By the time he exploded onto the scene alongside the rest of the cast behind Prime Video’s The Boys, Jack Quaid had already begun to make a name for himself in the film and television industry. Despite being the child of two incredibly famous performers (Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan), Quaid waited to step into the spotlight until well into his teenage years, thanks to early roles in titles like The Hunger Games, and Just Before I Go. But it was through Eric Kripke’s adaptation of the blood-soaked comics, first penned by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, that Quaid’s career really took off. Now, with the fifth and final season currently in production, fans are wondering about the fates of many of their favorites — including Quaid’s Hughie.

Melanie Lynskey has been putting in the work for decades, dating back to her debut performance in 1994’s “Heavenly Creatures.” The Kiwi actress bounces back and forth between leading and smaller roles, in films like “Up in the Air” (2009), “Hello I Must Be Going” (2012), “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore”(2017) and last year’s “Don’t Look Up,” and TV series like “Two and a Half Men,” “Togetherness,” “Castle Rock” and “Mrs. America.” Through it all, Lynskey has been a favorite of critics, who have given her multiple nominations, but the industry awards have left her criminally under-recognized. But that may change this year thanks to her starring turn in Showtime’s buzzy drama series “Yellowjackets.”
“Yellowjackets” offers Lynskey the opportunity to deliver on what she does best, playing a seemingly ordinary stay-at-home mom who happens to harbor a dark side. The actress plays Shauna, who is still...

“Sophie and the Baron,” documentary short co-produced by Courteney Cox, follows the unlikely friendship between two artists who crossed paths at a chance meeting. And the road to the film was just as organic. One of the 15 films on the Oscar shortlist, “Sophie and the Baron” follows up-and-coming artist Sophie Kipner as she reinterprets iconic photographs taken by Baron Wolman, “Rolling Stone’s” first chief photographer, using blind contouring, in which she draws without looking at the page. The short is directed by her cousin, Alexandria Jackson, who one day just started filming the pair, who had met when Wolman ordered a vodka tonic from Kipner at a London bar.

It’s happening. It’s finally happening. What was once a particularly pervasive and aggressive Internet meme is now a reality. HBO Max’s list of new releases for March 2021 is highlighted by none other than the mythical Snyder cut.
The entity now known as Zach Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on March 18. While it was originally planned to be a four-part miniseries, this recut version of 2017’s ill-fated Justice League will in fact be a four-hour movie. But perhaps even four hours won’t be enough for fans who have been waiting years for just such an event.

We have a list of the new Hulu movies and shows arriving in March 2020.

Stifler’s about to get a “Lethal Weapon.” Fox has ordered a third season of the hit action drama after a last minute scramble to replace the lead role opposite Damon Wayans.
Seann William Scott (from the “American Pie” franchise) has joined the show in his first network series role as a new character who folds into a partnership with Murtaugh (Wayans).
“Seann is a fantastic addition to this already amazing cast,” said Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn. “’Lethal Weapon’ is packed with action, drama and pure fun and we can’t wait to see Damon and Seann together on screen. Matt Miller, his incredible team and everyone at Warner Bros. have been tremendous partners, and we’re thrilled to bring this show back for another season.”
It almost didn’t happen. After clashes on set between star Clayne Crawford and Wayans, Crawford was fired — and the show was in jeopardy.

Back in 2011 Seann William Scott starred in the Canadian-American sports comedy “Goon,” directed by Michael Dowse and written by Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg. The film, which was the surprise of the summer, followed a dimwitted man who becomes the enforcer for a minor league ice hockey team. Now six years later, Scott and almost all of the original cast is back in the sequel “Goon: Last of the Enforcers.”
Making his directorial feature debut, Baruchel serves as director and returns as co-writer, this time with Jesse Chabot. The comedy once again follows Doug Glatt (Scott) who, after being forced to give up his aspirations of going to the big show, rejoins the Halifax Highlanders to reclaim his former glory. Amazon is expected to issue its first ever straight-to-series order for Trial – a new legal drama from David E. Kelley. The streaming platform, which previously distinguished itself from its rivals by giving audiences the opportunity to weigh in on which of its pilots should be picked up, appears to be prepared to make an exception for this show, which will be led by Oscar winners Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt.
Thornton will play Billy McBride, who was once a high-powered lawyer renowned for having co-founded an influential law firm. Having been unceremoniously ejected from his lofty position, he has become, for the most part, drunk. Amidst this unfortunate situation, McBride’s past and present suddenly collide when a wrongful death case puts him across the courtroom from Donald Cooper, who is head of McBride’s former firm, and will be played by William Hurt. 2011's R-rated raunchy-sports-comedy-with-a-heart-of-gold Goon is the latest comedy to be getting a sequel. And while law of averages are not in its favor when it comes to comedy sequels, Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber and Alison Pill are all set to return and throw around hockey pucks as much as they do certain four-letter words in Goon: Last of the Enforcers. Joining them inside the ice rink, however, is Elisha Cuthbert. The "24" and Girl Next Door star joins the movie to play Pill's outlandish sister. Pill plays Eva, the love interest to rising hockey star Doug "The Thug" Glatt (Scott). This new movie finds Doug and his team, Halifax Highlanders, working with a variety of new players during a pro lockout. So it looks like Cutherbert isn't the only newbie in the Goon universe, and with production to begin on June 21 in Toronto under producers David Gross, Jesse Shapira and Jeff Arkuss,...

Blackhat What an ugly week for new DVD and Blu-ray releases. It's hard to even take it seriously, but at the top of the heap (only because it's the first one I'm writing about) is Michael Mann's supremely disappointing Blackhat. Some people attempted to make excuses for this attempted mess of a cyber thriller, but if you're interested in my take, click here.
Mortdecai I skipped this one and I feel no shame in doing so. In fact, that's all I'm going to say about it.
Still Alice Okay, now this isn't a bad film, I guess I just get frustrated every time I see it mentioned because Julianne Moore did not deliver the best female performance last year and yet, here we are, Oscar winner Julianne Mooore... because "it was her time".
The Cobbler I could have sworn this had already been released, but I guess I was wrong.

After his wife leaves him, Ted decides to go home and face or confront the people he feels are responsible for turning him into who he has become. Drop in the Bucket: Cox’s Uneven Directorial Debut
Actress Courtney Cox makes her directorial debut with Just Before I Go, based on the first feature screenplay from television alum David Flebotte. Attempting to navigate a trajectory of meaningful emotional pathos through a gutter of adult humor many write off as mere vulgarity, Cox’s film ultimately feels like the R rated version of some made-for-tv film as it attempts to extend the horizon of outsider ennui to all origins of suicidal tendency. The film isn’t without a laugh or two, but a severe tonal swerve from black comedy to sentimental PSA seems more silly than sincere, and the narrative just simply isn’t strong enough to correctly reconcile the supposed melancholy of its likeable protagonist with such a pedestrian resolution.
After his wife Penny (Elisha Cuthbert) leaves him, pet store worker Ted (Sean William Scott) decides that he wants to kill himself.

Fans of the hockey comedy Goon, take heart. However, it now looks as if everything on Goon 2 is set, as star Seann William Scott revealed during a reddit Ama for his film Just Before I Go (which opens in select theaters Friday), that shooting begins this summer: "Heh! Well, I did a bit of fight training for Goon. For Goon 2, I've been fight-training for the past month, and next month in May I start working with an Mma fighter, and then some skating (obviously, a lot of skating). We start shooting Goon 2 in mid-June, and if everybody does their jobs and we execute the amazing script that Jay [Baruchel] and his co-writer wrote,...
