Lorraine Jones Molina and best cinematography in a U.S. narrative feature — and received a special jury mention for best U.S. narrative feature.
