Jurassic World: La théorie du chaos

August 1 Will Be a Great Day for Jurassic Park Fans
Image
With Jurassic World: Rebirth taking a bite out of the box office, Jurassic Park fans get welcome news as the earliest installments of the dinosaur-heavy franchise land a major streaming home. Netflix is set to house the first Jurassic Park films later this summer.

Per ComicBook.com, Jurassic Park, The Lost World and Jurassic Park III are each coming to Netflix on Aug. 1. The trio of films joins Jurassic World entries such as Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion on Netflix, plus the animated series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, allowing fans to enjoy an abundance of content from the Jurassic Park franchise.

Starting in 1993, the Jurassic Park film series has been a gem for Universal Pictures ever since the rights to its titular book, penned by Michael Crichton, were bought three years earlier. Much like the book, the original Jurassic Park film, directed by Steven Spielberg, became a smash hit.

6 Scariest Moments in the ‘Jurassic Park’ Franchise While You Wait for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’
Image
I’ll never forget the first time I watched Jurassic Park. While I didn’t have the privilege of attending its original theatrical run, I remember begging my mom to rent the movie on VHS and then watching it three times in a row in utter amazement. Naturally, I became obsessed with this blockbuster Michael Crichton adaptation and soon sought out the source material for more dinosaur-related thrills.

Like many other kids at the time, I was unprepared for the novel’s dark tone and copious amounts of gore (not to mention all of the hard sci-fi elements). However, I soon grew to appreciate how one of the biggest summer blockbusters of all time was actually based on a weird little horror book. And in honor of the latest entry in the Jurassic Park series promising to bring genetic terror back to the films after years of tamed velociraptors, we...

Why The Jurassic World Movies Never Featured Full-On Dinosaur City Chaos
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

The "Jurassic World" trilogy, not unlike the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy, is going to go down as a mixed bag in one of the world's biggest franchises. The first movie in the series, directed by Colin Trevorrow, was a massive hit, bringing us back to a fully functioning dinosaur theme park. The sequel, "Fallen Kingdom," literally blew up Isla Nublar and helped set up a world where dinosaurs and humans would be forced to co-exist. 2022's "Dominion" never fully committed to what we thought was going to happen: dinosaurs rampaging in cities across the world. So, why didn't that happen, exactly?

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Trevorrow was asked about the lack of dinosaurs attacking cities in the "Jurassic World" trilogy. Though "Dominion" largely works to isolate the dinosaurs once again, instead focusing on giant locusts for much of the run time,...

Netflix's 92% Rotten Tomatoes Jurassic World Spin-Off Sets Release Date as 'Rebirth' Stomps Into Theaters
Image
Jurassic World: Rebirth will stomp into theaters in just a few weeks, but another project set in the world of dinosaurs just got a thrilling update. Netflix has officially confirmed that Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has been renewed for Season 4, and the streamer even debuted the first image from the upcoming season, which can be found below. Chaos Theory Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on November 20 later this year, around seven months after the third season hit the streamer earlier this year. Netflix has released three seasons of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory in just under a year — an impressive turnaround considering the platform has a history with long inter-season gaps. As with all previous seasons, fans can expect every episode of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory to hit the streamer at once.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory was written and created by Scott Kreamer and Zach Stentz, with Nick Rodriguez, Sara Karimipour,...

Colin Trevorrow Talks Producing ‘Deep Cover,’ the Return of ‘Jurassic World’ and Star Wars Detachment
Image
Colin Trevorrow has his eye on the next generation of filmmakers.

After shepherding his Jurassic World trilogy to the box-office tune of nearly $4 billion worldwide, the filmmaker turned his attention to his production banner, Metronome Film Company. Trevorrow’s mission is to create opportunities for up-and-coming filmmakers in the same way that Steven Spielberg once did for him on 2015’s Jurassic World.

“Because I’ve had some success in my career, my absolute top priority is not just paying it forward, but also being able to introduce new talent to move us forward,” Trevorrow tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We don’t have farm teams in Hollywood, and I think that it’s a responsibility of filmmakers to identify who’s next. A lot of these icons that we have now were identified by another filmmaker, and that’s something I would love to have on my record.”

‘Adolescence’ Becomes Netflix’s No. 4 Most Popular English-Language Series Ever With 114 Million Views and Counting
Image
“Adolescence” has not stopped gaining steam. Last week, the U.K. limited series joined Netflix’s list of its most popular English-language series of all time last week at No. 9, knocking “Bridgerton” Season 2 off the list and pushing “Stranger Things” Season 3 down to No. 10. Now, “Adolescence” is in fourth place on the list with 114 million views in only 24 days.

The series is now only behind “Wednesday” Season 1 (252.1 million views), “Stranger Things” Season 4 (140.7 million views) and “Dahmer: Monster” (115.6 million) on the list. It appears likely to eventually usurp at least the “Stranger Things” and “Dahmer,” as Netflix measures this list based on 91 days of viewing for each title, so “Adolescence” still has more than two months to catch up.

17.8 million of the show’s 114 million-view total came during the May 31-April 6 viewing window, making it the No. 1 TV title of the week in its fourth week on Netflix.

‘Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’ Season 3 Ending Explained & Finale Recap: Will There Be A Season 4?
Image
The ending of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 3 was largely about the Handler getting her revenge on Soyona Santos for separating her from Atrociraptors. But before getting to that, I have to make a clarification. While talking about the ending of Season 2, I was a little confused about the timeline of the events of the show and how it matched up with what was happening in the movies, especially after Biosyn CEO Lewis Hodgson and Santos entered the picture. With its Malta set piece, Season 3 made it clear that the show was taking place parallel to the movies. I mean, we kind of saw the moment where Santos got the Atrociraptors to go after Claire Dearing while the chaos at the underground dino market spilled onto the streets and Owen Grady used a bike to escape the Atrociraptors that were after him. We didn’t learn what happened to Barry...

The Jurassic Worldmovies may have shaken up the franchise, but its overlooked animated series has proven to be the strongest addition to "the Jurassic era." It’s incredible to see how far Jurassic Park has come over more than three decades, continuing to evolve rather than going extinct. Despite being called “inherently unfranchiseable” by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow, the series has expanded its story and legacy with each new installment. However, most audiences have only experienced half of the Jurassic World story. They have only met a fraction of the characters and, ultimately, have missed out on some of the best adventures the Jurassic Park franchise offers. As major streaming services are looking to cut their annual content budgets, Netflix is looking to grow theirs. He said:

"We look at it every quarter, every year and iterate. We are not anywhere near a ceiling. We also balance having enough for the long-term investment to continue to drive growth. I do think we are still just getting started."

Oscar nominees ‘Dune,’ ‘Wicked,’ ‘Wild Robot,’ and ‘Emilia Pérez’ all win at 2025 Mpse Golden Reel Awards: Full list of winners
Image
On Sunday, the Motion Picture Sound Editors announced the winners of the Mpse Golden Reel Awards, and four of the five Oscar nominees for Best Sound came away victorious: Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and The Wild Robot. The fifth Oscar nominee, A Complete Unknown, had two Golden Reel nominations, but didn't win.

Dune claimed top honors for effects/foley. Wicked was awarded for music editing. The Wild Robot had the best sound editing for animation. And Emilia Pérez won the award for international features. Surprisingly, the dialogue/Adr prize went to Saturday Night, which ranked fifth in Gold Derby's odds, with only one user predicting that result.

A Complete Unknown may have been the odd movie out at the Golden Reels, but it did win the Cas Award for its sound mixing, while Dune claimed the BAFTA Award for its sound. Every single Best Sound nominee at the...

Jurassic World Rebirth May Fix a 32-Year-Old Jurassic Park Mistake
Image
Quick LinksJurassic World Rebirth Teased a Classic Scene, But Which One?Why the River Cruise Matters in the Jurassic Park FranchiseWhat Jurassic World Rebirth's Revelation Reveals About the Movie

As Jurassic World Rebirth continues to share details, the movie is already claiming to correct a 32-year mistake. Jurassic Park is an iconic story that has passed through the hands of countless filmmakers, writers, and creative visionaries, each leaving their mark on its enduring legacy. However, the sheer scale of the story, adapted from Michael Crichton's groundbreaking novel, meant that many scenes were cut, adapted, or completely rewritten for the big screen. Now, with Jurassic World Rebirth, the franchise appears to be revisiting its roots, potentially addressing fan demands to see elements from the novel that have remained untapped since 1993.

Written by celebrated sci-fi author Michael Crichton, 1990's Jurassic Park transported readers to a futuristic theme park where genetic engineering...

Some of the most anticipated projects include Stranger Things 5 and Wednesday Season 2, neither of which have premiere dates just yet. Of the dates that were revealed, perhaps the biggest surprise is that the third and final season of Squid Game is coming sooner than audiences might have anticipated, premiering on June 27. June will also bring another season of Ginny & Georgia.

The year will also see another...

Netflix's Most-Watched Series & Movies of 2024 Includes 1 Anime (& Probably Not the 1 You Think)
Image
Despite the increasing popularity of anime, there was only one anime series that made the Top 10 globally for Netflix Original releases in 2024. This is despite the numerous major anime released during the year, some of which had been hyped through the roof.

However, even with this competition, a rather experimental Gundam series was ultimately the only anime to hit a particular milestone for the streaming service. Mobile Suit Gundam remains one of the biggest anime franchises in the world, with many of the shows available to stream on various platforms. Almost always a popular watch, the most recent series attained an interesting and unexpected level of success in 2024, especially on streaming platform Netflix.

Mpse Nominations: ‘Dune: Part Two,’ ‘Wicked,’ ‘Emilia Pérez’ All Sound Off
Image
The Motion Picture Sound Editors (Mpse) have announced the nominations for the 72nd Annual Mpse Golden Reel Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in sound editing, sound design, music editing, and foley artistry in film, television, and video games. While more casual moviegoers (and fans of “The Thrilling Adventure Hour” bits) can easily recognize the creative wizardry in physically producing sound effects via foley, every part of the sound process is crucial to making us feel the physical and emotional reality of the films and shows we watch.

The nominees are very much in line with the frontrunners for the 2025 Best Sound Oscars. The “Dune: Part Two” team was recognized for dialogue editing/Adr, effects/foley, and music editing, as was “Deadpool & Wolverine,” with “Alien: Romulus,” “Wicked,” and “Emilia Pérez” all scoring nominations in feature sound categories as well.

On the television side, there’s a pleasant mix of action-packed juggernauts...

10 Best Darren Barnet Movies & TV Shows, Ranked
Image
One of the most popular romantic comedy actors of the 2020s, Darren Barnet has been quite busy recently. The 33-year-old actor made his name playing the dashing Paxton Hall-Yoshida on the Netflix series "Never Have I Ever." Since then, he has seemingly maintained a close relationship with the behemoth streaming service, having been asked back for several projects since the previous series ended.

As of writing, his body of work has begun to break free of his not-so-modest rom-com beginnings -- though he still popped up in one of the most popular films of the genre released in the last decade. Moreover, he's also lent his voice to several animated series (targeted at kids and adults alike), cameoed in a high-profile remake of a classic '80s action drama, and even played a key supporting role in one of the few decent video game movies to ever make it to theaters.
