The “Prison Break” reboot pilot at Hulu has added three series regulars, Variety has learned.
Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger have all been cast in leading roles in the pilot, which was originally announced in December. As previously reported, the pilot is set in the same world as the original “Prison Break” but will tell a new story with new characters. Exact plot details are being kept locked up.
Browning stars as Cassidy Collins, described as “an ex-soldier turned corrections officer takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.” Gage will play Jackson in the pilot, said to be “a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.” And Rodger will play Tommy, “an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago.”

Hulu and 20th Television’s Prison Break pilot from Elgin James is coming together as Emily Browning, Lukas Gage and Drake Rodger have been set as series regulars.
As we previously reported, James’ version will be its own thing and set within the same universe as the original Fox series of the same name from Paul Scheuring. This new project is not expected to involve the characters at the center of the Og project, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). The spinoff project was first revealed to be in development in late 2023 and was picked up to pilot in December.
While the plot of James’ version is under wraps, the trio’s character descriptions give a little insight.

With as long running as it is, it makes sense that Bleach would showcase a wide range of emotions across the events of the series. However, Thousand Year Blood War has upped the stakes and the consequences of those events. This makes it a more intense series overall than the rest of Bleach. It's also just a sadder one. Character death isn't just limited to flashbacks anymore, but even those can leave a lasting impact on the viewer. Plus, it's not just the deaths in the arc that cause so many sad moments.
These moments make the Quincy an even more personal threat. Not every opponent in Bleach has made much of an impact. To be fair, many of the individual Quincy are forgettable. However, they did something that no Arrancar could. This arc puts everything else the characters have gone through to the test. Between the very real threat...

Bleach's newest story arc, the Thousand-Year Blood War story arc, has finally reached the apex of its world-shaking stakes early in cour 3. The first two cours already had high stakes, as the Wandenreich invaded the Soul Society with genocidal intentions, but destroying the Gotei 13 isn't nearly as dire as Yhwach's true goal: to merge all worlds into one and destroy the current world order. Those titanic stakes are why Ichigo Kurosaki crossed blades with King Yhwach back in the episode, "Kill the King."
It was inevitable that protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki would fight Yhwach to end this war once and for all, an echo of when Ichigo saved the entire world defeating Sosuke Aizen in the fake Karakura Town. Unfortunately, this battle is not going Ichigo's way so far, and this time, Ichigo doesn't have the benefit of a last-minute training arc with his father in the Dangai to power up.

There are plenty of through lines and recurring motifs throughout Bleach. These often center around different characters or different arcs. Often, this leads to new ideas or story lines feeling familiar, which can be a good or a bad thing. For example, one of the bigger complaints about the Arrancar arc is that it copies the events of the Soul Society Invasion arc too much, but both arcs emphasize the lengths Ichigo Kurosaki will go for his friends and the tactics that Sosuke Aizen will implement over and over.
As he's the main character, Ichigo is the biggest subject of these motifs. Often, they are used to showing how he's grown past certain struggles. On the other hand, they also highlight flaws he still has to confront, ones more rooted to his nature. Among these recurring ideas is Ichigo's need to claim the powers he has as his own. Ichigo...

This review contains spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict, Episode 2, "Kill the King."
In Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict's previous episode, Ichigo Kurosaki basically ended the world by complete accident. He fell into Emperor Yhwach's trap and killed the Soul King against his will, thus breaking the key that maintained the balance between Soul Society, Hueco Mundo and the world of the Living. The aptly titled "Kill the King" ended just as the world's spiritual and physical foundations began to crumble, with a terrified Ichigo realizing that Yhwach used his own status as Bleach's overpowered main character against him.
This week's episode, "The Dark Arm," will begin exactly where "Kill the King" ended. As Ichigo's group continues their futile fight against a godlike Yhwach, the surviving Gotei 13 and Sternritter will have to figure out what to do now, as reality collapses in...

The following contains spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Season 3, Episode 2, "Kill the King," now streaming on Hulu.
Bleach's third cour continues to shake everything up as the Quincy king, Yhwach, closes in on his end goal with the Soul King. Despite having vowed to destroy the entire Soul Society and slay all Soul Reapers to get revenge, Yhwach has recently decided to ignore the surviving Soul Reapers and head straight for the Soul King's palace. Recently, Yhwach defeated Ichibe Hyosube while the Schutzstaffel finished off Senjumaru Shutara, leaving the door wide open for the Soul King's demise.
Yhwach launches his endgame in Episode 2, confronting the helpless Soul King before plunging his curved sword right into the Soul King's chest. Then, Ichigo Kurosaki's team of heroes arrive to salvage the situation, only for a combination of Yhwach's true power and Ichigo's Quincy heritage to turn a bad situation into a worse one.

This review contains mild spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict, Episode 2, "Kill the King."
This week's episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict, "Kill the King," comes after a disappointing season premiere. While the cour's opening was far from terrible and even if it was still an otherwise well-made episode, it was a glorified recap that left anime fans disappointed. This, despite the fact that it ended on a chilling cliffhanger. With this in mind, The Conflict's second episode had a lot of work to do in terms of winning audiences back and setting up the rest of the cour. Fortunately, the episode was a roaring success.
Much like its immediate predecessor, "Kill the King" picks up mere seconds after the last episode's ending and gets right into the thick of battle. But unlike The Conflict's opening, this episode does a lot more...

This review contains mild spoilers for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict, Episode 1, "A."
After roughly a year, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War finally returned to televisions and streaming services around the world. Based on the final arc of Tite Kubo's most famous manga, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict picks up exactly where Part 2 - The Separation ended. As Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends make their way to the Soul King Palace, the remnants of the Zero Squad fight Emperor Yhwach and his Schutzstaffel to a standstill. However, this stalemate didn't last as long as the Royal Guard hoped it would. Worse, the stakes of the war between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies just got higher.
Despite its shortcomings, The Conflict's first episode, simply titled "A," did its job of setting the stage for the final, decisive battle between Soul Society and the Wandenreich.

Boom. Here's your first look at Eddie O'Keefe's upcoming period crime drama about two young lovers on a cross-country road trip to La to kill the "King of Rock n Roll" called Shangri-La Suite.

Australian actress Emily Browning has had a fairly varied filmography, and some of her roles have certainly exploited her good looks on screen ranging from Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch" to the often disturbing "Sleeping Beauty".
Currently out doing promotional rounds for the Tom Hardy-led UK crime drama "Legend," Browning spoke with The Guardian and says she's done being eye candy on screen and/or playing a vapid love interest role. The trouble is, it's a role that is fairly common in studio films and one she's had to do herself at times (eg. "Pompeii"):
"I'm so determined not to play the hot babe that doesn't say anything, that can't have an opinion, but it's so difficult to resist all of that. Hollywood movies are made for white men, and that's something I think about and which bothers me all the time."
