Worth Giving a Shot! i rate this 7.5/10 Its a good movie, watched it on the very first day. It was a instant decision to watch this movie. Like many others, even i didn't know much about this movie, but the decision turned out to be a good one. Very well directed and well acted by all the actors. Few scenes will definitely make you confused, thou the movie needed to be added with some extra drama and that's fine to some extend and goes well to with the movie story line. Movie is based on the real story but sometimes it does feel that it has been added with some extra stories to make this movie to at least extend and complete its 2 hours. It is also interested to see how different stories gets connected to each other. Its not a movie to watch for its story but for the fact that how that heart is actually being transferred.Movie somewhere lacks in that department, you will not get to see much of the scenes as how police actually manages the traffic, movie goes more towards the other stories, like political angle, marital affair, love angle. All these extra masala makes the movie weak and often moves the movie turn towards those stories which most of the times looks unnecessary.
Movie is also added with Hindu Muslim angle which indeed a nice move and makes the movie more interesting. Story will keep you connected through out.

Based on a true story and a Malayalam movie of the same name, Traffic, showcases the heroic efforts of the police force, who successfully transport a heart between two cities by road. Superstar Dev Kapoor's (Prosenjit Chatterjee) daughter is critically ill and can only be saved if she gets a donor heart in time. Meanwhile in Mumbai, a journalist (Vishal Singh) meets with an accident and has just a few hours to live. Knowing that their son won't survive, his parents decide to donate his heart to the ailing girl.Manoj Bajpayee as Constable Godbole is absolutely fantastic. The actor delivers an outstanding performance but is let down by a weak script. Besides Bajpayee, none of the actors get enough screen time, which is a blessing as they ham it up big time. Jimmy Shergill does get some witty lines in which he criticizes Mumbai's roads and traffic but besides that the actor has very little to do. It is disappointing to see Divya Dutta, Vikram Gokhale, and Sachin Khedekar play such poorly written characters.
There is very little to appreciate in Traffic. However, if you are a fan of over-the-top thrillers, this one may appeal to you.

Director Late Mr. Rajesh Pillai work is good. He enhances the pace of film by his perfect way of shot taking and narration. Story by Sanjay and Bobby, is based upon few real incidents and developed interestingly. Screenplay by Suresh Nair is fine. Dialogues are very lame and boring. This subject would have received good support from dialogues but they are just informative or even irritating. Like the conversation between chief medical superintendent and Traffic Commissioner is very raw which is a crucial scene of the film. I was complete aware about the beginning and end of this film by just watching the trailer but after that witnessing the journey was interesting. Emotional angle are placed in very balanced way. Like between the dead guy Rehan and Aditi, in few shot and words it is clear about there concern, hesitation and care. When doctor allows just one person to visit him, Rehan friend decides to send Aditi inside. It was very emotional. Rehan father notices it and calls Aditi in climax, which established father helpful and progressive nature. This way Rehan father character is justified very ably. Manoj Bajpeyee character is also justified in good way, the reason to prove himself. His daughter angle and the cause behind his humiliation just in brief flashes are perfect. The sub track of doctor Abel looks stuffed a bit. Hero in this film is 'Tata Safari Storme'. Actions scenes need especial mention. They are just perfect and keep you at the edge of seat. Credit goes to K.S.Prakash and R.P.Yadav. Performance wise Manoj Bajpeyee as constable Godbole is first rate. He gives you the feel of a real constable which is determined to prove himself. Sachin Khedekar as Rehan father is very good, especially in emotional scenes. Jimmy Shergil as traffic commissioner is good.
When I launched BookMyShow app yest. morning, I was shocked to find almost all 3D and 3D Max shows of Captain America are houseful till Sunday night. On the other hand, almost all the shows of a little known movie called Traffic was empty. I bought the tickets of Traffic for late night show.
As I was entering the almost empty theater at Mall of India, an uncle and his wife were also entering, and the uncle was saying, "The whole theater is empty.. is it a bad movie?"
When the movie finished, I asked him, how was the movie.. He said, "Delhi walo ko to bas America ke hero hi ache lagte hain. Asli hero to Manoj Bajpayee nikla!" Clearly his eyes were moist, and he was avoiding direct eye-contact.
Traffic should have been named 'An Indian Life', because its much more than a story of how Bombay traffic police successfully transports a heart from Mumbai to Pune within 2.5 hours, how they controllled the traffic, managed the crowd, and introduced myriad elements of an Indian life within those 120 minutes of movie.. The movie is a commentary on human emotions, of failing, and then refusing to give up, about losing someone, but having the guts to let it go.. Its about bravery, its about failure, its about love and life.
I had always been huge fan of Malayalam movies, and this remake of a Malayalam movie is another example of how advanced, emotionally vulnerable and deep stories they produce. The movie is like a thriller mind-game.. With solid performance from actors like Manoj Bajpayee,Jimmy Shergill, Prosenjit Chatterjee (Bengali movie's superstar), Parambrata Chatterjee (another Bengali actor, from Kahani), Sachin Khedekar, Divya Dutta, Kitu Gidwani and more. Piyush Mishra's dialogues are just the icing on the cake.
After you celebrate American heros and the massive production of a super-hero movie.. do watch this humble offering from late Rajesh Pillai, who was a brilliant director, and could have done so much for the cinema.

The story of Traffic, takes place over the course of a single day and is inspired by a real-life incident from Chennai, as shown in the credits. In Pune, superstar Dev Kapoor's daughter is sick and needs an urgent heart transplant. Elsewhere in Mumbai, trainee journalist Reyhan meets with an accident and is declared clinically dead. Reyhan's parents decide to donate his heart to Dev's daughter. However, rains and low visibility conditions make it impossible to transport the heart by air and the only option is to traverse the 150 km by road. Though initially apprehensive, Joint Traffic Commissioner Raghubir Singh accepts the challenge and seeks a volunteer from among his men to drive at 120 kph, through the busy Mumbai streets. Disgraced traffic constable Godbole (who has just rejoined the force after being suspended for taking a bribe to help his sister) puts up his hand and thus begins the journey. He is joined by Reyhan's friend Rajeev and Dr Abel, a surgeon, who is battling his own personal demons.
The movie is a remake of Rajesh Pillai's Malayalam thriller of the same name. Traffic has been released after a long delay. Unfortunately, director Rajesh Pillai died before he could see the fruit of his efforts on screen.
