‘The Mouse Trap’ Review
Image
Stars: Damir Kovic, Nick Biskupek, Mackenzie Mills, Sophie McIntosh, Madeline Kelman, Simon Phillips | Written by Simon Phillips | Directed by Jamie Bailey

We’ve had Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey as well as its sequel, and a horror movie centred around Bambi is on the way. But the film that must really piss Disney off is The Mouse Trap. Filmed as Mickey’s Mouse Trap, which was probably a bit too much for the lawyers to allow, it turns their iconic rodent, or someone dressed him, into a psychotic killer.

A film like The Mouse Trap is only possible because the original Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie, finally slipped out from under copyright protection and into the public domain. So now Mickey, or the version of him in that cartoon, is fair game for other filmmakers. Something that a Star Wars-style open text crawl reminds the viewer of.

The actual film opens on Wednesday,...

Trailer for Indie Space Adventure Sci-Fi Movie - The Last Scout
You've got to check out this trailer for an incredible looking film in development called The Last Scout. This is an independent film directed by Simon Phillips, and he made it on a shoestring budget. He is currently trying to raise funds through Indiegogo so that he can finish the VFX and other post-production work. The movie is a sci-fi space thriller, and from what I've seen in this trailer this looks like it could be an incredibly impressive movie for what they've had to work with to make it.

The story takes place in the year 2065, and earth has been destroyed after a nuclear war between the East and the West. It kind of has the same vibe as Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, as mankind is forced to leave earth to try and survive by finding a new home.

The movie stars Rita Ramnani, Peter Woodward, Simon Phillips, Rebecca Ferdinando,...

Must Watch: First Trailer for Indie Sci-Fi Space Epic 'The Last Scout'
The year 2065 - war has destroyed Earth, mankind has been forced to leave. This is a must watch trailer for an indie sci-fi that seems to be going for something similar in scope to Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, except made on a shoestring budget. The Last Scout is a sci-fi space opera epic from filmmaker Simon Phillips that we first teased last year with a dark poster. Over a year has passed and we haven't heard or seen anything about this, but out of nowhere a teaser trailer has appeared, and the filmmakers are asking for Indiegogo funds to finish VFX and other post-production work. This trailer actually looks good, despite ending on that obnoxious explosion, but I'm still interested in checking this out. As long as it gets finished. Here's the first official teaser trailer for Simon Phillips' The Last Scout, direct from Vimeo: The official synopsis from...

The duo are the creative force behind the UK smash hit White Collar Hooligan and have branched into the Sci-Fi genre.

The film is a futuristic story of a crew of astronauts searching for a new home for humanity after Earth has been devastated by a nuclear war between the East and the West. A four week shoot has just wrapped at Hollywood’s Laurel Canyon stages, where the company built a complete spaceship.

Exclusive Look at The First Poster for UK Sci-fi The Last Scout
We have been following the production of Simon Phillips and Paul Tanter’s latest film over in La for a few weeks now and as production wraps on The Last Scout we’re very pleased to be able to bring you the first look at the film’s teaser poster.

Fresh from the success of the second in his White Collar Hooligan series Tanter and director Simon Phillips, along with their regular team of collaborators, have turned their focus to the outward urge. As with Dominic Burns’ UFO and post-apocalyptic thriller The Last Seven the continuing journey away from the dangerous gangland of the East End seems to be picking up pace and we’re likely to see other genres come under their focus.

All we know of The Last Scout is what the press notes have as a brief synopsis,

The film is a futuristic story of a crew...
