K-pop stars Enhypen are in the middle of a banner year.
Back with their sixth EP, Desire : Unleash, the seven-member boy group under Hybe’s Belift Lab made their Coachella debut in April and are preparing to head out on a world tour across North America and Europe.
Enhypen — comprised of members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki — were formed through the music survival show I-Land. The show, a joint venture between Hybe and Korean entertainment giant Cj Enm, aired on the Cj Enm-owned channel Mnet in South Korea.
On the latest album, the group, unsurprisingly, explores desire in all its forms. Their lead single, “Bad Desire (With or Without You)” is endlessly catchy and sonically in line with past releases. The otherworldly music video starts with a chilling voiceover: “Did you really think I could just stand by and watch you disappear?” Enhypen’s lore — the...

“The vibe is so different this time around,” Enhypen’s leader, Jungwon, tells The Hollywood Reporter on a Zoom from Seoul, South Korea.
Enhypen – comprised of members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki – released their second full-length studio album Romance : Untold last week, with “Xo (Only If You Say Yes)” serving as its lead single. Perfect for the summer, the Jvke-produced synth-pop track is a sweet and romantic anthem, a lighter affair than Enhypen’s typically darker pop offerings.
“This time around, with this album, all seven of us participated in writing the lyrics, and Heeseung actually wrote and produced a whole song,” Jungwon explains, hyping up his fellow group member.
The seven-piece boy group, hailing from Korean entertainment company Belift Lab (a subsidiary of entertainment conglomerate Hybe), were formed through the music survival show I-Land. The show, a joint venture between Hybe and Korean entertainment giant Cj Enm,...

Enhypen’s growth trajectory over the past four years is impressive, yet not surprising, given how hard the members have been working. Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki have been on their Fate Tour since July of last year (with the encore leg, dubbed Fate Plus, still ongoing). That doesn’t mean their other activities are on pause, either. In the couple of months leading up to the release of their second full-length album, Romance : Untold, Enhypen have held a fan meeting in Manila, performed at Weverse Con Festival in Seoul,...
