Very well done

I saw this film on Saturday evening with my wife. The story is very well written and both Kevin Sorbo and James Barrington do an outstanding job playing their roles. The film was shot on a low budget and to be totally honest you can tell in places in the movie where they were budget conscious.

Yet the stalker and hater - it sounds like someone who needs help - continues stalking this powerful Christian film always pointing to the acting and budget. It's the SAME PERSON.

It is understandable since indie films dont have the margin of error with a film that the bigger named production companies have.

The story is well told by writers. Vocally, James Barrington is a sensational choice and does a superb job acting. Suprisingly, it is Barrington's movie debut as an actor and certainly carries his role of the lead off and is not intimidated or over shadowed by Cuba Gooding Jr who I hear found Christ recently - Praise God Above.

This is without question the best Faith based, Christiian film outside of The Passion of the Christ I can recall watching.

If a family movie that you dont have to worry about nudity, constant profanity and undeing violence is appealing do yourself a favor and go see it.... Coming in at #9 in the box office nationwide take speaks volumes about the quality of it. This film deserves to be at an 8+.

Solid 10 - The only great film of 2024 in my humble opinion

It's a crying freaking shame that this outstanding movie didn't do well because of 'Deadpool', 'Daddy Long Legs', etc.....

One horror movie portrayed Christians as serial killers.

Such a beautiful Christian story. An instant legendary movies ever made, and i love it so much! Acting is really amazing, James Barrington and Cuba Gooding Jr are both so talented and they nailed their parts! The plot is super good, and i don't think this epic film set in a prison camp contains any negative things, except the ending and the fact that this movie is joyous and yet sad... but i'm still giving it a 10 because let's face it, it's a future classic. 4 hankie film all the way.....

Ignore the haters....My rating: 10/10

My rating: 10/10

If you carefully analyze the people attacking the film, they never say ONE KIND WORD.

Their attacks are usually brutal, personal, hateful, vicious, and unwarranted. Why you ask? Because Jesus himself said, "If they hated me, they will hate you." John 15:18

This film has won many people to Christ. If you're a true Believer, you should prayerfully support this film.

The very sad thing about the attackers of this beautiful film is most haven't even seen it. It's a personal and direct attack. They could be a fired caterer, a fired security guard on the set, a fired production manager, etc. How do you know it's personal? Because the people giving the film a '1' are so filled with rage and mean-spirited.

They HATE the film not in a cinematic way, but in a personal way. They always go to the 'acting' or 'screenplay' but offer no reason why. They offer no points of encouragement or anything positive. In a way, feel sorry for them. Their personal hatred even trumps the love of Christ shown in the film. The DON'T CARE that many people were saved. They only want to smear the film in a juvenile attack. So they will go to eternal darkness when they die because their true selves show no forgiveness and the Lord said clearly, "But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:15

My rating: 10/10.

Thoroughly uplifting movie.

Thoroughly uplifting movie. I've been on IMDB since 2005 almost 19 years and have never seen a film like this - so bold in it's faith.

I was blessed by seeing this at an advanced screening.

I cried uncontrollably at the end. I think it's one of the best endings in any movie I've ever seen. Jesus died for us so we can choose heaven.

I came with a ton of depression and I've been completely healed of it now.

Really amazing, incredible film.

Thank you to the filmmakers for such a God-Honoring film.

The attacks from these atheists and anti-Christs are sad. I'm sad for them because they will someday finally meet the wrath of God and will be going to the very place this movie talks about. To the filmmakers, keep your chin up and actually be DELIGHTED that they're attacking you. Jesus said, "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven..." Matthew 5:11.

A movie that you will never forget - 10/10

10+ I love The Firing Squad for a multitude of reasons. First it is a movie that never gets boring because it's all about the Lord Jesus; second it has great writing that is comparable to any "Oscar" winners, and third the characters are believable, real, and you actually care about them on their quest for GOD. The acting from both James Barrington and Kevin Sorbo was excellent and you could tell that they actually wanted this movie to succeed. It is a very somber film that you will remember for years. I think this is one of the rare moments when the movie was better than the source material. I hope that years later this movie will be remembered as one of the best movies ever made. Please see this film wherever you can. God bless everyone!

A+ - this movie can tear emotions out of anyone

A+ rating

PLEASE SEE THIS MOVIE.

I expected this movie to be a normal Christian movie and i just want to see it for Kevin Sorbo but as movie goes through i cry,i laugh and there comes a feeling which can't be described in words. I rate this movie as the best i have ever seen. Some moments in the movie makes me hold my popcorn in the tightest ever grip. I can guarantee that this movie will leave an impression in your mind for a long time. If ONLY FOR JESUS i even say that this movie is better than shawshank redemption. Fantastic story, brilliant acting, mind boggling feelings and overall an unforgettable drama. If you have watched 1000 movies and not this then your movie watching journey is incomplete.i will also make sure that even my next generation should watch this one.

This movie restores my faith in the Lord

This movie had me CRYING, laughing, praying and totally getting lost as the prisoners face execution in Indonesia.

This is arguably the most beautiful film ever made. It drips of courage, redemption, and sacrifice unseen in our society today. Literally, you must see this film or you miss out on something truly breathtaking.

The filmmakers understood this and hit a home-run with this movie. 100% faith in God is the theme of the film and in watching it you will find yourself evaluating your life and what matters to you and what you want in life. This movie offers terrific, sharp writing, great acting, solid pacing and perfect use of music as well, and a great blend of faith and tear-jerking drama.

All for the glory of Jesus. For me, this movie earns a rare 10/10! A stunning film from start to end.

A masterpiece: an emotional and visual thrill ride

I read on Facebook how these attackers are non-stop attacking the film. Shame on them. May God judge them according to their works.

I thought the performances of everyone were magnificent: I cared about the characters and their lives on and beyond the missile approaching. Taking the time to introduce everyone and weave their stories together was masterful, even beyond the main characters.

Again INCREDIBLE ACTING

I loved how the most important thing: Jesus Christ is all that matters in the end. This is a hard-core Christian film, but it will appeal to all. Why? Because it answers the question of what if you faced minutes to live by execution?

Visually pleasing in every way, dramatic, musically astounding, great acting and above all a fantastic story make this an undeniably iconic, enduring film.

This film is one for the ages.

So beautiful so pure - A+

Emotional throughout. Best inspirational film since 'War Room'. This true story will touch many. I think the film will touch and change many more. A++

What a wonderful story about forgiveness and redemption.....believer or not, we all struggle with forgiving those who have hurt us but how beautiful it is when you can forgive and love those who have.

When the Warden asks the lead actor if he will deny Christ and the lead saying 'no' gently, it brought me to tears

I can only imagine is a movie that really speaks to the heart and spirit and is just a movie that leaves you in tears....and in this day in age, we could all benefit from that! GO SEE IT.

Movie Over-Criticized for No Good Reason

I avoided it and didn't go to the theater because of the heavy criticism. From the criticism I was swayed into thinking that the acting was bad, story, etc.

Boy was I wrong. What is wrong with these haters? Anyone? Why are they repeatedly attacking all Christian films.

I have just ask "what is all the fuss about?" No movie is perfect. But was there anything really bad about this movie? Was there anything really wrong about the movie? So what if the scholarly detail isn't perfect. It's good enough for an ordinary person going to the cinema who has no clue about the details.

The film team did a good job. They deserve credit.

Keep making movies. You're good at it. Don't let anyone tell you any different.

To all the haters, please get a life. Get married. Travel the world. Find a cure for cancer. Invent something amazing. But don't waste your life hating this worthy movie, the filmmakers or Jesus.

The most soul-searching movie in modern times....

An absolutely spellbinding Christian film.

This is based on the true story of these prisoners who find Jesus in a third world prison camp.

This is a very strong Christian film.

The acting was incredible and first-rate. The lead actor was very good as was Kevin Sorbo as the pastor. We were left quite speechless as this film is totally outstanding.

I hear the director was a former atheist who went to Harvard and the intelligence shows in this film. Every character is pitted towards the ending in a way that makes for a perfect payoff - all for Jesus.

The music and score are terrific, and the cinematography is another major plus. Some might find the initial few acts a little slow, but the action sequences completely steal the show, especially in the lengthy and spellbinding final act that will make you cry guaranteed.

I absolutely recommend it.

A Heartfelt Tapestry of Faith and Humanity

Firing Squad is more than just a film; it's a profound exploration of the human spirit and the transformative power of faith. This cinematic masterpiece weaves together a compelling narrative with visuals and unforgettable characters, creating a truly immersive experience.

What sets this film apart is its ability to resonate with audiences on a deeply personal level. The story, rooted in our sinful nature, delves into the complexities of finding hope in the face of death with both sensitivity and conviction. The characters are richly developed, their struggles and triumphs feeling authentic and relatable.

The performances are nothing short of extraordinary. The singing of Amazing Grace deliver powerhouse portrayals that leave a lasting impact. Their chemistry on screen is palpable, drawing the audience into the heart of the story.

The score is equally impressive, complementing the scenes perfectly and elevating the overall viewing experience.

But it is the film's exploration of faith that truly sets it apart. It doesn't preach or proselytize; instead, it invites viewers to contemplate their own beliefs and values. The portrayal of faith is both honest and inspiring, offering hope and encouragement without being overly sentimental.

The Firing Squad is a film that challenges, provokes, and ultimately inspires. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the possibility of redemption in the darkest of places. This is not merely a film; it's a spiritual experience that will leave a lasting impact on viewers.

astonishing film.....A+++

A+++

I was one of the very first people to watch this incredible film in Orlando.

Praise God for whoever is putting this out. Our lives are a vapor and we should be in mighty prayer for this film that it reaches many people. I've heard so many incredible reviews from people I know including my pastor! I watched this and was sobbing at the end.

Shame on the person leaving these negative reviews. May God judge this person according to their works. Maybe God will remove this person tonight by heart attack. You never know.

Sorely forgotten in it's day, the script tells a very deep, original and interesting story, with lots of development, respect for the characters, delicate pacing, and a head-spinning ending. The movie is solely about these men facing execution in a third world prison. Fear takes hold of the audience through the powerful scenes. But there's a huge happy ending that will literally make you weep!

Rating: A+. Loved the incredible twist at the end like everyone says....

Rating: A+

Very Thought provoking film, outstanding feel good movie especially the end which seems strange, but you will understand after seeing it. Yes it's based on these Christian prisoners who face death, but there's incredible joy believe it or not.

Writer-director Tim Chey has a knack for storytelling--already evident by his previous work--but he outdoes himself with this one. Nothing is ever truly predictable, which is an impressive accomplishment considering the type of film. Never is there a dull moment, and the dialogue is so effortlessly perfect without ever feeling contrived. The sappy moments are never that, when any other writer would know no other way. It's a powerful faith-based movie for the ages and may even be the pinpoint for redefining the genre.

Highly recommended for those of you who haven't seen it and are arguing with your other half about what to watch tonight. I promise you'll both enjoy it.

This is the Best Movie I have ever Watched.

All I can really say about this movie is "YOU HAVE GOT TO GO SEE IT!!!" No big budget, no big name actors, but one FANTASTIC true story that is carried/acted out very believably!!! It has some great action scenes, great humor, very sad moments...;an emotional roller coaster! Also, this is a very thought provoking movie with eternal implications! Even though this cast of actors are not the "big names" of the world, they do an excellent job with their roles! You can tell that most, if not all of them, truly believe in the message of finding Jesus in your darkest hour---they put their heart and soul into the movie!!! I don't care if you are a Christian, or not; this is a must see movie for the entire family that has a VERY positive message!!! Shame on the anti-Christians voting a 1 - they haven't even seen the movie. People who think Christians can't make good movies, music..., are very sorely mistaken! The message that you convey doesn't have to be crude, vulgar, evil, criminal etc., for it to be a so called HIT! The fact of the matter is "WE NEED MORE MOVIES LIKE THE FIRING SQUAD IN SOCIETY TODAY!!!" Well done movie Epoch Times!

Powerful Testament to Faith and Resilience

Lots of negative reviews - I know many are Christians posing as atheists . It's obvious. Anyhow, "The Firing Squad" exceeded all my expectations. Directed by Timothy A. Chey, this film is a masterful portrayal of faith, courage, and the human spirit's unyielding resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.

From the very beginning, the film grabs your attention with its compelling true story of three Christian prisoners who, despite facing execution in a foreign land, find solace and strength in their faith. The performances by Cuba Gooding Jr., and Eric Roberts are nothing short of stellar. I didn't care much for Kevin Sorbo and the unknown guy. Their acting was wooden, to say the least.

The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the stark reality of the prison camp and the intense emotional journey of the characters. The director's ability to weave a narrative that is both heart-wrenching and uplifting is truly commendable. The script is tight, the pacing is perfect, and the dialogues are powerful and thought-provoking.

One of the standout elements of this film is its ability to highlight the power of faith and the human spirit's capacity to endure even in the darkest of times. The story is a beautiful testament to the strength that comes from belief and the profound impact it can have on one's life and those around them.

The film's message is universal and deeply resonant, making it a must-watch for anyone looking for a story of hope, redemption, and unwavering faith. "The Firing Squad" is not just a movie; it's an experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Do yourself a favor and watch this remarkable film-you won't be disappointed.

Entire Churches and Bible Study Groups Really Need to See This

Entire Churches and Bible Study Groups Really Need to See This Wonderful Movie.

My Bible study group gave the film a 10+

Absolutely the whole counsel of God is shared in this movie. Nothing was left out, not the reality of Satan and his intentions, not the existence of sin, not the truth that all we like sheep have gone astray, not that our righteousness, apart from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are filthy rags doomed to hell. It is all there, the truth shared with a pure heart fervently. At a time when hell is not real to many Christians, this puts hell front and center!

Finally, the Church can watch a movie that speaks faith and shows the hand of God in the lives of His people. Taking the Lord at His Word, living it, loving it, breathing it, memorizing it like these condemned prisoners did is amazing. Such is the bread of life. We are all condemned as the movie says.

For man shall not live by a baker's loaf alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. The message of this movie is exactly that. Man must decide today, "Whom shall ye serve? God or mammon?" Choose this day. Don't wait. Now is the day of salvation, now is the accepted time. Hell is real as they keep saying throughout this fantastic film. And it is a very joyous film.

If this country will, with a contrite heart, bow to the King of Kings and repent, and turn from their wicked ways, then will He hear from heaven and heal our families and our land!

If there's one movie to see in your lifetime, this is it

Everyone in my group loved the film. You can see the live reaction of everyone if you google it.

I thought the performances of everyone were magnificent: I cared about the characters and their lives on death row in a third world prison. Taking the time to introduce everyone and weave their stories together was masterful, even beyond the main characters.

I loved how the most important thing: Jesus Christ is all that matters in the end. This is a hard-core Christian film, but it will appeal to all. Why? Because it answers the question of what if you had months to live?

A Courageous Effort.

I highly recommend this movie. The story was well thought out although fairly complex. The acting was top notch and cinematography excellent. It really makes you think. Kevin Sorbo, the lead actor, really portrays what it would be like to go through difficult period of facing execution. James Barrington, the other main actor, really stepped up his performance as well - haven't heard of him before. It was not a short movie but I never felt like it was dragging at all. There was also a very powerful family story with Cuba Gooding's character - tremendous actor. His unrelenting faith was very encouraging.

The other big thing is that it shows the difficult life of prisoners in third world countries and I give thanks to God I'm free. I don't know if the dramatic events happen in real life but they sure portrayed them effectively.

Jesus Spoke of Hell more than Heaven - the film shows this

My rating: A+

Jesus Spoke of Hell more than Heaven - the film shows this.

Love when Kevin Sorbo's character talks about this at the prison chapel in the movie.

I also loved when I saw all the Scripture references!

Jesus doesn't only reference hell, he describes it in great detail.

He says it is a place of eternal torment (Luke 16:23), of unquenchable fire (Mark 9:43), where the worm does not die (Mark 9:48), where people will gnash their teeth in anguish and regret (Matt. 13:42), and from which there is no return, even to warn loved ones (Luke 16:19-31). He calls hell a place of "outer darkness" (Matt. 25:30), comparing it to "Gehenna" (Matt. 10:28), which was a trash dump outside the walls of Jerusalem where rubbish was burned and maggots abounded. Jesus talks about hell more than he talks about heaven, and describes it more vividly. There's no denying that Jesus knew, believed, and warned about the absolute reality of hell.

Great movie again! A+

Screening was packed. No one left,. Everyone stayed glued to the end credits

Screening was packed. No one left,. Everyone stayed glued to the end credits. People weeping. My group from a local church loved the film. The people giving this film a '1' should be ashamed of themselves. I read that atheists are attacking this film so it might be them disguised as Christians because NO CHRISTIAN would attack this film after seeing it.

The guy attacking this film because of the woman's dress is missing the entire point of this: the film is winning thousands if not hundreds of thousands to Christ. Another guy attacking the attacking....what's wrong with these people? I understand atheists are attacking this film I droves. Please pray they come to Christ and stop what they're doing. They haven't even watched the film I think.

This Film Brought Me To Tears

Great movie. I am still crying as I am writing this review as of right now. I don't even know where to begin.

I can now see why so many people recommended I see this film.

The blending of genres was masterfully done through the style with flashbacks of their life before meeting the Lord Jesus.

The writing was absolutely superb, for a 95 minute movie I found myself completely engaged not even blinking my eye. The music, performances, characters, cinematography, dialogue was so magical I can't even put words here to describe the beauty of everything put into this movie.

The performances just take your breathe away. The story is so full of life and heart and what matters in the very end if you have only this amount of time to live. The characters felt so human and that really is what puts this movie at a whole new level.

The camerawork is some of the best I have ever seen in any film. I don't even want to spoil how thrilling, chilling, beautifully well done the ending missile part of the film is because it is something you just have to see for yourself and experience the devastating heartbreaking tragedy that occurred.

This film might not appeal to atheists or others, but my prayer is they still see it. God bless everyone. Like the character says in the movie, "I'm a changed person."

This movie stays with you in a good way :)

Its a good movie. I like that they showed preeetty much how it really is in a gang even thoe its a christian movie and they are cinda know for that they dont show explicit stuff. The acting is very good in my eyes but if someone would say that it is some times to much or a bit centered on religon I kinda have to agree BUT its a christian movie so what do you want. It has some very nice an funny parts and thats why i personally liked it even more. A very good movie to watch with the family. Aspecially with religios parents !!! Xd

BIG TIME PROPS for holding the values that are challenged in these days and looked at if they would be the worst eeeever.

I´m not a big time reviewer but I could talk about this movie for a while. I saw this in Houston.

An extraordinary film

If this movie does not move you, nothing will.

I agree with everyone. All lines are filled with true faith and Christianity.

This movie is very...very good. It will make you stronger in your faith no doubt.

The supporting actors were very well cast, and the actors who plays the Warden deserves all the praise he gets for his incredible part. Ignore the haters. It wouldn't matter how grand a film was, if Jesus is talked about they will trash it, pretending to be Christians when they're really anything but. Just watch the flick and judge for yourself.

My prayer is I only hope more movies like this can be made. I'm so tired of Hollywood pushing their demoralizing agendas on us. Movies like this give us hope that we can still find quality entertainment. The acting was good and the special effects were also good.

RUN, don't walk to see this.

There's a reason thousands of people have given great reviews on Facebook, Epoch TV, IMDB, etc

There's a reason thousands of people have given great reviews on Facebook, Epoch TV, IMDB, etc - it's simply the most stunning faith-based piece of work in many years.

Watch the film and decide for yourself.

You have to see this film to believe it. I can't possibly describe it to you.

I loved the filmmaker's last film 'Freedom' about John Newton and 'Amazing Grace', but this film outdoes it by a mile.

I've had so many people tell me to watch 'The Firing Squad' including many in my church.

This film is POWERFUL, UPLIFTING, ENTERTAINING, SCRIPTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, STUNNING, and CATHARIC.

10 out of 10. God bless everyone on this board including the haters. Love the haters. Let God administer His vengeance against them.
