The upcoming episode of “The Woohoos!” titled “Windmill” promises to be an exciting adventure for fans. In this episode, Wynona takes on the challenge of building a model windmill. She puts a lot of effort into creating it, but when she finishes, she feels let down because the sails do not spin as she had hoped.

As Wynona shares her disappointment with the group, the Woohoos! come together to solve the problem. They soon realize that the windmill needs wind power to make the sails move. This sparks a fun exploration as they brainstorm ideas to create some wind.

Viewers can expect to see teamwork and creativity as the Woohoos! find a way to make Wynona’s windmill work. The episode will highlight the importance of problem-solving and working together, making it a delightful watch for all ages.

Partially funded by an IndieGogo campaign, writer/director/producer James Crow’s holiday horror anthology film Nightmare on 34th Street – which has been described as a cross between Pulp Fiction and Tales from the Crypt – is now set to make its way out into the world and will be receiving a digital release tomorrow courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing. In anticipation of that release, a trailer for the film has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.

Australia’s premier genre festival – Monster Fest – has unveiled its final wave of films for the 2016 festival, which is set to take place November 24-27 at the Lido Cinemas in Melbourne.

The team of features programmers – which includes festival director Kier-La Janisse, Monster Pictures co-founder Neil Foley, Boston Underground Film Festival Director of Programming Nicole McControversy and writer/programmer/punk legend Chris D. – vetted over 600 features in selecting the 2016 Monster Fest lineup, which includes new crime films Dog Eat Dog and The Hollow Point from Paul Schrader and Gonzalo López-Gallego respectively, gory slasher throwback The Windmill Massacre (reviewed here), the hometown premiere of epic period western The Legend of Ben Hall with cast in person and acclaimed Tiff selections Prevenge and Interchange alongside Fantastic Fest faves such as the Aussie-made yuletide thriller Safe Neighbourhood and the devastating – and polarizing – Playground.

Nick Jongerius' The Windmill Massacre, retitled The Windmill, is set to release this November in Canada. Already released in the USA on VOD, this Dutch shot film is definitely a slasher. In the film, an ancient legend grinds up the bones of trespassers, in a sinister-looking mill. The film stars: Bart Klever, Charlotte Beaumont and many others. A preview of the film's Canadian release is hosted here. The film's official trailer shows Jennifer (Beaumont), on the run. She escapes into the Dutch countryside, with a group of tourists. But then, their tour bus breaks down. Alone in the dark, the sightseers encounter something in the woods, something that promises them doom! With his horror film The Windmill now in release director Nick Jongerius is turning his attention to his next project, a scifi thriller titled The Abductee. While plot details are being kept under wraps for now Jongerius pitches it as somewhere in the vein of Scanners meets Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with its roots in an actual notorious abduction case. – The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) and The India Center Foundation are launching India Kaleidoscope, an exciting new festival that will present film lovers with a chance to immerse themselves in the unique sights and sounds that make up the Indian regional, independent film landscape. These films, which delve into the most relevant and pressing topics facing India, are being made by today’s most progressive filmmakers working in regional languages such as Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, and Bengali. Their films are insightful, topical, and provocative, bringing to light the dynamism and the challenges that face modern India and her many diverse communities.

The inaugural festival, taking place December 8 – 11 at the Museum, will feature eight films, including seven new titles that will be making their U.

We have been given a clip from Nick Jongerius' debut feature film The Windmill.  In this clip, Ruby, played by English actress Fiona Hampton (Kingsman The Secret Service), is lured outside from the shelter of an abandoned church. The Japanese lanterns will make sense when you watch the film. So does her impending death.  In my review of The Windmill I mentioned that some of the kills seemed to be inspired by slasher films like Wes Craven's Elm Street series. This was one of those kills that reminded me of that director's work, in the supernatural slasher realcom. There are far bloodier and more violent kills in the film. Dutch horror films don’t get any more on-brand than The Windmill. Maybe a horror movie about the little Dutch boy who plugged that dam and saved Holland? Nah. Big, wooden windmills acting as a gateway to Hell screams Dutch horror, much like the Australian main character, the Asian sidekick….alright, there’s a bit more diversity past locale stereotyping. In any case, director Nick Jongerius spills buckets of gore all over the Netherlands, as a demon dispatches sinners with his all-healing scythe. Heads roll in the name of soulful enlightenment, because karma is quite the bitch in this European slasher import. Grab your clogs and throw on a poncho, because Holland’s hottest sightseeing tour is about to get messy. Like messy/gory, but also messy scripting, and messy crafting.

The film’s protagonist ends up being Jennifer (Charlotte Beaumont), a homeless Aussie transplant who just got outted as being an illegal.

In his new film, The Windmill, Nick Jongerius transforms one of Holland's picturesque tourist attractions into a hub of blood-soaked horror. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Nick. When did you first come up with the idea for The Windmill?

Nick Jongerius: My pleasure. Thanks for your interest in the film. I first started thinking about the idea for this film after Frankenstein's Army. Our investors at that time were really interested in Holland, especially Amsterdam—the dikes, windmills, clogs, etc. This triggered me. I thought, "What if we use these famous touristic symbols of Holland and drench them in blood? Sort of turning it upside down. From there we shot a proof of concept,...

The companies have struck an alliance to jointly distribute 15 films a year in North America including co-acquisitions.

Commencing at the Afm in November, Blue Fox Entertainment will sell international rights to the slate and other XLrator Media titles.

The first film under the deal will be the thriller Good Tidings (pictured) on December 6, followed by supernatural thrillers Dark Signal and A Demon Within in 2017.

All films will go out on XLrator Media’s Macabre genre label.

The companies started their relationship earlier this year when XLrator Media acquired North American rights from Blue Fox to The Windmill, which launches on VOD and iTunes on October 25 and opens theatrically on October 28.

XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon and Blue Fox Entertainment co-founders James Huntsman and Todd Slater announced the partnership.

London-based genre festival to feature 19 world premieres and 35 UK & European premieres.

Horror Channel FrightFest has unveiled the line-up for its upcoming 17th edition, taking place at its new home of the Vue Shepherd’s Bush from Aug 25-29.

Sean Brosnan’s revenge thriller My Father Die [pictured] receives its European premiere as the opening film, while the UK premiere of Sang-ho Yeon’s Cannes title Train To Busan closes this year’s festival.

In total, the 62-strong feature line-up includes 19 world premieres and 35 UK & European premieres. Ivan Silvestrini’s Monolith, Tricia Lee’s creepy chiller Blood Hunters and Nick Jongerius’ gory The Windmill Massacre are among the world premieres.

Meanwhile, Adam Wingard’s eagerly anticipated The Woods will receive its European premiere in the Main Screen strand, playing alongside the likes of Stephen King adaptation Cell, Italian box office hit They Call Me Jeeg Robot and Cody Calahan’s Let Her Out.

In what was its most successful market outing to date, Monster Pictures also snapped up Anurag Kashap.s Bombay crime thriller Psycho Raman; Nicolas Pesce.s directorial debut The Eyes of My Mother; Billy O'Brian.s I Am Not A Serial Killer, which stars Christopher Lloyd and Max Records; Rohit Mittal.s debut Autohead; Satanic; UK/Dutch slasher The Windmill Massacre, starring Noah Taylor; and an in-production horror anthology to be announced shortly.

As the Frontières Co-Production Market, Brussels Edition, wraps up tonight in Brussels the first co-production deal has been announced. Chris W. Mitchell, writer of Frankenstein's Army and the upcoming horror flick The Windmill Massacre, had a new project at the market and he has found some like-minded folks who want to make it with him. Nick Jongerius' debut horror film The Windmill Massacre is currently is post and looking to debut this Spring. Screen Daily is reporting that Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has come on board to handle sales at the upcoming European Film Market during Berlinale. Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (Kfd) has boarded sales rights to genre-horror The Windmill Massacre ahead of Berlin’s Efm (Feb 11-19).

From debut writer-director Nick Jongerius and producer Daniel Koefoed - both producers on genre-horror Frankenstein’s Army - The Windmill Massacre tells the gory tale of a devil-worshipping miller that, legend has it, ground the bones of locals instead of grain. Back from beyond the grave, the miller seeks vengeance on a group of unsuspecting tourists, who share a dark secret.

Filmed in Amsterdam, the English-language feature is in post-production and due for delivery this spring.

An extended clip for The Windmill Massacre was released in 2013. Now, several horrifying stills are available for this film, from the Netherlands. Though a release date has been announced, this title has moved into production. The Windmill Massacre involves a serial killer, who lives in an old, rundown mill. From here, he lays waste to all who come into his water-logged territory. A preview for the film is hosted here. The synopsis begins with Jennifer (Charlotte Beaumont). She is running away from her past and she decides to hide in the local countryside. Unfortunately, her tour bus runs into the ground. And, Jennifer is forced to take shelter near a Devil-worshipping miller. Two forces will collide as Jennifer does her best to warn the other tourists and to save her own life. It was all the way back in 2013 when we first caught wind of Nick Jongerius' horror film The Windmill. Back then the film was still known as The Windmill Massacre and existed only as a proof of concept but production is now underway on the proper feature with an international cast that includes Twitch-fave Noah Taylor.Jennifer is an Australian girl on the run from her past who washes up in Amsterdam. Look out Holland, things are about to get bloody.After serving as a producer on Richard Raaphorst's Frankenstein's Army, writer-director Nick Jongerius set out to create his own exercise in horror with The Windmill Massacre. Envisioned as an eventual English language feature Jongerius has started off instead with a Dutch language short film as a proof of concept to demonstrate that this sort of thing can be done in the Netherlands at all. It was back in May that Twitch first wrote about The Windmill Massacre, an upcoming English language slasher film from Holland to be directed by Frankenstein's Army producer Nick Jongerius.
