The entire mood of this 12 part series is unsettling. Catherine is about an employee who wants to go back to work after being gone for whatever reason. The whole series goes through daily operations at the office.

What makes the show unique is the tone and facial expressions by every character. It is not what they say but how it is said, as they can turn a simple lunch order into a dramatic experience.I honestly believe the goal was to blend simple dialogue with intense tension and see how long the viewer will watch.

This was a really creative project that stars Jenny Slate as the lead, which makes it that much better. I highly recommend giving this a try and it is on YouTube so it is easily accessible.

The only explanation I have for this collection of short videos is that I am not part of the intended audience. Believing this series was created for autistic young adults did help me to grasp its eccentricities. The briefness of the episodes; the focus on facial expressions paired to dramatic music; the lack of any believable dialog all seem designed to aid those with the inability to visually gather emotional cues from other people. Not knowing the series creators intentions, I'm left with trying to puzzle out the shadows on the wall of my Platonic cave. If my speculations are off the mark, please keep an open mind and understand that I am trying to get this series seen by the audience that will most benefit from its qualities.

I hate to be one of those "It's not for everyone"/"You have to "get it"- type reviews but this really is one of those shows.

It's an exercise in neutrality with interjections of events that would seem mundane and go unnoticed in real life but in this emotionally- sterile environment read as significant and almost-sinister.

Unnatural interactions/reactions and ominous music during mundane moments makes this a strange but amusing watch. The show plays with the stale and odd dynamics (or in this case, the lack thereof) of office politics.

You'll either hate this and want to turn it off halfway through or find yourself trying to figure out the mystery of "the two pens" and the "unclaimed-apple."
