Even just the scene in the cafetaria or diner in the second half of the movie is worth 12 stars by itself. Somewhat reminiscent of the famous conversation scene in Heat, but in many ways much much better. Not having world famous movie stars helps in these circumstances. It is however very difficult to articulate why exactly without giving away spoilers.

The rest of the film has up and downs but more than interesting enough, and intense and unpredictable as a story line.

I imagine for some people it will be difficult to identify with the main characters (which would explain the low ratings) but that is unsolvable. So, well worth a watch as far as I can say.
