Columbia Pictures is shifting the release of “SNL” dramatization “Saturday Night” two weeks up to a limited platform release, ahead of the film’s wide release, the studio announced on Friday.

Sony is now giving Jason Reitman’s period comedy a three-tier rollout: it will first release the film in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto on Sept. 27, followed by a limited release on Oct. 4, before going wide on Oct. 11.

The film recently premiered at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival and garnered critical acclaim. The historical project currently holds an 85% Rotten Tomatoes critic score.

As the year winds down, streaming services appear to be taking a step back, licking their wounds from this strange pandemic production season, and looking to a hopefully brighter future. This is all to say that Hulu‘s list of new releases for December 2020 isn’t quite its most inspiring batch yet…and that’s Ok.

Hulu’s biggest original title this month is undoubtedly The Hardy Boys. This adaptation of the classic boy detective novels is aimed at younger audiences and will premiere on Dec. 4. Then, near the end of the month, Hulu is bringing a new season of a show that is decidedly not for younger audiences. Season 9 of the very funny and very Canadian Letterkenny arrives on Dec. 26.

Hulu also has some recent movies of note coming in December including Amy Seimetz’s diabolical She Dies Tomorrow on Dec. 4 and children’s movie The Secret Garden on Dec.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as the various streaming services are stocking their libraries with some great new titles this December to keep us going through the festive period. When it comes to Hulu, the Disney-owned platform is adding a few holiday-related movies and TV shows, but is mostly taking the track of stuffing itself full of classic films that the whole family can enjoy.

This includes a bunch of the best James Bond pics ever made, like GoldenEye, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldfinger and, the one that kicked it all off, Dr. No. That would be a perfect watch to honor Sean Connery, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Other action movies you might want to check out this December, meanwhile, include The Hurt Locker, The Fifth Element, 2003’s Hulk and the two “Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon” flicks, The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.

A woman is calling her newborn son her “Mirena baby” after she got pregnant despite having an Iud.

Lucy Hellein gave birth to her son, Dexter, on April 27, and uploaded a photo of him on her Instagram account with her Iud in his hand. The Iud was placed in his hand for the irony after it was discovered behind the placenta fully intact.

Dexter was born 9 lbs 1 oz in Fort Benning, Georgia, and his mother called him a “little jedi.” Hellein’s original due date was May 4, also known as Star Wars Day.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan‘s wife Jeannie is recuperating after having a “life-threatening” brain tumor surgically removed in April – with the love and support of the couple’s large brood.

Taking to Facebook on Monday, Gaffigan wrote, “Two weeks ago an Mri revealed @jeanniegaffigan had a large tumor around her brain stem that was life threatening. After nine hours of urgent surgery, the tumor was completely removed. She is now recovering at home. We thank you for your continued prayers.”

United Airlines has announced “substantial” policy changes following the recent incident aboard a recent flight when a passenger was dragged off the plane.

“The changes are the result of United’s thorough examination of its policies and procedures, and commitment to take action, in the wake of the forced removal of a customer aboard United Express Flight 3411 on April 9,” the statement on the airline’s website read.

The airline says they will now limit law enforcement to safety and security issues. It will also not require customers seated on the plane to give up their seat involuntarily unless it poses a safety or security risk.

The last time Hollywood writers walked out seeking a better deal, there were consequences for several tentpoles and would-be franchises.

Hollywood is facing the threat of another Writers’ Guild Strike, one which would immediately stop all writing and rewriting on guild signatory productions — essentially everything from the major studios. So far, negotiations have been contentious, with the WGA arguing that though the business has seen record profits, the average writer’s income has declined in this boom period. And yet, at the bargaining table, the AMPTP — who represent the producers — came offering not gains, but rollbacks. They basically asked the writers to accept less than their current contracts.

The total cost of what the writers are asking for is not particularly excessive. For instance, the cost to Disney would be $21.2 million a year — barely more than half of Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger’s $43.9 million salary last year. I don’t want to get too far...

Olivia Enderle is up to a whopping 6,000 birthday cards — and the mail keeps coming.

Two weeks before the Michigan girl celebrated her eighth birthday on March 26, her mother, Emily Enderle, posted a plea on Facebook asking friends, family and strangers to send cards to Olivia, who was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma when she was 13 months old.

Family, friends and colleagues of Dan Markel, a popular Florida State University law professor, have waited a long time for answers in his 2014 execution-style shooting.

Investigators suggest it was tied to his ex-wife’s family amidst a “bitter divorce” and child custody disagreement.

Markel, 41, died a day after he was shot point-blank in the head while parked in his Honda Accord in the garage of his suburban Tallahassee, Florida, home about 11 a.m. on July 18, 2014.

Two named suspects are proclaiming their innocence in the alleged murder-for-hire plot and are headed to trial — while a third has pleaded guilty and is working with police.

Previously announced to return were “NCIS” and “The Big Bang Theory,” which was recently renewed through the 2018-2019 season in a two-year agreement between CBS and Warner Bros. TV.

CBS announced 18 renewals in all on Thursday. Most of the shows renewed are produced by CBS’ in-house unit, CBS Television Studios. (“Kevin Can Wait” is a co-production with Sony, while “Big Bang” and “Mom” come from Warner Bros. TV and “Life In Pieces” is produced by 20th Century Fox TV.

Terrence Howard knows he isn’t perfect.

Well, that didn’t take very long. Two weeks on from the moment when CBS announced the casting of Iain Armitage, Variety brings word that the network has ordered its Young Sheldon spinoff straight to series, with plans in place for a 2017-18 premiere.

Jack Kirby created the Black Racer and his bedridden alter ego Sgt. Willie Walker in 1971. In the origin story Walker, an African American is paralyzed during a firefight in Vietnam. The army returns the young hero home where his wife resigns herself to taking care of him.

The Source, Kirby’s mysterious power entity visits Walker and turns him into the Black Racer. Doing so gives Walker the power to fly, travel between worlds and with just a touch bring death instantly to anyone. The Black Racer moves between worlds via the Boom Tube, uses skis to fly, and his death touch can come from his eyes or hands.

Weeks after having a heart attack, Biggest Loser host Bob Harper posted a video to Instagram of himself doing a treadmill stress test on his road to recovery.

Good to see him taking care of himself after the scary incident, which reportedly left Harper unconscious for two days.

"Two weeks ago yesterday I had a heart attack," Harper wrote on Instagram on Feb. 27, while reassuring fans, "I am feeling better. Just taking it easy."
