"In your next life, don't be so good."
This series gave me serious "Marry My Husband" vibes which I really liked as that drama was amazingly well done.
Nevertheless, this drama did not disappoint me one bit with its exciting, different story including lots of dramatic scenes, intrigues, and unexpected revelations that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
It centers around a wonderful couple that finds to each other under quite unusual circumstances, where the love was practically overflowing from some point onwards.
Additionally, Do-guk's behavior, his unconditional support, and simple presence show what love is actually about.
Meanwhile, this is the empowering story of Yi-joo learning to love herself first and foremost instead of sacrificing everything for people who only exploited her.
Lastly, this series has great story developments that are more than highlighted by amazing acting.

For fans of Love Marriage Divorce this glossy revenge drama should have been great fun. The cast has so many familiar faces from that show including Sung Hoon and Lee Min Young. It's great to see the lovely Lee Min Young in a lead villainess role all dressed to kill. Total contrast from her sweet role in LMD. Also some of the older generation are here too like the Professor and Golf Resort owner. I enjoyed Jung Yoo Min in Red Balloon where she really shone. Everyone is well dressed and elegant. Even the older generation is great with Lee Mi Sook and other top older actors.
This is a makjang style revenge drama. A woman is murdered but goes back a year and changes things. The cinderella gets her justice. It's quite satisfying to see the bad guys get punished one by one very clearly. It's not rushed for the end like some earlier revenge dramas. In fact the happy part is very long. But some parts of the story are just not well written enough. The villains are too one dimensionally simplistic. Unlike better revenge shows PMR has weak scenes and is often not exciting. Some of the characters' actions and dialogue are unconvincing. There isn't enough humour either. And I did not feel an emotional connection with the characters. Didn't love or hate them. At least Penthouse was funny if over the top. Btw Jennie from Penthouse plays a villainess here. The direction is oddly stiff and unnatural and the pace is monotonous. I don't know why they made the heroine Jung Yoo Min act in such a way. Often just staring blankly. She was so good in Red Balloon. Towards the end there is an interesting twist I wasn't expecting that brings things together.
This is a slightly disappointing show after the brilliance of Love Marriage Divorce which was so wise and funny. But I still had to watch it because it was so great to see the LMD cast again. The most interesting thing is their outfits. Oddly there is another show with a similar premise Marry My Husband. Hope that one is better.

I would classify this as "Kdrama - Melrose Place Style." It moves pretty quickly. It's not filled overly cliched Kdramas scenes (umbrella rescue, brushing teeth together, adults kissing with their eyes wide open.
The plot is straight forward with lots twists. Some predictable, some not.
The acting was a little eh in places but the FL did wonderful in her switch up. Sung Hoons voice sometimes is a little too deep so his lines come out like a Broadway performer but he's still pretty!
I'd absolutely recommend this if you want a more American night time soap feeling show versus a typical makjang.

There's an argument to be made about how Perfect Marriage Revenge had a perfect execution because it was a 12 episodes long drama and didn't have time for unnecessary conflicts. Everything took its right time and was resolved in a cohesive way with the characters development.
Both leads were compelling and had amazing chemistry, but the secondary characters were equally interesting to watch. All the performances outstanding and you can tell the actors are enjoying themselves in their respective roles.
On a story about a woman looking for revenge against her own family, this kdrama had a perfect balance between makjang and romcom. Making it an easy and fun watch. I highly recommend it!

What a surprisingly perfect show! I am a fan of contract marriages, revenge dramas, romances involving revenge and family dynamics, and this drama had it all. The actors were a pleasant surprise too, since I was seeing most of them for the first time, including the leads, and that when I have watched over a hundred K-Dramas already. I loved it that the story concluded in 12 episodes, and there were no unnecessary stretches that needed skipping or forwarding. I finished the show in two days flat, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting drama that keeps you hooked from start to finish!
