I was genuinely impressed with "Slightly New". It's a remarkable low-budget film that truly resonates with heart and authenticity. The filmmakers have showcased tremendous potential, crafting a story that engages and entertains without the need for a blockbuster budget. It's refreshing to see such talent and dedication, making 'Slightly New' a must-watch. Eager to see what this promising team does next. They're definitely ones to watch in the indie film scene. Shout out to the cast! They did an excellent job. The guy who played Uncle Leroy stole the show. Shuler King appearance as the Deacon was great!
A completely juvenile, nonsensical, one-dimensional movie. F- would be an appropriate rating. Complete waste of time, don't bother. I'm only writing this review so you don't waste your time watching it and stopping it midway like I had to. Why people even come together to make movies like this is absolutely beyond me. I think I got dumber watching this. The acting is atrocious, the story has no point, it's not funny, it characterizes black people in the same way 'American Fiction" pokes at and it's a great example of that theme which that movie so accurately satirizes. This is the garbage of "black cinema" and belongs in the trash bin right next to all of Tyler Perry's worst.
