Warning! Spoilers for Squid Game season 2 ahead!
Park Gyu-young was expected to play a competitor in the games in Squid Game season 2, but her true role was so much better. The assumption about Park's place within the story comes down to sheer numbers and precedence since the majority of characters in Squid Game season 1 were those vying for the cash prize along with Gi-hun. The first episode of Squid Game season 2 seemed to confirm that Park's character would compete in the games since she was just as desperate as the target demographic. However, her story took a surprising twist.
Park is a familiar name in Korean entertainment, which is why her role in Squid Game season 2 was such a significant point of interest. She is known for projects like Sweet Home, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, A Good Day to Be a Dog, and more, making her an...

Spoilers ahead for “Squid Game” Season 2.
No one is ever who they seem in “Squid Game.” That’s especially the case when it comes to one of Season 2’s newest and most intriguing characters, Kang No-eul, who’s portrayed by actress Park Gyu-young.
No-eul isn’t a player in the game but one of the guards. Specifically, she’s Guard 011, who wears the triangle mask which is worn by the shooters in this twisted world. A former soldier, No-eul is a North Korean defector. She fled to the South after killing her superior officer, but in the process she was forced to leave her newborn baby behind.
Dedicated to finding her baby and bringing her to South Korea no matter what, No-eul first took a job as a costumed performer. But when the organizers of the Squid Game offered her more money, she pushed her morals aside and took the opportunity.

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Squid Game season 2.
Park Gyu-young plays an important role in Squid Game season 2, but her character's narrative is far more twisted than one could anticipate. Like most Squid Game season 2 cast members, Park Gyu-young is a new addition to the show's roster and was not a part of season 1. Best known for her roles in several other TV shows like Sweet Home, A Good Day to Be a Dog, and It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Park Gyu-young appears as one of the main secondary protagonists in Squid Game season 2.
Since most new additions to the show's cast in season 2 play contestants in the titular games, it is hard not to assume that Park Gyu-young would also follow suit. However, after initially maintaining an air of ambiguity surrounding the role she will adopt, Squid Game season 2 finally reveals who she plays. The reveal is...

BBC Studios has entered the Korean content game in a big way.
The BBC’s commercial outfit has partnered with the Korean Creative Content Agency (Kocca) on a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) that will see the “production, investment, and distribution of global broadcast and video content” between the partners. Separately, Kocca has struck a deal with Korean streamer Viu.
The broad aim is for BBC Studios and Viu to make and distribute shows, along with “other necessary matters for the development of the domestic and international broadcast and video content industry and the establishment of a fair ecosystem,” they said.
The Mou was established to address “limitations and challenges” in the current broadcasting space such as rising costs and a decrease in factual shows, according to the announcement, coming after a gloomy Edinburgh TV Festival that spotlighted these issues. Kocca said it “plans to secure genre diversity in K-content and...
