Much Darker and Mature than its Predecessor

I imagine this show has its problems already, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this next Mesozoic installment in the Jurassic franchise. People can expect to see a lot more gruesome and chilling moments, and a lot of action packed thrills.

Even if the series might be too dark for an audience of at least 8 years old, the character arcs have come full circle since Camp Cretaceous, with even more development to be found in a fully established cast.

If you don't like to get your socks scared off, this series may not be for you, but it will immediately be forgiven due to the immense growth all of the characters go through. I absolutely cannot wait for Season 2!

Shouldn't be for kids

I'm a 26 year old and have been into Camp Cretaceous since it came out. I was so pumped to see a new show with them as young adults. I LOVED it and was so pleased from start to finish. I'm a huge dinosaur fan and this show was very entertaining to watch, even though it's a cartoon aimed for children, I still believe anyone of any age can watch. It does not make you feel like you're watching a show for kids, there is a solid plot, and very good suspense scenes. The character development is great as well and it's so cool to be able to see the characters as their older selves. Also, BUMPY, so happy she's back and able to be reconnected with Ben. If you're hesitant to give it a go, don't be, the show is great.

Huge improvment

Wow. Just wow. This series has really captured my imagination on what dinosaurs and humans would do together since dominion didn't do that. This film also had many good dino fights and animated clips which were astonishing and extremely thrilling throughout the entire journey that were made out of joyful experiences with pure and raw excitement . This is a huge step up from camp Cretaceous season 5 and dominion. Good show and I hope they keep this running. There don't need to be any improvements just mainly improve the side human characters. The only reason this ain't a ten because it lacks the interest of human characters (side characters) which adds a dull factor into this review. However, overall, it is really good and a well received 9/10.

ITS PEAK

ITS PEAK.

The angst is amazing, so much more dark and mature compared to the old show. Chaos theory should definitely not be rated y7, but that otherwise the plot is amazing. A perfect amount of suspense, mystery, and drama which isn't aggravating to watch. The grief is real in the characters, and every episode is unpredictable with complicated character relationships and accurate representations of coping mechanisms with grief and loss. Also with the addition of actual terrifying characters? The lady with the micro bangs is going to actually give me nightmares.

Would highly, HIGHLY, recommend to watch. Although the camp cretaceous first series with five seasons may be a drag to watch, the results are with it. Me my friend and my sister all watched chaos theory premiere and were in awe. We may be well over the recommended age for this show, but it's just that good.

Improvement from the og show buy a lot

Watched this show back in 2022-23 with my friend wasn't terrible but the og show had a lot of issues but it did truly get better first few episodes are pretty slow kinda just like the og show but it got a whole lot more trilling from there sure it's predictable but me and my friends really enjoyed it even more then the first show from here the directors should work on making the show less predictable but i like the voice acting and mentions of trauma in the show not a huge fan of darius liking brooklyn but can't say i didn't see it coming. Yaz and sammy as a couple were kinda cringe to me in the og show but there very realistic and entertaining in this new show. Darius still just seems to refuse to tell his friends stuff but again got a lot better.

Didn't think a cartoon could make me cry

Oh man this was so good. Way better than then the last two Jurassic World movies. I started the first episode just to see where they were going with it and I was hooked for the entire night. Finished the whole season in one sitting. It's dark and all you want in a Jurassic movie. The story was compelling and you wanted to know more after every episode. It pulls at the heart string. Had me balling out some tears. 😭 and yes an animation show like this had me crying. It was just that damn good. I really wish this was an actual movie because this is what I wanted to see in theaters. Not sure how they got it right through animation but manage to messed it up with the Jurassic world movies. Definitely a must watch show. Trust me it's not for the little ones. It's pretty dark.

Too mature for Y7

Still better than the Jurassic World Movies.

I love this series. So much more mature than Camp Cretaceous and that was a pretty mature show to begin with. Loved every nail-biting moment and emotional beat with the characters. Voice acting is still really good, I hardly felt Ryan Potter and Jenna Ortega' absence. Though, I do miss them. Animation felt crisper, but still has that DreamWorks TV style that makes everything feel like a large empty space. But the characters, the writing, animation, score, it was top notch and definitely will be a show I go back to again and again. Hard to belive we have a sequel series and yet no volume 2 dvd... Regardless, I loved it and cannot wait for season 2! Also I need the whole camp fan figures!

So cool but so dumb. Mindless entertainment, always with a "who's actually behind all this" twist.

Sammy is the worst character possibly ever written into any show ever! Goodness...

Of course, all the characters are about as defined and developed as a two week old prune. Darius just can't seem to tell any of his best friends anything... really dude?!

I swear this should be way better than it is. How can these "kids" be this much older and still be as immature and clueless as they were as children. I suppose they're trying to capture the same young audience as the previous show but it fails in so many ways.

The antagonist weirdo chic (who appears to be robot) finishes this season unexplained, of course. Which is par for the course if you've watched Camp Cretaceous.

Finally, you won't be too surprised with hope this open ended finale concludes. Hoping for a better run-on when this returns.

Masterpiece

Everything about this show was incredible! The storyline is amazing! You felt more connection to the original characters and cares more for them. The quality of the animation has improved and Is movie quality. Unlike the last show, which felt like it lost its shine in the last season, I couldn't stop watching this show! I needed to know what happens next, I became a bit addicted. The story and scenes are much darker and more intense too! I wouldn't say it's for a younger audience under 7 years old. Can't wait for more as long as it stays on the same path it's on and they keep the same writes onboard.

Amazing Show - it has thrill, Action, Darkness, friendship & Adventure!

What an amazing show, I would say this new series is better than Camp Cretaceous, it's definitely a lot darker which might make it slightly inappropriate for children but more engaging for teenagers and adults. The new dinosaurs and characters introduced are brilliant.

Moving the plot of season 2 to Senegal Africa was a fabulous idea and giving a new scenery, new characters and a chance to introduce other current animals into the plot. Which was fun. I couldn't really find Anything wrong with the show from season 1-2, I like how the characters have all matured and grown into these far more in depth complex characters on the show. 10/10 for me!

Everything I wanted from this show and more

I know everyone has said this, but this show is much darker then Camp Cretaceous, which gives it a thrill we didn't quite see with that show. Mind you that doesn't mean any disrespect to Camp Cretaceous, which is still a very enjoyable show. But for a guy who has obviously grown since the show came, it was an awesome surprise to see how this show takes everything from that one and takes it up a lot of notches.

The casual chatter, the emotion, the heart beating fear, everything is actually incredible in this show. Give it to the actors for doing their best with this show.

And don't even get me started on the animation, some of the best I've seen out of Netflix shows like this one, the backgrounds are breathtaking, and even the characters are notched up to their best.

This is what I wanted to see out of Dominion that we never saw, actual normal lives being interrupted by dinosaur mayhem. Things we were all waiting for until that film came out, sad to see this show meet those expectations and not one of the big budget Jurassic Movies.

Overall, the show defiantly pays off for the longer wait they needed to make this show compared to the other seasons, and I completely recommend checking it out if you are a dinosaur enthusiast who watched the last show.

Non stop chaos

My significant other(35)and I(29) have binge watched every single episode since camp Cretaceous and we have been sent through a rollercoaster of emotions and stress and suspense. For bring a young children's rated show it sure has terrifying and dangerous aspects which honestly we are still surprised it's rated as such. We are completely obsessed and craving more! This show has no business being as good as it is 😫👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 the character development, the plot, the acting, the animation style, the writing, the pure shenanigans one after the other. We can't say enough great things about the show. WE NEED MORE ASAP!!!!!

Amazing

The writing just gets better and better.

After the disaster that was Camp Cretaceous season 4 and 5, it's refreshing to see such an amazing show come together in Chaos Theory. The plot is extremely well done, with little to no plot holes whatsoever. Sometimes, I even forget that this show was made for kids. It feels like an adult show in everything but voice acting, and I can live with that.

If Dreamworks, Universal, and Amblin manage to keep this momentum up in future seasons, we could be looking at one of, if not the greatest Jurassic Park/World media in recent times.

10/10, would watch again.

Did he just say Demorpheons?!?

What happens when you write a couple of unlikable and annoying characters, let them behave like no no human would, give them the thickest plot armor of all time and then throw them into a franchise you don't really care about?

This show happens!

I really tried my best to start again and give it another try after season 1 and the whole lot of Camp Cretaceous but we're now again at a point where dinosaurs are just fighting and snapping at everything just because why not. Even if they clearly just fed, or even if the humans are not even on their "menu" the animals depicted here have the strong urge to run, scream and snap after everything that moves. And they switch from hunting to stalking exactly how the plot armor lets them. Again and again and again these active hunters slip and slide and stumble and fall at every possible moment; it's almost slapstick.

And everything peaks when the so called "dinosaur nerd" of the group calls a flock of Dimorphodons: "Oh no... Demorpheons!" And they just didn't even care to correct it...

A kids show with "cool dinosaurs" and no sense at best and a disgrace for what the Jurassic franchise once was.

Fantastic sequel to a fantastic show!

I loved Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and this show really one-upped that one!

Like everyone else is saying, this show got a lot darker than the original ever did. That said, this show is definitely not for 7 year olds. Much darker material, with some more adult themes here and there.

The animation quality really improved between the two shows, and the same goes for the writers' ability to handle tense scenes. Had me on the edge of my seat at times!

I can't believe how much better this show is than the new movies. Seriously, HUGE difference. The plot is way more interesting than the third movie.

Can't wait for season 2!

When comes the live action series??

Okay, after Camp Creta they should have casted these characters into a live action version for this continuation. In the age of tv shows this is really hard to believe they still haven't thought about a Jurassic World series yet. This storyline would be perfect for that. Give those guys some raise who created this because, these characters are so deep and emotional, way more conolex than what we got from the movies, also the whole show is just 100 times better than the three Jurassic World movies all together. The drama, the tension, the action, visuals and photography of the scenses are all exceptional. Make it live. Now.

NETFLIX MAKE SEASON 2 HAPPEN NOW!!!!!

I was a big fan of Camp Cretaceous and it's easily the best entry of the Jurassic Park Franchise to date, so I decided to binge watch all of Chaos Theory in one day and this show is an easy #3 in the Jurassic Park Franchise.

Positives for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024-): This show is a lot darker and mature than its predecessor. This show takes the premise that was briefly explore in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), but this show expands upon that premise and takes it to new levels. I still really enjoy all of these characters and it was great to see them continue their stories through this new story. And finally, this show ends off with an awesome cliffhanger that I hope gets explored in Season 2.

Overall, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024-) is a awesome continuation to this animated Jurassic World Universe and while it's not a awesome as Camp Cretaceous, it's still an amazing animated show.

Amazing Must-Watch

The story continues 6 years later from Camp Cretaceous with the original characters. The story is well-written, the animation is great, the action keeps you watching, and the pacing keeps your attention.

This season (series?) is much more involved, mature, and darker than the previous ones but also has a lot of light-hearted moments that make for great continuity and connection to the characters from previous seasons. The mystery of it and the characters coming together really keeps the essence of the show while bringing something fresh to the storyline.

I honestly think at this point that adults might enjoy it more than children would due to the content and themes. Some action parts might be a little bit frightening for children who are a bit younger, especially with characters/dinosaurs jumping out and with loud noises. Some of the dinosaurs might look a bit scary. Younger children also might not understand the storyline as much since it tends to lean on the more mature side but it's still a good watch.

My only concern is the inclusion and continuation of the Yaz and Sammy romance. Since this is labeled as a show for kids on Netflix, I don't think parents will assume that LGBT themes would be included. The previous season included Sammy questioning her sexuality as a running theme (which is a topic that is too mature for this kind of show in my opinion). I personally think it's wrong to include it without adding some sort of notice for parents who would like to have a discussion with their children or wait until their children are of a certain age to discuss this topic with them. This was something that was not usually a concern some years ago so I could understand if parents assume that this theme would not be included in a show labeled for kids. This theme is more prominent than any other theme of romance in the show and the most outright one with the kissing and continuous conversation surrounding it. It didn't have to be included but also, while being included, it didn't have to be so obvious. It feels forced and even the relationship between Brooklynn and Kenji was so not outright and portrayed that way. It's just not appropriate for young children no matter what anyone's personal views are about relationships and sexuality.

Considering it all, it's an awesome show that I really enjoy watching as an adult. Overall, parents may want to be aware of that it might not be suitable for younger children due to some of the things I mentioned above but for older teens and adults, I think it's a great watch and high-quality animated series! Definitely entertaining!

Absolutely Amazing

Not only is this a fantastic show, but it is seriously one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. After seeing the characters grow in Camp Cretaceous, this show blossoms them as adults and really gets deep into each and every one of them. This show isn't just about dinosaurs, action, double-crossing, and bad corporations, but largely about friendship, mental health, personal strength, and a confrontation of the fact that life is not always easy. It's unflinching when providing the viewers with not necessarily kid-friendly themes, but adding in humor and some childish moments here and there to keep the younger audience watching. If you hated Jurassic World: Dominion, then this show (especially season 3, and hopefully season 4 as well) will give you exactly what you wanted. It handles the plot of that movie so much better in the third season while still managing to focus on the characters the viewers have formed such a great bond with over the 8 seasons they have been in over both shows. Don't skip this show. It's a masterpiece and the best entry in the Jurassic Park franchise.
