A Million Miles Away and The Long Game were the big film winners the 39th annual Imagen Awards, which were handed out Sunday night at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Los Angeles.

Amazon MGM Studios’ A Million Miles Away took Best Director for Alejandra Márquez Abella and three other awards, including Best Actress-Film for Rosa Salazar. The Long Game from Mucho Mas Media was named Best Feature Film and also won two trophies for acting. See the full list below.

I thought Lifetime Network was trying to head in a different direction after Dying in Plain Sight, which dealt with something as severe as atypical anorexia. But My Husband’s Seven Wives, their latest, seems like business as usual for the network, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, the timelessness of My Husband’s Seven Wives is a bit too in your face, which, I suppose, is the whole point. It’s not that the movie ends with any kind of ambiguity, but in case you have some doubts after watching it, I’m here to help. In typical Lifetime thriller style, a young woman gets randomly kidnapped right after finishing a run on a dark, gloomy evening. Neither the woman nor us get to see the kidnapper, unsurprisingly.

You would expect the usual murders, affairs, deceit, and petty grudges to wreak havoc in a Lifetime movie, but that’s not the case with Dying in Plain Sight. This one is still a Lifetime movie, alright, but it deals with something as severe as atypical anorexia. Centered on a plus-size teen, this film also gets vocal about relevant topics like bad parenting and body shaming. And the end result is quite good, I would say.
