Bad Romance: The Vicky White Story

Nothing I Didn't Knoe

This movie followed what we saw in the media. The lead actress was really good and emotionless. I believe she showed the true spirit that Vicky White had going on - she was sad and lonely. Too bad these two had to meet this way. She made him a better person and vice versa but it couldn't be meant to be. It was just sad that people go through life going through the motions. I really hope he truly loved her and wasn't just using her because she didn't deserve that. Would be nice to see the lead actress nominated for a TV award for her performance. I hated watching with commercials though. Needs to be commercial free.

Lifetime rip from the headlines

Vicky White (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is worn down from years of lonely monotony. She works for the Sheriff's office in the Lauderdale County Jail. She is frustrated with her mother and has to constantly check on her sick ex-husband. She falls for new prisoner Casey White (Rossif Sutherland), no relations.

This story was all over the news for a brief minute. Lifetime is doing the real life story. There isn't much here other than the two great lead actors. The production can't rise above its TV level except for these two. At the end of the day, that's all we have here and that's fine for the most part.

Nothing we already knew

I didn't know there was a movie of vicki white, (I now know there are several) But I saw this available to watch on the Roku channel with a membership activation. Instead I searched for it on youtube and was glad I did. I would have been mad otherwise.

I felt a little robbed because the movie seemed to be soley based on the exact details that were plastered all over the news. I was hoping for a little extra information, like what really happened and what was said between the two while in the car. The movie actress didn't even have Vicki's pronounced southern drawl. I feel like the things that were said were made up and that nobody got to do an actual interview with Casey White to get more details. The movie was no more satisfying than reading a news story. Not only that, things that were on the news were left out including the crucial moments at the end of their capture when their conversation was actually recorded by 911. The end of the movie should have been more dramatic. It felt like a movie somebody was forced to make. By the way, the romance parts were a bit over the top and unauthentic. It didn't help me to understand what inspired her to get the hots for this unappealing felon.
